​Keith Cavelle Mclendon, age 62, passed on December 27, 2020.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Mr. Keith Cavelle Mclendon was born February 15, 1958 to the late Mrs. Mamie Mclendon and Mr. Taylor Reese.

Keith was a very good husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He was a 1976 graduate of D. F. Douglass High.  He also attended Georgia Southwestern, where he studied psychology.  He worked for Maron, Buckeye, G & G Masonry, Tom Odom Masonry.  Keith was a dedicated brick cutter.  He was also the biggest Falcon fan.  As a result of his genuine spirit and pleasant personality, Keith was loved by so many.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife of 42 years: Patricia Ann Felton; his 4 sons: Keith (Stephanie) Mclendon Jr., Courtney Mclendon, Diocleutia Mclendon of Montezuma, Georgia, Okeem Mclendon (Tivishia) of Kathleen, GA; 1 loving and devoted daughter: Lakiesha Ward and devoted son-in-love, Romel Ward.

Keith was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 1 sister: Bernard Mclendon, Jimmy Mclendon, Ronald Mclendon, Curtis Reese, Anderson Reese, Taylor Reese Jr., Tyrone Story and Gloria Gaines.

He leaves behind 2 sisters, Debra Thomas and Cynthia McCants of Oglethorpe, GA.

Keith spent lots of time with his 8 grandchildren and they will cherish his memory: Aukeeveous Mclendon, Akeirah Harpe, Deziya Mclendon, Kelan Harpe, Alani Ward, Romel Ward Jr., Kion Ward and Zuri Ward. He also leaves a great granddaughter: A’riyah Mclendon.   

As a result of his genuine spirit and pleasant personality, Keith was loved by so many.  He had many cherished people that impacted his life including the following: 1 devoted niece, Valerie (Rodrick) Harp; 6 devoted nephews: Jermaine Thomas, Leon Thomas, Rodrick Gaines, Jesse Hubbard, Frederick English, Travis Mathis and Andra Kendrick; sister-in-law: Olivia (James) Hubbard, Oglethorpe, GA; brothers-in-law: William (Elnora) Felton of Montezuma, GA, Howard Felton and David Felton of Oglethorpe, GA; 4 devoted friends: Lamont Lakes, Calvin Lee, Leonard Mckellar and Charlie Tookes; 1 Godson: Ricarlos Beal and well devoted cousin: Wanda Faye Mathis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Lavinia Lashaun Baisden was born August 3, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Lillie Proctor Range and the late Charles Albert Baisden. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Cora Baisden, and three uncles, Willie Chester, Dennis J. Baisden, Alvin Moses Baisden.   She was educated in the public school system of Schley County and was a graduate of Tri County High School Class of 1995. She furthered her education at DeVry University majoring in business billing and coding.  At an early age she joined the band of Christian believers at Union Hill A.M.E. Church in Ellaville, Georgia. She worked as a receptionist at Turner Field. Lavinia loved singing and spending time with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children, Jamaica Antwanekia Baisden, Christian Bernard Baisden “Bailey”, Ladaren Travon Baisden, Lillian Jasmine Baisden, and Shaun Baisden; three siblings, Janis Proctor, Christopher Proctor, and Claudia Proctor; uncles and aunts, Leon Baisden, Eddie James Baisden, John L. Baisden, Enoch Bernard Baisden, Martha Ann Mathis, Bertha  Edwards (Larry), Carol Proctor, Velma Johnson (Jerome), Charles Brown, Ronzo Proctor (Rachel), Eddie Proctor, Walter Proctor Jr., and Nathaniel Proctor (Marie); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Walter Shelton was born on October 2, 1947 in Preston, Georgia to the Ilois Jordan Shelton and the late Felton Shelton. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Pricilla Clark, and one sister, Hattie Burton. He was educated in the public school system of Webster County and was a graduate of the Webster County High School class of 1966. Following high school, Walter enlisted in the United States Army in which he served his country proudly in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist  Church where he served as a usher. Walter was employed as a Truck Driver at J&M Tank Line for over 41 years of dedicated services.  On March 17, 1971 two hearts became one when Walter married the love of his life Otha Lee Williams.  Walter loved fishing, playing pool, strolling through the flea market and loving on his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 49 years, Mrs. Otha Shelton; four children, Willie James Williams Sr. (Emma), Mary Ann Washington, Mary Louise Adams (Kelsey Sr.), and Walter Bernard Shelton Sr. (Annessia); nine grandchildren, Tanneshia, Japonica, Ivory, Willie Jr., Walter Jr., Kelsey Jr., Alexia, Iman, and Ke’Lizzia; seven great grandchildren; a loving mother, Mrs. Ilois Shelton; three siblings, Canton Shelton (Ethel), Easter Shelton, Tansie Foster; two aunts, Mattie McKee, Elera Strawbridge; a devoted nephew, Antron Shelton; three godchildren, Torrence Burney, Rev. Dr. Timothy D. French, and Robin Waters; six devoted friends, Thomas Rhymes, Sammie Sneed, Leon Banks, Bobby Moore, Mrs. Mamie Moses, and Randy Hurley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Larry James Barron was born on September 2, 1955 the 10th and youngest child to Coy Barron Sr. and Rosa Lee Barron of Byromville Georgia. Larry was a 1974 graduate of Vienna High School, and he attended Albany State College after graduation. Larry was the proud owner of Barron ’s Barbecue Sauce where he patterned his recipe in honor of his mother, Rosa Lee.

He was an ordained deacon at Reedy Branch Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher and organizer and head of the Fletcher Bloom Foundation.

Some of his hobbies included golfing, weightlifting, cooking and sharing recipes. Larry was a friendly person who always had a smile on his face. He once was a very successful car salesman in Greensboro, North Carolina. His last employments included Blue Bird Body County and HSM in Fort Valley, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Danita Haugabook Pough, and two brothers, Sammy Lee Barron and John T. Barron.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Denise Harden-Barron; his daughter, Stephanie Smith Wellons; granddaughter, Kinslee Wellons; siblings, Coy Barron Sr., Willie Fred Barron (Louise) Joseph Barron, Ben Barron, Janie M. Winters, David Barron (Ariebelle), and Judy Barron (Jimmy); and mother-in-law, Bernice Harden, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Kenneth Holton was born March 7, 1953 to the parentage of the late Mrs. Hattie Mae Terry Holton.  He departed his earthly life to be with the Lord and Savior on December 13, 2020.

Kenneth was known to many as “Kenny.” He was reared by his grandparents, the late Tommy and Ethel Mae Terry.  Kenny received his education in the Warner Robins, Georgia public school system. Kenny was employed with the Columbia Residential Housing Authority of Atlanta, Georgia until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Biddy Holton.

Kenny leaves to cherish his memory, a very special love, Nina Smith, of Ellaville, Georgia, along with her children, Temeka Hollis and Lamar Barker of Ellaville, Georgia; and seven special grandchildren.  He also leaves to cherish his memories his brother, Willie James Holton, Wilmington, Delaware. Kenny was also survived by his loving and devoted cousins, Judith (Charlie) White, Cusseta, Georgia Vasco Jr. and Delores Perry of Radcliffe, Kentucky and Angela Grant, of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of other beloved family and friends.

Torrey Lamont Allen was born July 2, 1978 in Vienna, Georgia to Kenneth and Elsie Martin. He was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Ms. Bessie Clara Mallard and Ms. Thelma Martin.

Torrey was known to many as “Mooney” or “MoontDawg.” He attended D.F. Douglass High School. Mooney loved sports; at an early age he enjoyed playing football for the recreational department. He worked at King Custom Builders.  He loved to cook for his family and the Marshallville Community.

He leaves a devoted companion, Rhonda Byse. He was blessed to be the Dad of six children, Ms. Alexis Byse of Marshallville, Georgia, Ms. Jasmine Allen, San Diego, California, Kemar McGhee, Torrie Allen, Tamara Allen, Tu'Reyona Allen all of Marshallville, Georgia, and grandfather to one grandson, Haiden Byse, Marshallville, Georgia. He also leaves to his beloved parents, Ms. Elsie Martin, Byron, Georgia, and Mr. Kenneth Martin, (Joyce) Ellaville, Georgia; four beloved siblings; Mrs. Tameka Smith (Wesley) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. Rodrick Allen (Q’Shantee) Perry, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Kendelyn (Jesse) Freeman of Byron, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan (Laquawn) Felton of Warner Robins, Georgia; beloved aunts and uncles, Mr. and  Mrs. Charles (Marzarena) Allen, Mr. Thomas Sanders, Ms. Betty Lou Engram, and Mrs. Carol Neal (Jimmy) all of Montezuma, Georgia, Mr. William Martin (Betty Jean), Mr. Richard Fuller, Mr. Robert Fuller, and Mr. Milton Fuller all of Marshallville, Georgia, Mrs. Mary Washington (James), Cocoa Beach, Florida, Mrs. Martha Keller (John) of New Jersey, and Mrs. Debra Allen Davis of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; devotes friends, Deon Slappy, Alex Rumph, Ray Germany, ShonMcGhee, Jared Lindsey, and a nephew he treated as his own, Davonte Allen.

Ethel Mae Fulks Davis was the first of eight children born to the late Henry Lee and Tressie Lee Fulks. She was born May 21, 1938 in Ideal, Georgia. She was educated at the Macon County Grade School and then began her life of service to others in many capacities. She first worked as a Nutritional Food Service Cook at the former Sumter Regional Hospital of Americus, Georgia and retired from there. She then began working with the Macon County Board of Education in Montezuma, Georgia as a Nutritional Food Service Cook. After her years of dedicated services to the employees and students of Macon County, she retired. She was a faithful member of Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Ellaville, Georgia, where she served as assistant clerk and food committee member under the leadership of Elder Paul Swift, Elder Joseph Crawford, and Elder Nathan Rolle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zettie Davis, Sr.; three siblings, Earlene Fulks, Henry Lewis Fulks, Shirley Lee Williams; two grandchildren, Kelvin and Sabrina Hill and Omar Daviyale McDonald; and two great-grandchildren, Gregory Davis and Taylor Nicole Haerron. 

Those who crossed paths with her loved her. She was affectionately called “Granny,” Mama, Mrs. Ethel Mae, and “Sugar.” She will forever be remembered as a beautiful, amazing, caring, compassionate, hardworking, gracious, strong, fun, humorous, supportive, and thankful mother who always accepted all her children with love, food, and blessings. 

She is survived by her nine children, Patricia Thomas, Velma Davis (Milton - Fiancé), Moses Davis, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Jacqueline Davis, Deborah (Keyon) Story, Jimmy (Kim) Davis, Montezuma, Georgia, Sharon (Michael) Moore, Charlotte, North Carolina, Zettie Davis Jr. (Cheryl- Fiancée), Atlanta, Georgia, Willie James (Barbara) Fulks, Detroit Michigan; two grandchildren she reared as her own, Desmond Davis, Warner Robins, Georgia and Jaleel Green, Oglethorpe, Georgia; four sisters, Ruthie Dean Perry, Etta Mae (Joe) Harris, Barbara Ann Fulks, Detroit, Michigan, Joyce Marie (Larry) Russell, Montezuma, Georgia; one aunt, Annie Ruth (Jacob) Parker; sisters-in-law, Obie Tookes, Detroit, Michigan and Ruthy Shelley, Montezuma, Georgia; twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; special cousins, Margie Nell Worthy, and Curtis Turner, Montezuma, Georgia; two caregivers, Milton Hayes, Oglethorpe, Georgia and Nettie Tookes, Oglethorpe, Georgia; beloved friends, James (Sheena) Brown and Elaine Smith and Family; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, friends as well as many who loved and regarded her as grandmother whom she loved as her own.

Clarence Johnson Jr. was born September 30, 1965 in Dawson, Georgia to the late Clarence Johnson Sr. and the late Willie Mae Collier.  He was preceded in death by one brother Michael Collier. He was educated in the public  school system of Terrell County  and was a graduate of Terrell County High School.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Governor Gibson. Clarence was employed with the Department  of Juvenile  Justice as a Sergeant.  On September 29, 2000 two hearts became one when he was joined in holy matrimony to Cassandra Worthy.  Clarence had many hobbies; he loved weight lifting, cars, cooking, and talking with family and friends. Being a lover of cars he was a member ATA Performx, mustang car club in Plains, Ga. He was a member of the Masonic Herman Lodge #291 in Oglethorpe, Georgia. He will be forever remembered by family as friends as being someone you could call upon at any time; he never met a stranger.  
 
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Cassandra Johnson; three children, Cordarell Johnson (Azalia Hall),  Alexandria Johnson (Johnny Davis), and Sgt. Denson Heard III; a god daughter who was reared as his own Zykemmia Brown; two godsons, Jordin Solomon and Isaiah Perkins; four grandchildren, Shy’nestie Johnson, twins Zy’kevien and Zy’kavien Davis, and Tybrianna Felton; siblings, Clovis Collier, Mary Collier Walton (David), David Owens, Calvin Owens (Lasonya), Alex Owen Sr. (Ruby), Philip Collier, Tyrone Johnson, Cassandra Johnson, and Sharon Johnson; sisters/brothers-in-law, Vanessa Raines (Kenny), Terrial Fields (Eric), Joshua Stewart (Lisa), Stashia Stewart, Eugene Turner (Mae Dodson), Roy Turner (Jackie); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and caring friends especially Thad Hall, Jim Tolbert, Tristan Cephus, and Christopher Brown.

Carla Ann Kleckley

Carla Ann Kleckley, age 53, passed away at her home on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Carla’s desire was to be cremated.

No arrangements for a memorial service have been made at this time.

Carla was born into the loving family of Johnny and Eva Kleckley, who both preceded her in death.

Carla, a lifelong resident of Macon County, was born on October 15, 1967. She received her education and graduated from Macon County High School. Her knack for fashion, style and love for children impelled her to further her education at South Georgia Technical School in the field of Cosmetology and Early Childhood Development.

Carla’s deep love for children enhanced her days working lovingly and diligently with her nephews and nieces also sharing her joy with the children of Kidz-R-Us Daycare for many years.

Carla enjoyed relishing in fashion as she was a true “fashionista”. She will always be known for her coordinated style of dress. From head-to-toe she flowed with coordination of colors, style, class, elegance and pizazz. Carla was also known for her great culinary skills in the kitchen, along with laughing, having a good time and being that go-to-person to have a genuine listening ear for sound advice.

Carla being raised with the truth of God’s word dedicated her heart and life to Jehovah, the only true God as one of his Christian Witnesses on May 7, 2016 and she shared her faith with others by means of the public door-to-door ministry and letter writing.

Carla was loved and will be missed by many. She leaves fond memories in the hearts of family; two sisters: Linda Kleckley Hankerson of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Jeshanah Kleckley of Americus, Georgia; two brothers: Donnie Kleckley and Tommy (Ruby) Kleckley of Oglethorpe, Georgia; nephews: Harold Hankerson, Jr (Lazetta) and their children Simone, Hailey and Harold Hankerson III aka “Trey” of Marietta, Georgia; nieces: Stacey (Timothy) Mathis and their children Timberly and Timothy D. Mathis aka “TJ” of Fort Valley, Georgia, and Candace Kleckley of Oglethorpe, Georgia.

A loving extended family: Betty Mathis of Ellenwood, Georgia; Marianne (Russell) Curry of Stockbridge, Georgia; Carolyn (Abner) Maloy of Montezuma, Georgia; Clara (Devaughn) McKenzie of Montezuma, Georgia; Doris Haugabook of Marshallville, Georgia and Jerome Haugabook of Atlanta, Georgia; A host of cousins, friends, and a Worldwide Spiritual family.

Mrs. Amdrilla M. Erskine was born February 2, 1961 to the parents of the late Harvey, Jr. and Rosie Jean Hudson in Montezuma, GA. Amdrilla was a 1979 graduate of Macon County High School in Montezuma, GA. After graduation she worked for a short time at Southern Frozen Foods and later moved to Hartford, CT. She was a CNA for Jefferson House in Newington, CT for many years. Her caring and compassionate spirit made her an amazing CNA. Her patients knew they were in good hands if she was taking care of them. Amdrilla loved cooking, shopping, couponing and most importantly talking. 

Amdrilla had a very outgoing personality and was known to light up the atmosphere everywhere she went. Amdrilla loved to come back home to Montezuma and was known as “Queen B” by many. When she came home, she would cook meals for everybody who wanted something to eat. In Connecticut, she was known to all of her friends as “Angie.”  It was in Hartford, CT where she met the love of her life, Mr. Delroy Erskine, and together they raised three beautiful children. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Jr. and Rosie Jean Hudson, grandparents, Harvey Sr. and Bertha Hudson, Essie Mae and James Felton and Robert Burnam Sr. and four siblings: Brenda, Doris, Jacquelyn, and baby Hudson.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband of 29 years, Delroy Erskine; three children, Kaydine Erskine-Hall (Jermaine) Norfolk, VA; Richard Erskine (Rocio) Germany; Sushane Erskine-Perry (Marquis) Honolulu, HI; siblings; Donald Hudson, Sr. (Gloria), Montezuma, GA; Dr. Beverly Gaines, Stockbridge, GA

Her pride and Joy - her grandchildren; Amari and Ariyanna Hall; Nicholas, Kaiden, Gabriella, Isabella, and Amelia Erskine; Jayda and Aliyah Perry.

Brother and Sisters-in-law: Nevile (Yevenne) Spence, Brooklyn, NY; Milton (Enia) Vassel; Philbert Erskine; Cleveland Erskine; Mellicent Reid; Cassel (Linton) Richards; Enid (Machel) Wolliston all from Jamaica.
