Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Mr. Keith Cavelle Mclendon was born February 15, 1958 to the late Mrs. Mamie Mclendon and Mr. Taylor Reese.
Keith was a very good husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a 1976 graduate of D. F. Douglass High. He also attended Georgia Southwestern, where he studied psychology. He worked for Maron, Buckeye, G & G Masonry, Tom Odom Masonry. Keith was a dedicated brick cutter. He was also the biggest Falcon fan. As a result of his genuine spirit and pleasant personality, Keith was loved by so many.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife of 42 years: Patricia Ann Felton; his 4 sons: Keith (Stephanie) Mclendon Jr., Courtney Mclendon, Diocleutia Mclendon of Montezuma, Georgia, Okeem Mclendon (Tivishia) of Kathleen, GA; 1 loving and devoted daughter: Lakiesha Ward and devoted son-in-love, Romel Ward.
Keith was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 1 sister: Bernard Mclendon, Jimmy Mclendon, Ronald Mclendon, Curtis Reese, Anderson Reese, Taylor Reese Jr., Tyrone Story and Gloria Gaines.
He leaves behind 2 sisters, Debra Thomas and Cynthia McCants of Oglethorpe, GA.
Keith spent lots of time with his 8 grandchildren and they will cherish his memory: Aukeeveous Mclendon, Akeirah Harpe, Deziya Mclendon, Kelan Harpe, Alani Ward, Romel Ward Jr., Kion Ward and Zuri Ward. He also leaves a great granddaughter: A’riyah Mclendon.
As a result of his genuine spirit and pleasant personality, Keith was loved by so many. He had many cherished people that impacted his life including the following: 1 devoted niece, Valerie (Rodrick) Harp; 6 devoted nephews: Jermaine Thomas, Leon Thomas, Rodrick Gaines, Jesse Hubbard, Frederick English, Travis Mathis and Andra Kendrick; sister-in-law: Olivia (James) Hubbard, Oglethorpe, GA; brothers-in-law: William (Elnora) Felton of Montezuma, GA, Howard Felton and David Felton of Oglethorpe, GA; 4 devoted friends: Lamont Lakes, Calvin Lee, Leonard Mckellar and Charlie Tookes; 1 Godson: Ricarlos Beal and well devoted cousin: Wanda Faye Mathis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
