​Rosetta West Freeman, age 69, 2524 Drayton Road, Montezuma, Georgia passed Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

The funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia.

Rosetta West Freeman was born July 22, 1950 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Jessie Adams, Jr., and Roberta West. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County. 

In 1967, she married the love of her life Fletcher Dean Freeman, Sr., and to this union nine children were born. Two sons, Anthony L. West, Sr. and Glen Eugene Freeman, preceded her in death.

Through God’s guidance and a firm motherly hand she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a true Christian friend. She had a loving and caring heart.  Mrs. Rosetta was a lifetime homemaker.

On Wednesday afternoon, November 27, 2019, our beloved Rosetta transitioned. A precious one from us is gone; a voice we love is still, a place is vacant in our hearts that can never be filled.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Fletcher Dean Freeman, Sr., Montezuma, Georgia; seven children and their spouses, Michael L. Reverend Jesse Lee Kendrick Jr., age 76, passed on November 27, 2019 at his residence.
 
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Brown Chapel Baptist Church, Highway 224, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
 
Rev. Kendrick was born in Dooly County, on March 9, 1943 to the late Cora Bell Cochran and the late Jesse Kendrick, Sr. He was preceded in death by eight siblings, Gussie Cochran, K.C. Cochran, Johnny Cochran, Stephanie Ann Cochran, James Davis Kendrick, Linda Rucker, Pealie Mae Kendrick, Jessie Mae Hunter. He was educated through the historic Flint River School. Rev. Kendrick believed in working and providing for his family. Over the years he was employed as a Freight Line Worker, Construction Worker and Fender and Body Worker. In the early 1960’s he started work with H&G Body Shop and in 1971, he was able to purchase that same body shop and officially open Jesse Paint Shop.
 
At an early age he joined the band of Christian believers at Shade Arnold Baptist Church and in 1976,  he heard and answered a call of the Lord to preach the gospel.  For over 40 years he was married to Dorothy Westberry Kendrick and to union two children were born.  He is also preceded in death by one son, Anqulitus Kendrick.
 
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted companion, Dorothy Kendrick, Oglethorpe, Georgia; one son, Jesse Kendrick III (Crystal), Oglethorpe, Georgia; four grandchildren, Gabriele Bethune, Jessica Kendrick, and Zaccheus Kendrick, and Ladasia Luckey; siblings, Barbara Thomas, Bernice Lee, Sandra Davis, Margaret Cochran, Joyce Elaine Cochran, Evelyn Kelly, Delacey Cochran (Lois), and Wilbert Cochran; an aunt, Ida Mae Green, and  a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

​Eather Lee Bush Brown, age 71, passed on November 18, 2019 at her residence surrounded by loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Kingdom Hall, 104 Packing House Road, Americus, Georgia.

​Emma Jean Lester, age 83, 803 Lavender Street, Montezuma, Georgia passed Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, Georgia.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the New Bethel Baptist Church, 1212 Johnson Street, Montezuma, Georgia with private burial.

Ms. Emma Jean was born June 29, 1936 in Dooly County, Georgia to the late Will Lester and the late Leila Duncan Lester. She acquired her education in the public school system of Dooly County. She was a faithful member of the New Bethel Baptist Church of Dooly, where she exemplified her worth on the Usher Board Ministry. After many years of unconditional love for her family and friends she retired after failing health as a homemaker.

She leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to her beloved five children and grandchildren, Geraldine Lester Felton (Lonnie), Douglasville, Georgia, Eloise Lester Carr, Montezuma, Georgia, Shirley Lester Frazier (Thomas), Monroe, Georgia, Alma Lester and Rose Lester both of Montezuma, Georgia; one godson, Mr. Westberry, Warner Robins, Georgia; twenty-three grandchildren and forty-five great grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including one devoted Mrs. Ossie Mae Loman.

The funeral service for ​Mrs. Jamie Louise Blue Rumph will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church, 500 Evans Drive, Marshallville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Colonel Felton Memorial Cemetery, 502 South Street, Marshallville, Georgia.

On September 27, 1942, Mrs. Jamie Louise Blue Rumph was delivered from Heaven above into the loving arms of her parents, the late Mr. Robert Blue and Mrs. Jamie Jones Blue in Macon County, Georgia. At the age of 77, our beloved, Jamie Rumph, known best as “Sister Blue,” rejoined her Heavenly Father on November 17, 2019.

Sister Blue gave her life to the Lord at an early age and became a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She attended Sunday School, BTU, and faithfully served in the Junior Choir and the Senior Choir.

Sister Blue began her education at Lamson-Richardson Elementary School in Marshallville, Georgia and graduated in 1960 from the Douglass High School in Montezuma, Georgia.

She worked at various employers including Fort Valley State University as a Dorm Mom until retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jamie Blue and her oldest brother, Thomas Blue. She leave to cherish her memories, one son, Harold Demetrius Rumph (Joi). Three devoted adopted daughters, Oliver Ann Barner, Fort Valley, Georgia; Toya Rumph, Acworth, Georgia; Marilyn White-Herron (Charles), Warner Robins, Georgia. Five grandchildren, Victoria Norton, Zackery Rumph, Christian Harper; and two devoted grands, Demetrius Xavier Rumph and Brianna Barner whom she raised as her own. Three sisters, Sara (Tiny) White, Warner Robins, Georgia; Barbara Tinker, Decatur, Georgia; Carolyn Jennings, McDonough, Georgia. Three brothers, Edward Blue (Beuletta), New Rochelle, New York; Frederick Blue (Denise), Locust, Georgia; Alfred Fuller, Marshallville, Georgia. Three devoted cousins and best friend, Sandra McGhee, Warner Robins, Georgia; Rose Ann Taylor, Montezuma, Georgia; Ruth Felton Bryant, Marshallville, Georgia. A host of nieces and nephews including two whom she raised as her own, Todd Mitchell Blue, Oakland, California; Michael Andre Crocker, Longwood, Florida.

​Robert Miller, age 77 passed on November 3, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Robert was born in Montezuma, Georgia on July 15, 1942  to the late Sandy Miller Sr. and the late Willie Drew Miller. He was affectionately known as Bob.  He was preceded in death by nine siblings, Elizabeth Smith, Sandy Miller, Jr., Charlie Miller, Mamie Lee Massalane, Rosa Lee Harris, Sammie Miller, Henry Miller, Leatha Mae Harvey, and Annie Lou Johnson.  He was educated the public school system of Macon County.  He was employed as a construction worker.  Bob was joined in holy matrimony to Evelyn Lester Miller. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Evelyn Miller, Atlanta, Georgia; five siblings, Annie Kate Turner Miami, Florida, Betty Miller-Ferguson (Samuel), East Point, Georgia, Ernestine Moore (John), Montezuma, Georgia,  Willie James Miller, (Eula), Orlando, Florida, and Leroy Miller (Carolyn), Atlanta, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Lewis Harvey, Miami, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends, including a devoted friend Retha of Orlando, Florida.
