Mary Alice McDonald Walker, age 62, passed on November 10, 2019 at Miona Geriatric and Dementia Center, Ideal, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 16, 2019, House of God Miracle Temple, 622 Hoke Smith Road, Ideal, Georgia. Burial will follow at Felton Chapel Cemetery, Hwy 128, Montezuma, Georgia.
Mary was born on June 25, 1957 in Americus, Georgia to Mary Johnson McDonald, and the late Izille McDonald, Sr. She was preceded in death by her son, Lewis Walker III, and brothers, Terry McDonald, Izille McDonald, Jr., and Kenny Lewis McDonald. Mary was educated in the public school system of Macon County and attended the historic D.F. Douglass High School. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined the band of Christian believers at First Salem Baptist Church. Mary was joined in holy matrimony to the late Lewis David Walker II. She was a homemaker.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Anthony Walker, Shairline Harris (Terell), all of Montezuma, Georgia, and Kimberly Towns (Isley) Ideal, Georgia; 22 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a mother, Mary Johnson, Oglethorpe, Georgia; three siblings, Ernestine McDonald, Sheryl McDonald, Oglethorpe, Georgia and Darryl McDonald, Alabama; aunts, Hattie Herbert, Louise Baldwin, Emgene McDonalds; sisters/brothers–in-law, Mary Battle (Junior), Gloria McDonald, Mae Eula Walker, Arrie Dean Walker, Betty Walker and Phillip Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including devoted friends Minnie Bailey, Ella Towns, and Mae Ford.
