​Clifford Thomas Stewart, age 59, formerly of Oglethorpe, Macon County, Georgia, passed on November 29, 2022.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 5311 White Water Road, Ideal, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia. 

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.

Clifford Thomas Stewart, known to many as Rabbit, was born May 1, 1963, in Macon County, Georgia to Wedie Bell Brown Stewart and the late E.C. Stewart.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Stewart and Annie Bell Stewart. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County where he attended the historic D.F. Douglass High School. He received his GED from the Job Corps in Albany, Georgia and his certification as a brick mason. He relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1979 and was employed as a construction worker with Morley Water Proofing  Company for over twenty  years.
 
He leaves to cherish his memories to his daughter Anika Stewart, Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Wedie Bell Stewart, Montezuma, Georgia; four siblings Charlie Brown, Montezuma, Georgia,  Gloria Stewart, Patricia Stewart, both of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Betty Jean Stewart, Montezuma, Georgia; aunts and uncles  Susie Lumpkin, Montezuma, Georgia, Vernestine Brown, Miami, Florida, Daisy Stewart, Hampton, Virginia, Leo and Sarah Stewart, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Charlie C. Stewart, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Rosa Brown, Sanford, Florida; eight nephews including two devoted nephews Levario Stewart, Lemario Larry, Charles Brown Jr., Maurice Long  (Brandi), Darrian Felton, Dekeldric Felton, Javaris McDonald, and Curtavious McDonald; a host of other relatives and friends including a devoted friend, Ella Ruth Hollis.

Marie “Alma” Jones, age 78, passed on November 25, 2022, at Crisp Regional Hospital, Cordele, Georgia. 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, 1908 Dozier Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. Marie Jones was born April 1, 1944, in Ellaville, Georgia to the late Otis Wiggins and the late Gladys Jones. Alma, as she was known by family and friends, was preceded in death by her only child, Deborah Felecia Baldwin, and one brother Charlie Jones. She was educated in the public school system  of Schley County.  Alma worked as a seasonal  worker. 

She leaves to cherish her memories to her beloved grandchildren, Lakeshia N. Thornton, Columbus, Georgia and Jamarcus Moore, Columbus, Georgia; two great grandchildren, Jaylin Thornton, Ramisha Baldwin, both of Columbus, Georgia; one brother, Joseph Jones, Ellaville, Georgia; an uncle, Ike Jones, Columbus, Georgia; a son-in-law, Lawrence Baldwin, Columbus, Georgia; a host of other family and friends including a devoted niece Teresa Johnson.

Annie Lue Dowsey Hudson, age 88, of 138 Statham Street, Ellaville, Georgia passed Friday, November 19, 2022, at her home.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the Quebec Missionary Baptist Church, GA Hwy 26 West, Ellaville, Georgia. Reverend Clinton Aldridge, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Church Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Annie Lue Dowsey Hudson daughter of the late Mr. Marcella and Mrs. Ida Bee Dowsey was born April 26, 1934, in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia. She attended the public schools in Schley County. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Marion Hudson and Jimmy Milliner; her daughter Lizzie Mae Alridge; siblings James,  Clara Bell, Chester, and Earnestine; and devoted friend Henry Lewis Boddie.
 
Annie worked and retired after 32 years of service as a Nurse’s Aide at Ideal Nursing and Assisted Living Homes. Annie loved being able to provide people with the unselfish duty of care.
 
Annie was a devoted and faithful Mother of Quebec Baptist Church until her health failed. She joined Quebec Baptist at very young age and served in various auxiliary during her years of service.

Annie’s life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: MaryAnn Curry (Knoxville) and Melvin Hudson (Ellaville); sister Rosie Mae Hadley (Thomasville), Four grandchildren Frederick “Boo” Alridge (Wendy) (Buena Vista), Vinson Alridge (Ellaville), Stacey Williamson (Knoxville), and Shelia Alridge (Ellaville); 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Haynes (Ellaville); and a host of devoted family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. James Lee Hartage Sr., age 89 years old, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Living Word Ministry, GA Highway 26 West, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellaville, Georgia.

Mr. Hartage was born in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia to the late Lois Wright Hartage and the late Moses Hartage Sr. He was educated in the public school system of Schley County whereas he attended the lustrous Jerusalem Baptist Church Elementary School. 
 
In 1952 he was united in Holy matrimony to his one and only love, the late Minnie Lue Murray Hartage. To this union they were blessed with five wonderful children, 13 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
 
Mr. James moved his family to Miami, Florida whereas he was employed as a truck driver with Pabst Blue Ribbon Beverage Company. In 1982 after many years of dedicated service he along with his wife Minnie and children moved back to their native home whereas he remained until his departure.
 
Survivors include five children and their spouses, Minnie J Hartage Garmon, Tampa, Florida, Edith A. Hartage, Miami, Florida, James L. Hartage Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Debra E. Hartage Hall (Jimmy) , Ellaville, Georgia, Coretta D. Hartage (Aaron) Columbus, Georgia; siblings, Reather Clark Jones, Ellaville, Georgia, Hattie Lee Hartage, Ellaville, Georgia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny Lee Murray (Betty), Los Angeles, California, Geneva Williams, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Joe Bell Murray, Jonesboro, Georgia. A host of nieces and nephews including one devoted and loving niece Ella Louise Leach.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 O’clock A.M. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Zion Grove Baptist Church, Whitehouse Road, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in Hope Well Cemetery, Rupert, Georgia.

Ruthie Mae was born May, 3, 1930 to the late Eddie Lee Joiner, and Winnie Lee Murray Joiner of Montezuma,  Macon County Georgia. She was preceded in death by eight siblings: Susie Lee, Clarence, A. W., D Eddie, Johnny Mac, Eva Mae,  Elnora Joiner, and  Charlie Joiner.
 
She was married to the late Charlie Howard Sr. and to their union she was blessed to be the mother of ten children; four children preceded her in death; Laura Ann, Jessie Joiner Jr., Rose Joiner, and Betty Jean.
 
She was a member of Zion Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend  E.L. Clark. At a later date she joined “The Church of Living God” in Vienna, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Dobbins. After 7 Years of service she retired from Southern Frozen Foods.
 
Her survivors include Annie Powe, (Ernest), of Warner Robins, Georgia, Regina Joiner, Warner Robins, Georgia, Barry Joiner, (Clarene), of Fort Worth, Texas, Melissa Joiner, Ideal, Georgia, Charlie Howard of Americus, Georgia and Catina Marshall (Charlie Jerome), Montezuma, Georgia; twenty grandchildren and three grandchildren whom she raised as her own, Porshauna Draines, LaKisha Joiner and Sade Draines; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
 
Her surviving siblings are Mae Chambers, Miami, Florida, Ella West (Bennie), Miami, Florida, and Bertha Joiner of Montezuma, Georgia;  and devoted friends, Nathaniel Rogers, Cornelia Nelson, and Lloyd Duncan.

A wake service will be held from 5:00-6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the Colonel Felton Cemetery, Marshallville, Georgia.  Rev. Joe R. Oglesby will officiate.

Reva Baldwin Myers, Ph.D., 71, of Tallahassee passed on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Family Worship and Praise Center. Viewing is 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Champ Waters Cemetery, Montezuma, GA. Dr. Myers graduated from Boggs Academy High School and received her B.A. degree from Spellman College, Master's from Jacksonville University and her Ph.D in Childhood Development from FSU. In 1987, she became the Founding Director of FAMU's New Beginnings Daycare, retiring in 2014. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony will be 6:30 p.m. Friday at Tillman's. Survivors include her adopted brother, Army LTC (Retired) Andrew Reese, Sr.; aunt, Amy Brooks; cousins: Sheila B. Thomas, Shuwanda B. Rouse and William Earl Brooks.

Richard Lee English, Jr.,  better known as “Jitty Bug,” was born April 15, 1958, in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Richard Lee English, Sr. and the late Lillian Sykes English Taylor.  He was born in a family of five siblings; Evangelist Beverly English Williams and Wayne English preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Susie Mae Sykes and Ida Mae Dunlap and his niece, Katrina English.  
 
As a child, Richard traveled with his parents and he attended school in different countries.  Richard was a 1977  graduate of Macon County High School.
 
Richard is the father of Alicia English, Atlanta, Georgia; he is the grandfather of Kiandria Miller and Jamaal Rice both of Warner Robins, Georgia and Eric Rice, Oglethorpe, Georgia; one great granddaughter, Kehlani Cain, Warner Robins, Georgia; two siblings, Reginald English (Nannette) Ideal, Georgia and Terry English (Doretha), Columbia, South Carolina; aunts, Vivian Sykes Law, and Willie Pearl Sykes both of Oglethorpe, Georgia; sister-in-law, Sharon English, Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces (including devoted niece, Shontell English Walters), nephews, other relatives and friends including, Jeff Jolly, Leonard McKellar and Alfonza Harris.

Bernice Rumph, affectionately called “Bay Bay," passed on November 6, 2022, at Perry Hospital, Perry, Georgia at the age of 50.

The graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 12, 2022, at St. Louis C.M.E. Church Cemetery,  3829 Camp John Hope Road, Marshallville, Georgia.

Bernice Rumph was born in Montezuma, Georgia on July 22, 1972, to the late Carrie Lou Rumph and the late Billy Harris. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County and was a 1990 graduate of Macon County High School.  She later furthered her education and received a Associate Degree in Accounting from Central Georgia Technical School.  Over the years she was employed with Bibb/Dan River, Frito Lay, and she was working at Wal-mart as a Resolution Coordinator III at the time of her passing. Bay Bay enjoyed playing spades, cooking, spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a computer nerd at heart.  

She will be forever  cherished in the hearts of her three loving children Kierra Harrell (Ryan), Warner Robins, Ga,  Quaneshia Rumph (Kiandre Robinson), K’Shon Clark, Kathleen, Ga; four precious grandchildren who filled her heart with joy, Jakalyn Riley, Jessiah Harrell, Jah’Ryah Harrell, and Zayden Harrell; a loving companion Corey Duncan, Perry, Ga; three siblings, Bill Draines (Eunice), Warner Robins, Ga, Anvenitra “Holly” Colbert, Fort Valley, Ga and Randy Colbert Sr., Warner Robins, Ga; aunts and uncles Bennie Rumph Jr., Marshallville, Ga, J.C. Rumph (Annie Mae), Eddie Rumph all of Fort Myers, Fl, Chester Harris, Philadelphia, Pa, Tommie Harris (Francis), Hinesville, Ga, Alfred Harris (Connie), Warner Robins, Ga, and Brenda Bottom (Sam), Marshallville, Ga; a loving and devoted cousin whom was like a sister, Iris Barner (Larry), Macon, Ga; three nieces, four nephews, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
