Roland “Bud” Leggett was born March 26, 1945 to the parentage of the late Mildred Lloyd Davis and the late Roland Leggett. He was raised in Oglethorpe, Georgia where he attended the Macon County public schools. He was a faithful member of the New Mount Zion Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon for 15 years. For several years he was employed at Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery until the company closed. It was at this time he decided to become an entrepreneur, establishing his own home healthcare agency, “Leggett Caregiver Services.” His agency provided home healthcare services to Macon County and surrounding areas.

On February 16, 2008, he met and married the love of his life, Shirley Leggett “Mrs. Bud”. Together they have a beautifully blended family of seven children.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Arthur Lee Davis, James Davis, Albert Davis and Winfred Davis. On December 29, 2021, the voice we loved was stilled, a place became vacant in our hearts that will nevermore be filled. For all he gave his best, but it came time for him to rest. His love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Shirley Leggett; continuing his legacy are his children: Joe Woolfolk, Debra Walker, Shelease Williams, Lyngail Baily (Bill), Cherry Leggett, Angela Davis (Calvin), Elethia Tillman (Anthony); siblings: Glen Davis (Tammy); sisters: Connie Davis, Shirley Sutton, Dana Davis, Christine Daniel (Robert), Matt Nunez (George).
