Derrick Bernard “Fabe” Fulks, age 31, passed on Sunday, August 27, 2017.

A wake service will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Josh B. Gibson Center, 20 Gibson Way, Buena Vista, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Josh B. Gibson Center, 20 Gibson Way, Buena Vista, Georgia. Interment will follow at the Buena Vista City Cemetery, Buena Vista, Georgia.

Derrick was born October 10, 1985 in Americus, Georgia to Tamara Robinson and Orbie Fulks. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Walter Black, Willie Chinn; great grandparents Leon Robinson Sr., Willie B. Robinson; and great aunt Mattie B. Robinson.  He was educated in the public school system of Marion County and was a 2004 graduate of Tri-County High School in Buena Vista, Georgia. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and as a youth he joined  Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Buena Vista, Georgia.  He was employed with Perdue Farms Inc. as a live hanger. “Fabe”  as he was known by family and friends had a love from music since childhood. He spent countless hours in the studio making music that can be heard for generations to come.
 
He leaves to cherish his memories a precious daughter Adrianna Fulks, Hinesville, Georgia; his parents Tarmara Robinson, Perry, Georgia, Orbie Fulks, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandparents Earnestine Rushin, and Rosa Mae Chinn both Buena Vista, Georgia, and Verdie Dell Fulks, Ellaville, Georgia; six siblings Jacobi Robinson and Tiffany Fulks, both Columbus, Georgia, Queyana Fulks and La-Tearryia Anthony both Fort Lauderdale, Kirven Johnson, Perry, Georgia, and Kelvin Johnson (LaTia), Holiday, Florida; aunts and uncles Tyatrina Minion (Eric), Bernard Robinson, Michael Fulks (Daine), all of Buena Vista, Georgia, Bruce Robinson (Shuwanda) Lagrange, Georgia, Mark Chinn, Dawson, Georgia; Lettie Plant (Jeffery), Warner Robins, Georgia, Earnestine Dudley (Robert), Jimmy Fulks (Sandra) all of Ellaville, Georgia, and  Joanne Fulks, Maryland; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including two nephews he help reared as his own Amauri “Lil Fabe” Fulks and Amir Davis both of Columbus, Georgia.

Mrs. Annie Ree James Sanders, age 74, 108 Depot Lane, Buena Vista, Georgia passed Tuesday, August 8, 2017.  

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Bridges Street, Buena Vista, Georgia.  Interment will follow in the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Buena Vista, Georgia.
 
Mrs. Annie Ree James Sanders was born November 7, 1942 in Marion County, Georgia to the late Oscar James and the late Natheree Crawford James Statham. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She was educated in the public school system of Marion County. 
 
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Eddie Sanders; they were blessed with ten wonderful and loving children.  She was a devoted housewife and loyal friend.
 
Her survivors are seven daughters and three sons, Lula James, Annie James Wright, Mathew James, Fannie Murray (Otis) and Eddierene Prather (Willie) all of Buena Vista, Georgia, Mary Cooper (Tyrone) Augusta, Georgia, Mamie Sanders, Vernon Sanders, Talithia Sanders all of Buena Vista, Georgia, and Benji Sanders (Pearl), Tifton, Georgia; twenty-four grandchildren (one whom she reared from birth, Jasmine Mathis); sixteen great grandchildren; three siblings, Isaiah James (Molly), Sargent, Georgia, John James (Altamese), Miami, Florida and Annie B. Statham, Buena Vista, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and life-long friends, including Paul Pugh, Sarah Wade, and Felton King.  She will always be remembered for her loving ways, her beautiful smile, and her caring heart of pure gold.

Minister Colby McKenzie, Pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church No. 1, Milledgeville, Georgia will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Peyton was born March 20, 2017 in Macon, Georgia to the parents of Joshua Brooks, Sr. and PaDesha Camp; siblings, Joshua Brooks, Jr. and Madison Camp, the maternal granddaughter of Brenda Turner-Marshall (Willie Joe) and Pasteur Camp Jr. She is the paternal granddaughter of Linda Brooks and Raymond Smith II. Other survivors include aunts, Jacqueline Ellison, Katelynn Smith-Brooks, and Hannah Camp, great-great aunts, Barnice Brooks and Rose Harris, uncles, Pasteur Camp III and Dustan Brooks; one cousin Nevaeh Brooks, including a host of great aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends.

Larry Donnelle Williams, age 61, 125 Dupree Circle, Ellaville, Georgia passed on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 4th United Holiness Church, 192 North Thompson, Ellaville, Georgia. Elder Steven Anderson, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery, Travelers Home Road, Ideal Georgia.

Larry was born in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia on June 12, 1956  to Elsie Williams Baker and the late James Howard Aldridge. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eric Brooks and Vince Brooks.  He was a 1974 graduate of Tri-County High School, Buena Vista, Georgia  Marion County. He was a dedicated member of 4th United Holiness Church where he served as a deacon, Pastor Arm Bearer, secretary, and treasurer.

He leaves to cherish memories: his mother, Elsie W. Baker, Ellaville, Georgia; his devoted companion, Carolyn Hightower, Americus, Georgia;  one daughter, Porsha  Jackson, Miami, Florida; three grandchildren;  sixteen siblings, Jesse Williams (Meta) Marianna,  Florida, Besty, Williams (Arthur), Swannanoa, North Carolina, Terrill T. A memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Hall Chapel C.M.E. Church. Reverend John Thomas, Pastor.
 
Bobby was born May 24, 1953 to the late Willie Mae Rushin. He was educated in the public-school system of Marion County, where he was a 1972 graduate of Marion County High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he was honorably discharged in 1981. He was the recipient of many awards and campaign metal from the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Hall Chapel C.M.E. Church where he served as a Steward, Treasurer, Trustee, and “Mr. Hall Chapel.” He was very faithful in all ministries of the church, whereas he supported every facet of the church he loved so well. He was united in holy matrimony to Alanda Walker on May 25, 1996. He was the father of one son Bobby Lee Rushin, Jr. and two step-children.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at New Piney Grove Baptist Church, 7126 Hwy 49 North, Montezuma, Georgia where Rev. Oscar Small is Pastor. Burial will follow at Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

Lillie Bell Abbott Solomon was born in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia on May 29, 1932 to the late Sylvester Abbott Sr. and Millie Ann Kingdom Abbott. She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Solomon, and all nine siblings, Sylvester Abbott Jr., Willie Abbott, J.W. Abbott, Anderson Abbott, Essie B. Abbott, Ezzie Abbott, Millie Ann Gouch, Carrie Lee Abbott and Mary Abbott. She was educated in the public school system of  Macon County. At an early age, she joined the band of Christian Believers at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia.  On December 15, 1950, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late J.W. Solomon and to this union three children were born. She continued to worship the Lord and serve faithfully alongside her husband at New Piney Grove Baptist Church, Montezuma, Georgia where served as vice president of the church choir. She was employed with the Macon County Board of Education as a Cook at Macon County High School. After 29 years of dedicated services she retired.
 
Lillie enjoyed gardening, cooking, and caring for her family and friends. She had a kind spirit and a great personality that shined through laughter.
 
She leaves to cherish her memories two devoted children, John Willie Solomon (Derita), Barbara Greer, all of Montezuma, Georgia; a stepdaughter Lorraine Duncan, Montezuma, Georgia; a step granddaughter Adrian Harris, Warner Robins, Georgia; just like daughters, Shelia Warren and Annie Tookes;  a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including devoted nieces, Yvonne Martin, Pontiac, Michigan, Koweta Solomon, Montezuma, Georgia and Barbara Dillard, Cleveland, Ohio; devoted nephews, Otis Solomon, Alabama, Dewayne Clark, Jacksonville, Florida, Maurice Abbott, Griffin, Georgia, and Kenny Solomon, Montezuma, Georgia; devoted friends, Gussie Harris, Marjorie Hillman both of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Hazel Thompson of Montezuma, Georgia; sisters-in law, Clara  Dickens, Macon, Georgia, Peggy Hankerson (James), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Dorothy Solomon, and Isabell Abbott both of Montezuma, Georgia; and a devoted caregiver, Renarda Felton. Angeline Delores Terry Slaughter, age 59, passed Friday, August 4, 2017, at Phoebe Sumter Center in Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Good News Ministries located on 201 Mayo Street in Americus, Georgia where Bishop E. J. Wallace is the pastor.  Pastor Margret McCarty of New Beginnings Full Gospel Church in Richland, Georgia will officiate the services.  Interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Ideal, Georgia, which is also known as the Payne Bottom Community.

Angeline was born July 31, 1958, in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to the late Joseph Terry and Edna Mae Williams Terry.  She was first educated in the public school system in Schley County where she attended John Lewis Elementary and High School.  She later went on to attend and graduate in 1976 from Tri-County High School in Marion County.  At an early age, she confessed Christ as per personal Savior and joined the band of Christian believers at Galilee Primitive Baptist Church.  Later on in her adult life, she moved her membership to Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of her husband, Elder Eddie Slaughter.  She most recently served as a faithful member at New Beginnings Full Gospel Church in Richland, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Margret McCarty.  Angeline supported every facet of the church that she loved so much from serving in the Deaconess Ministry to providing carpentry services when the church was first built.

Over Angeline’s employment tenure, she held various job titles.  As a CNA, she worked with Lillian Carter Nursing Center (Plains, Georgia), Ideal Nursing Home (Ideal, Georgia), and Home Health Care within surrounding counties.  Additionally, Angeline gained her commercial driver’s license and was employed with both Warner and KLLM Trucking Companies as a truck driver.

On a beautiful day in February of 1983, two hearts joined together and became one in holy matrimony when Elder Eddie Slaughter took Angeline Delores Terry as his wife.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Elder Eddie Slaughter of Buena Vista, Georgia, five children Jemil Slaughter of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Edna Slaughter Moses (Charlie) of Americus, Georgia, John Slaughter (Jenise Harris) of Jonesboro, Georgia, Akeem Slaughter of Atlanta, Georgia, and Khalila Muff of Buena Vista, Georgia; five grandchildren, Tahirah Slaughter, Kayla Harris, Johnny Muff, Jr., Khalil Muff, Kendall Muff, and Kennedy Moses; two step-grandchildren, Javonte Moses and Charliyah Moses; five siblings, Charlotte Tymes of Buena Vista, Georgia, Josephine Bellamy of Columbus, Georgia, Virginia Jackson of Americus, Georgia, Tom Terry (Shelia) of Albany, Georgia, Pastor Eddie Terry (Odessa) of Clarksville, Tennessee; one uncle, David Terry (Jean) of Scottsdale, Arizona; an aunt, Susie Bell Tolliver of West Columbia, South Carolina; brothers/sisters-in-law, Gary Slaughter (Linda) of Jacksonville, Georgia, Clyde Slaughter of Atlanta, Georgia, Louise and Lucille Slaughter both of Miami, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including three devoted nieces, Deborah Tymes, Yonna Daniel, and Cassandra Coley.  She also leaves to cherish her memory a devoted friend, Dorothy Beal of Bakersfield, California.

Alfore Byse, age 73, 347 Byse Avenue, Ideal, Georgia  passed on August 1, 2017 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus. Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Faith Memorial C.M.E. Church,  Brooks Road,  Ideal, Georgia. Burial will follow at the Hopewell Cemetery, Rupert, Macon County, Georgia.

Alfore was known to many loved ones and friends as “Buddy Byse” was born December 28, 1943 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Wille Ben Byse Sr. and Mamie Lou Howard Byse. He was the youngest of eleven siblings; nine of them, Owens Byse, Mattie Walker, Willie Ben Byse, Jr., Ulysses C. Byse, Monroe Byse, Fannie M. Glover, Marvin Byse, Eddie Byse, and Mamie Davis, preceded him in death. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County. He retired from Georgia Department of Transportation Thomaston, Georgia Division as a Foreman after 34 years of dedicated service. On August 29, 1964 he was joined in holy matrimony to Shirley Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories a beloved wife of 52 years, Shirley Smith-Byse, Ideal Georgia;  two children Thedy R. Byse, Warner Robins, Georgia, Willie Ben Byse, Ideal, Georgia; five grandchildren Brittany N. Gordon, Sher’ron M. Riley, Terrance Collins, Sher’rod M. Riley, and DeMarkus  Byse; a  great grandson Zaiden A. Brown; a brother Leonard “Charlie” Byse;  two aunts Vannie Howard and Ruthie Mae Howard both of Ideal, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Carrie Pearl Byse, Ideal, Georgia, Christine Byse, Louise Byse, both of Texas, Alice Townsend, Bettye A . Smith, both of Atlanta, Georgia, Doris Smith, Rex, Georgia, Helen Beasley, Atlanta, Georgia, Georgia- Ruth Velez, Barnesville, Georgia  and Ethel N. Smith Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including a devoted niece Cathy Green.
