The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, December 3, 2023, at William Grove Baptist Church, 71 Gill Street, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus, Georgia.

A wake service will be held from 4:00-5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

The funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church, 411 Cotton Avenue, Americus, Georgia. Burial will follow at Staley Memorial Gardens, Corner of Mayo Street and Southerfield Road, Americus, Georgia.

Mr. Henry B. Harris passed on Sunday, November 26, 2023.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at William Grove Baptist Church located at 71 Gill Street in Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, GA Highway 26, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Pastor Michael Edge will officiate.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 30, 2023, and Friday, December 1, 2023, at 4906 Georgia Highway 49 South, Andersonville, Georgia.

Henry was born April 8, 1945, to the late Leroy Harris, Sr. and Thelma Nash Harris in Schley County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by Mozelle H. Clemons, Joe Lewis Harris, and Irene Aldridge (Waymon). Henry B., BB, Rabbit, and Yoke as he was sometimes called by family and friends, was a very humble man. Henry B. never met a stranger. He always wore a smile. He was a very neat guy; he kept the yards just as he kept himself clean and always in order.   He was educated in the public school systems of Schley County.  
 
Growing up in a Christian home he learned that serving the Lord was a must. He was a member of William Grove Baptist Church in Ellaville where he served in the Men Ministry. In 2014 he was nominated as member of the year. He loved his Pastor, church family, and his many friends. He had a special love for his 49 line crew family and friends. 
 
He leaves to cherish his memories to his siblings, Betty Kleckley (Marshall), Atlanta, Georgia, Leroy Harris, Jr. (Martha), Helen Higgins (Nathaniel), Alice Glaze, Decatur, Georgia, and Vielene McHomes all of Andersonville, Georgia; brother-in-law William Clemons; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Annie Lee Tookes Hayes, age 77, passed on November 5, 2023.
 
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church, Hwy 26 West, Oglethorpe, Georgia.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Annie Lee Tookes Hayes was born in Oglethorpe, Macon County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon (Obie Bivens) Tookes, Sr. and was preceded in death by two siblings James Otis Tookes and Napoleon Tookes and one nephew Carlos Tookes. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County whereas she was a 1966 graduate of D. F. Douglass High School. 
 
Annie Lee married the love of her life, the late George William Hayes. Annie Lee was blessed to be the mother of two wonderful daughters and caregivers, Gwendolyn Youngblood Woods (Shakira), Phoenix, Arizona and Quantina Wooten, East Point, Georgia.
 
Annie grew up to be the oldest sister of Wynelle Tookes Walker, her caregiver, Oglethorpe, Georgia, brothers and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Annie) Tookes, Montezuma, Georgia and Custer Tookes, Oglethorpe, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews Keren Kerr (Stacy), James Otis Tooke Jr. (Erica), all of Knoxville, Tennessee, Karen Walker, Montezuma, Georgia, Portia Walker, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Shameka Walker, Perry, Georgia, Edward Walker (Robins), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Rodney Pernell Walker, Atlanta, Georgia, Derrick Walker, Charlotte North Carolina, Lonnie Turner, Seattle, Washington, Custer Tookes Jr., Kentucky, Cartez Tookes, (Keaudra), and Victor Tookes, Montezuma, Georgia; several great nieces, nephews; two devoted caregivers Ayanna Felton,  Aniya Shorter, and a host of beloved cousins and friends.

It is still hard sometimes to let go, that you are no longer on this earth.  But God called you to a better home in Heaven.
Although it has been 2 years, nothing is still the same.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 6, 2023, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 260 W. Allen Street, Leslie, Georgia. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Ira Lee Jones, affectionately known as Blimp, was born in Sumter County, Georgia on August 26, 1951. He was born to the late Mr. Eddie Lee Jones Sr. and the late Emma Spencer Jones. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County, Georgia. He was a graduate of the Sumter County Class of 1969. 

Early in life, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Tabernacle Baptist Church and Marthana Living Way of Christ.  Deacon Jones served the Lord faithfully as a dedicated member and deacon.   
                                                                                                                   
His career included employment with the Leslie Peanut Gin, NIDRAH Plantation Inc, Hickory Springs, Davidson Rubber Company, the Late Dr. John D. Marshall, and Annie Statham. 

Ira was a member of the Mason Lodge and A Few Good Men.

On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, Deacon Ira Jones' earthly journey came to a peaceful end. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mattie R Green Jones; his sister, Thelma McKenzie; his brothers, William Jones, Eddie Lee Jones, Jr., and Johnny Walker. 

He leaves cherished memories to his loving children, Peggy Green, Linda (Rickey) Mack, Tammie Durham, all of Americus, GA, Christopher (Denise) James of Quitman, GA, and Presley Jones of Leslie, GA; seventeen grandchildren, four oh which he reared as his own  Latoya Green, Alex Jordan, Jaquis Jones Sr.,  and Damion Jones; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Ossie Bishop of Leslie, GA; Mary Lee (Leroy) Preston of Stone Mountain, GA; three brothers, Jessie (Gladys) Timmons, Reverend Willie Edward Walker, and Calvin (Rosemery) Jones, all of Leslie, GA; his sisters-in-law, Hattie (Thomas) Ferguson, Barbara (Don) Spikes, Shirley Johnson, all of Americus, GA, Cynthia (Mike) Gilbert of Atlanta, GA, and Loretta Jones of Jacksonville, FL; his brothers-in-law, Minister Walter (Carolyn) Green of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Bishop Willie (JoAnn) Greene of Miami, FL; Reverend Joseph (Beverly) Greene of Kathleen, GA, Pastor Leroy (Sandra) Greene, and David (Shunda) Green both of Americus, GA; devoted cousins, Sally White, Dorothy Bridges, Gladys Jones, Carolyn Jones, and Shirleen Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include his special devoted friends, Leroy Thomas, Albert Mitchell, Clifford Walton, Charlie Stewart, J. C. Bryant, Flate Wright and Lawrence Williams.
