Katie Mae Ross, age 52, 46 East Old Buena Vista Street, Ellaville, Georgia passed Wednesday morning, April 22, 2015.
 
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 25,2015 at New Bethel Baptist Church, 2579 Georgia Highway 30, Americus, Georgia. Reverend Johnny L Sanders, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Friendship New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 30,  Americus, Georgia.
 
Katie was born February 27, 1963 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to the late Charlie W. Ross, Sr. and Alice Walker Ross.  Including her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Roosevelt Ross, Charlie Ross, Jr., Emma Ruth Ross, Marjarine Harp, Maggie Solomon and Willie Ross.  She was educated in the public school systems of Schley and Marion Counties.  Katie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the membership of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Sumter County.  Katie was a devout Christian, a loving mother, and a dedicated homemaker. She grew beautiful potted plants and her flower bed burst with beautiful colors.
 
She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories with her companion, Elijah Johnson, Jr., Ellaville, Georgia; four daughters, Katrina Ross (Ahmad Carter, Sr.), Stone Mountain, Georgia, Natasha Johnson (O’Brien Battle), Marsheika Johnson (Trevelis Jackson), and Dasia Johnson, all of Ellaville, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Shiriyah Battle, Ellaville, Georgia, Demarco Ross, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Quentiyanna Johnson, Ellaville, Georgia, Demarion Ross, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Azaria Battle, Jeremiah Johnson, and Jakai Johnson, all of Ellaville, Georgia, Ahmad Carter, Jr., and Ahmya Carter, both of Stone Mountain, Georgia; one sister, Marie Ross, Montezuma, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Mattie Waters, Smithville, Georgia, Bertha, Americus, Georgia, Dollie Ross, Ellaville, Georgia, and Emory Ross (Rosie Lee) Rochester, New York; two goddaughters, Audrey Thomas and Tonya Williams; a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends, including several devoted friends, Shearlean Thronton (Nathaniel), Ellaville, Georgia, Christine Solomon, Lilburn, Georgia, Joyce Ann, Ellaville, Georgia, Barbara Ann Middlebrooks, Ellaville, Georgia, Pamela Harvey, Atlanta, Georgia, and Pat Hollis, Americus, Georgia.

Alvin Jerome Standifer, age 58, 618 Lancing Lane, Montezuma, Georgia passed Friday morning, April 17, 2015 at the Phoebe Sumter Hospital, Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday morning, April 25, 2015 at First Salem Missionary  Baptist  Church,  191  Twin  Church  Road,  Montezuma,  Georgia, where Reverend Jeffrey Randle is Pastor. Reverend Alfred Wynn of Zion Hill Baptist Church of Montezuma, Georgia will officiate. Interment will follow in Champ Waters Cemetery, Montezuma, Georgia.

Alvin was born April 9, 1957 in Montezuma Macon County, Georgia to Bessie Kate Standifer and the late Conelius English.  One sister, Elaine Felton, preceded him in death. He was a 1975 graduate of the historic D. F. Douglass High School. After his completion of high school, he was employed with Southern Frozen Foods, Inc. for some twenty years as a packer. 

He leaves to cherish his precious and fond memories to his beloved mother, Bessie Standifer, Montezuma, Georgia; his siblings, Linda Simpson (Miles), Montezuma, Georgia, Beverly  Bass (Elijah), Austell, Georgia, Ronnie Standifer, Montezuma, Georgia, Milton English (Bessie), Marvis Kent English, and Anthony English, all of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Cheryl Smith (Conrad) Warner Robins, Georgia; one aunt, Viola E. Bailey, Oglethorpe, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews including five devoted, Valeria Kendrick (Charles), Montezuma, Georgia, Kim Bass, Austell, Georgia, Keith Bass (Shonta), Ellenwood, Georgia, Brian Bass (Shaunquetta), and Javerza Tookes, Montezuma, Georgia; a host of great nieces,  great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Whitney Sharda Robertson, age 26, 135 Ash Street, Apt 450-B Buena Vista, Georgia passed Saturday, April 11, 2015.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Evergreen  Baptist Church, Evergreen Road, Mauk, Georgia.  The Reverend Joseph Brown will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Connor Mill Road, Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia.  The remains will lay in state at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
 
Whitney was born July 4, 1988 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia to James Stanford Robertson, Sr. and Diane Minter Robertson. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Stanford  Robertson, Jr.  She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Carl S. and Margarine Williams Robertson, and her maternal grandfather, Sam Minter.
 
She acquired her education in the public school system of Marion County and her Christian training at the Evergreen Baptist Church of Mauk, Georgia.
 
Precious in the sight of God is the death of his saints.  Whitney was loved and cherished by her loving family and friends which include the following:  her devoted parents, James Stanford Robertson, Sr. (his fiancée, Vera Sykes), Ellaville, Georgia and her loving and devoted mother, Diane Minter Robertson of Buena Vista, Georgia;  her sister, Brianna S. Robertson, Ellaville, Georgia; her maternal grandmother, Johnnie B. Minter, Buena Vista, Georgia; niece, Niylah Sampson, Ellaville, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Regina Sales Lamarr, Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie Robertson, Larry Williams, both of Americus, Georgia, Samuel Lamar Minter, John Minter (Michelle), all of Buena Vista, Georgia, Timothy Minter (Lisa) Seattle, Washington and Jeffery Minter (Shadonna), Columbus, Georgia; great aunts/uncles, Corine Respert and Mary B. Chester Ruff, age 68, Ellaville Georgia passed Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Phoebe Sumter Hospital, Americus, Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Church International, Oglethorpe Street, Ellaville, Georgia, where Elder Jessie Carson is pastor. The Reverend Clinton Aldridge, pastor of Quebec Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Dozier Road, Ellaville, Georgia.
 
Chester Ruff was born November 18, 1946 to the late T. J. Ruff and Katie Edwards in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia.  He was educated in the public school system of Schley County, Georgia. He attended John Lewis High School.  At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.   Chester was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ruff. He was well known in Schley County.  Chester was employed with Dave West Logging Company of Ellaville, Georgia as a logger.
 
Chester Ruff leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted companion, Earnestine H. Frazier, Ellaville, Georgia; aunt, Inez Trice, Saint Petersburg, Florida; stepchildren, Willie Frazier, Alonzo Frazier, Herbert Frazier (Veronica) and Marilyn Frazier; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; devoted cousins, Larry Edwards (Bertha), Ellaville, Georgia, Evelyn Andrews, Albany, Georgia, David Milliner (Maggie), Albany, Georgia, Emma Milliner, Bayonne, New Jersey, Mary Milliner, Bayonne, New Jersey, Louise Edwards, Americus, Georgia, Clyde L. Mr. Maurice Eugene Turner, age 44, 1215 Oakfield Drive, Atlanta, Georgia passed away on April 1,2015.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at First Salem Baptist Church, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

Mr. Maurice Eugene Turner, the son of the late Charles  E. Turner and Elizabeth Turner, was born August 29, 1969 in Atlanta, Georgia. He accepted Christ at an early age and later joined First Iconium Baptist Church  in Atlanta, Georgia. Maurice was a graduate of Walker High School in Atlanta, Georgia in 1987. He also attended Dekalb Junior College. He loved his son and family very much.  He had a passion for music and photography. He started his career at Northside Hospital, where he worked 23 years.
 
His father and brother preceded him in death.

Mrs. Mattie Bell Gardner Haynes, Georgia Highway 26 East, Ellaville, Georgia passed Friday, April 3, 2015 at her residence.
 
A wake service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday morning, April 8, 2015 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1908 Dozier Road, Ellaville, Georgia. Reverend William Laster, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
 
Mattie Belle Haynes was born January 30, 1926 in Columbus, Chattahoochee County, Georgia to the late John D. Gardner and the late Annie Lee Gardner Thornton. Her husband, Dallas Haynes, three sons, Robert L. McIntosh, Jerry Haynes, and Ernest Haynes, preceded her in death.
 
She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of her beloved Pastor, William Laster.
 
She leaves to cherish her memories: five children, Carol Wells and David McIntosh, both of Columbus, Georgia, Mary Haynes Storey (Milton) and Martha Haynes Shelton, all of Ellaville, Georgia and Gloria Haynes Wright, Woodstock, Georgia; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Haynes, Ellaville, Georgia and Marsha McIntosh, Clayton, North Carolina; brothers/sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Haynes and James Haynes (Cora Lee), all of Ellaville, Georgia, Sallie Haynes, Ethel Haynes, Mildred Gordon and Harry Haynes (Mattie), all of Atlanta, Georgia, Mattie Lee, Decatur, Georgia, Mary Williams (Lue Ellen) Covington, Georgia and Stewart McIntosh (Carrie), Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a beloved son whom she helped to rear, Gregory Oliver (Wanda), Oglethorpe, Georgia; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
