​Causwello “Deedee” Dementric Baldwin, age 43, a native of Dooly County and a citizen of Macon, Georgia, passed Monday, May 25, 2020 at the Coliseum Medical Center, Macon, Georgia.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 125 Bethlehem Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia. The Reverend Jerry Sanders, pastor, will officiate.

Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.

Causwello was born July 28, 1976 in Vienna, Dooly County, Georgia to Mary Baldwin King and the late Lewis Merrell. She acquired her education in the Dooly County public school system. At an early age she joined the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Dooling, Georgia. She was employed with IHOP of Macon, Georgia for a number of years as the restaurant manager and later was manager of Arby's of Macon. 

Being the mother of five children, she was preceded in death by one son, Dequan Baldwin. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Cornelius Baldwin.

She is survived by a dear and devoted mother, Mary Baldwin King, Dooling, Georgia; four children, Angelica Baldwin, Brianna Baldwin and Wendell Jones, Jr. all of Macon, Georgia and Jakayla Baldwin, Dooling, Georgia; six grandchildren; one sister and three brothers, Varonica Baldwin, Buffalo, New York, Willie Thomas, Macon, Georgia Towan Harris, Cordele, Georgia, and Deon Merrell, Montezuma, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Clara Leary, Warner Robins, Georgia, Wilbert Merrell (Linda), Montezuma, Georgia, Paul Merrell, Atlanta, Georgia, Arthur L. Merrell (Denise), Stone Mountain, Georgia, Ricky Merrell (Tamica), Unadilla, Georgia, Bobby L. Merrell (Jackie), Pinehurst, Georgia, Antonya Merrell (Andrea) Hinesville, Georgia and Doris Merrell, Vienna, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

​Carrion “Calvin” Manson, age 81, 206 Joshua Street, Perry, Georgia passed Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Augusta University Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia. 
 
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery, 2095 Butler's Mill Rd., Reynolds, Georgia.

​Carrion was born October 1, 1938 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Walter Manson and Lovie Ruth Gouch Manson.  He was educated in the public school system of Macon County where he attended the historic Rocky Mount School of Garden Valley Community.

Carrion was preceded in death by one sister, Lovie Manson Gipson, and four brothers, Joe Manson, Walter Lee Manson, Emmitt Manson and Albert Manson.

Carrion was united in holy matrimony to the former Carmen V. Maizonette; to this union they were blessed with five children.

He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Perry, Georgia.

He was retired from Wiremold Company as tool and die operator after thirty-six years of dedicated services.

He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his beloved wife of thirty-two years, Carmen Manson, Perry, Georgia; five children, Calvin Manson (Marilyn), Mark Manson (Jannette), Martin Manson (Stephanie) all of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Edgar G. Huertas, III (Yolanda) Springfield, MA; and Valentina De La Rosa (Luis Enrique) Haynesville, Georgia; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eight siblings, Lizzie B.  Manson, Cromwell, Connecticut, Richard Manson (Geraldine), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Samuel Manson, Atlanta, Georgia, Burnette Waye (James), Snellville, Georgia, Luther E. Erie Mae Calvin passed on May 22, 2020 at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Erie Mae Smith Calvin was born May 10, 1943 to the parentage of the late Willard Smith Sr. and the late Lola Brown Smith in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by Willard Smith, Jr. Elgin Smith, Lillie Smith, Annie Smith Harris, and Josh Canady. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County where she attended the historic D. F. Douglass High School.  Being reared in a Christian family she accepted Chris as her personal Savior and joined the Zion Grove Baptist Church under leadership of the late Rev. E. L. Clark.  She later moved her membership to Inspirational Church By Faith, where she served under Elder Larry Taylor. She actively attended Shipp Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Daniel Clinton. She retired from Magnolia Manor Nursing Center  as a Nurse's Aid in 2010.

Johnny Gilbert Lockhart was born June 26, 1961 to the late Willie Arthur Lockhart, Sr. and the late Mamie Hill in Sumter County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Hill, and a nephew, Samuel Bernard Hill. Johnny was a 1979 graduate of Sumter County High School. He was employed with Georgia Southwestern University as a landscaper for over 15 years.

He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his daughter, Zariyah Mitchell and his companion, Tonya Mitchell Bishop both of Americus, Georgia; three siblings, Willie Arthur Lockhart, Jr., Willie Ann Humphries Kimbrough (Bernard) all of Americus, Georgia and Aldean Lockhart, Newark, New Jersey; stepchildren, Christopher Garry of Macon Georgia Wyshenica Garry of Americus Georgia; his aunts and uncles include, Ella Green, Atlanta, Georgia, Ola Baisden, Edward Lockhart (Eva Nell), Robert Lockhart, J. D. Carolyn Linda Harris was born in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late James Harris and the late Blanchie Harris. Toolie, as she was affectionately called by her parents and loved ones, was a well behaved and a loving child.  She was a 1981 graduate of the historic D. F. Douglass High School. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Scott and Ethel Bishop.  She was employed with the Macon County Sheriff Department under the administration of Sheriff Charles Cannon and currently under Sheriff Leonard Johnson.  She filled many jobs titles with the department which included jailer, cook, and social worker for over twenty years.

She was a dedicated member of the First Salem Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board Ministry and supported every ministry of the church she loved so well.  She would greet and welcome all the church worshippers with those big lovely eyes and made sure they were welcome.

On Monday evening, the Lord said, “Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant, you been faithful over a few things, now I’ll make you ruler over many.”   Toolie, we will miss you from serving down here.

A precious one from us is gone, a voice we love is still, a place is vacant in our heart will never more be filled. Survivors include her daughter, Chelsey Harris and her granddaughter, Kamari McCloud, both of Montezuma, Georgia; her siblings and their spouses, Jamesetta Harris, Montezuma, Georgia, Johnnie Mae Tookes (Nathaniel), Perry, Georgia, Barbara Ann Wishop (Bruce) , Shirley Smith (Anthony) all of Montezuma, Georgia, Ruby Wishop, Lakeland, Florida, Ann Campbell (Noel), Leesburg, Florida; Penellia Fay Lloyd, Pennsylvania; Dorothy Ann McKenzie, Annett McKenzie, Mary McKenzie, Shirley McKenzie, Billy Shelley (Ruthie) all of Montezuma, Georgia, Jerome McKenzie, Zebulon, Georgia, Ricky McKenzie (Victoria) Dooling, Georgia, Keith McKenzie, Reynolds, Georgia, John McKenzie, Jr., New York; a loving and dedicated uncle, Reverend Alfred Wynn, Montezuma, Georgia and a host of beloved nieces and nephews including one devoted nephew Demeric Kendrick; uncle and aunts;  Rev. Karen Denise Wiggins transitioned to her eternal home on April 22, 2020. Karen was born on March 15, 1960 to the late Virginia English Norman and Cornelius Smith, in Jacksonville, FL. She was known to her family and friends as Denise, or “Niecy.” 

Denise graduated from Boys and Girls High School in 1978; shortly after graduating high school, Denise attended college for a year and half and worked at Macys. She also worked as a Security Guard for NYC housing authority, and later working as a Home Health Aide. Denise had a passion for music and dancing, and she enjoyed helping the children in our family with school work. She was always concerned of the well-being of her family and friends. 

Denise was known to be the life of the party, no matter what the occasion. She would light up the dance floor with her dancing moves, and beautiful voice, she was known by her friends as the Diva of the dance floor. Denise kept the family connected by reminding us of birthdays, anniversaries, or just a simple doing well notice. She brings a smile or laughter to everyone she come in contact with by singing, dancing, joking or just showing them unconditional love. 

Denise was a God-fearing woman, and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She knows the bible from front to back, and she had very strong faith. Denise was preceded in death by her uncle, Alfred English, Sr. and her brother, Kenneth Tyrone Wiggins, Sr. She is survived by her three brothers, Gregory “La” Wiggins (Karen), Cedric Wiggins (Swayzine), John “Bo” Norman and her sister Shirley Mitchell. Denise leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as friends.

Brother Homer Floyd, age 74, 807 Park Row, Americus, Georgia passed Tuesday morning, May 12, 2020 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 16, 2020 at the Eastview Cemetery, 500 Block of Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.  Reverend Larry Sims, pastor of Union Tabernacle Baptist Church, will officiate.

Brother Homer Floyd was born August 3, 1945 in the Huntington Community, Sumter County, Georgia to the late Jesse Lee Floyd and the late Annie Mae Hall Floyd.

He acquired his education in the public school system of Sumter County and his Christian training in the local churches.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the band of believers at the Union Tabernacle Baptist Church.  He served on various committees of the church ministry which included the Service Committee.

After several years of dedicated services he retired from Textron Automotive in 2007 as a Shipping & Receiving Clerk.

He was united in holy matrimony to the former Cassie Alma Greene in 1973.  He was blessed to be the father of four children; one son, Dexter Munns, preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Jesse Dean Floyd, Jesse Lee Floyd, Jr. and Robert James Floyd. 

He is survived by a loving and devoted wife, Cassie Floyd, Americus, Georgia; three children and their spouses, Deon Williams (Sandrea) and Cassandra Floyd Jones (Christopher) all of Americus, Georgia and Deja Betty Mable, Birmingham, Alabama; four siblings, and their spouses, Annie Ruth Pride (James), Otha Lee Floyd (Lorene), Frank Floyd (Clara) and Walter Lee Floyd (Erma) all of Americus, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Christopher Colton (Tiara) Jones, Chandler Tyrese Jones, Chase Cameron Jones, Caimen Deon Williams, Aiden Maurice Williams, Brandon Hayes, Amos Hayes and Bernice Hayes; three great grandchildren, Skylar Jones, Londyn Jones and Christopher Dylan Jones; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eddie Lee Westbrook

Eddie was born August  15,1950 to the late Eddie Lee Johnson Westbrook Sr. and Leona Hargrove Westbrook. He was a 1968 graduate of Lee Co. High Training School of Leesburg, Georgia. He was united in holy wedlock to Annett Cook Westbrook and to this union three children were born. He was a 1982 drafting graduate of South Georgia Technical College and later went on to Georgia Southwestern College where he pursued a degree in journalism.  He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he  served as a choir member. For over 20 years he worked with Davison/Textron he then went on to work with West Cast Casting for over four years as a Quality Engineer.

He was preceded in death by siblings Jim Westbrook, C.T. Westbrook, Willie Westbrook, Calvin Westbrook, and Linda Faye Marshall; He was author of truth and friction “Looking up from Down and Under”.

He leaves to cherish his memories: four children Belinda Williams (Donald),  Eddie  Bernard Westbrook (fiancée, Tiffany Goggins),  Bland Ray, and Paula Cook, all of Americus, Georgia;  five siblings, Otis Westbrook, Desoto, Georgia, Robert Westbrook, Kathleen, Georgia, Louise Barthell, Americus, Georgia, Brinda Sedgwick (Everett), Alexandria, Virginia, John Clark (Regina), Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law, Lela Westbrook, Cordele, Georgia;  a host of nieces, nephews  other relatives and friends including devoted friend Willie Johnson and his family in Americus, Georgia.

Emmett Preston Lockhart

Emmett Preston Lockhart, age 79, passed May 11, 2020 at the Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 15, 2020 at Felton Chapel  Church, Georgia Highway 128, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

​Emmett Preston Lockhart was born on November 29, 1940 to the parentage of the late Ella Mae Lockhart-Webb and the late Jesse L. Lockhart. He departed this life on May 11, 2020 at Houston County Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. 

Emmett Lockhart has an astonishing list of accomplishments to his credit. He was a scholar achieving honors & a star player on the basketball team at D. F. Douglass High. Emmett attended Fort Valley State College. 

He served in the United States Navy on board the USS Philippine as a V1-Div Petty Officer 2nd Class  in 1955  and honorably discharged in 1961 . 

He worked with Dr. Derrick in Macon County for years with the Veterinarian field.

He obtained a Pilot’s license following in the footsteps of his father Jesse Lockhart who was the black pilot to come out of Macon County.

He worked as a D.J. at the local radio station in Montezuma Ga. affectionately known as “Doctor Jive”

Emmett apprenticed with is his uncle in Chicago, Ill in Mortuary Science  for many years.

He completed Diesel Driving Academy in May of 1997 to be a Driver, and completed The Diesel Driving Academy on June 30th 2004 to become a certified Third Party Examiner.

He worked in the Mental Health field for years helping the mentally challenged with education & coping skills. 

He was leader in the community achieving the highest honors as a 33 degree in the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of the Northern Jurisdiction of the United States (Prince Hall Affiliation) achieving this honor in March 19th, 1984

He was never an idle man; he worked well into his senior year past retirement age, as School Bus Driver for Transportation Department with the Houston County School System and retired with the board of Education after 10 years of service on May 9, 2017. He lived out the remaining days of his life in leisure visiting with friends & enjoying with family.

His memories will forever be cherished by his devoted life partner: Maggie Thomas of Fort Valley, GA, his children with the late Lena Hicks Lockhart: Dorothy (James) Reynolds and Larry Hicks-Lockhart of Warner Robins, GA, Dr. Dallas (Dominko) Lockhart Anderson of Centerville, GA, Preston (Belinda) Lockhart of Henderson, GA, Diane Lockhart of Lithonia, GA, Valerie (Johnny) Lockhart-Snear of Byron, GA, Trenton Lockhart, Jonesboro, GA his son from a previous marriage, his sister: Dr. Jacqueline (Joseph) Webb Ricardson of Frisco, TX, his brothers who preceded him in death: Jesse Lockhart, James Lockhart, and Hiram Lockhart, his sisters-in-law: Agnes Hicks of Oglethorpe, GA, Pearlene (Sammy) Wiggins of Orlando, FL, and Barbara Ann Lockhart of Montezuma, GA, 18 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, his devoted cousins: Mary Lockhart, Patty Lockhart, and Belinda Moore.
