Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Old Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Brown Small Road, Americus, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Johnny Gilbert Lockhart was born June 26, 1961 to the late Willie Arthur Lockhart, Sr. and the late Mamie Hill in Sumter County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Hill, and a nephew, Samuel Bernard Hill. Johnny was a 1979 graduate of Sumter County High School. He was employed with Georgia Southwestern University as a landscaper for over 15 years.
He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his daughter, Zariyah Mitchell and his companion, Tonya Mitchell Bishop both of Americus, Georgia; three siblings, Willie Arthur Lockhart, Jr., Willie Ann Humphries Kimbrough (Bernard) all of Americus, Georgia and Aldean Lockhart, Newark, New Jersey; stepchildren, Christopher Garry of Macon Georgia Wyshenica Garry of Americus Georgia; his aunts and uncles include, Ella Green, Atlanta, Georgia, Ola Baisden, Edward Lockhart (Eva Nell), Robert Lockhart, J. D. Lockhart, and Charlie Lockhart all of Americus, Georgia; his step mother, Queenie Lockhart, Swainsboro, Georgia; and beloved nieces, nephews, all of whom he helped raised as his own Anglia Cooper, Albany, Georgia, Shayonda Lockhart both of Albany, Georgia, Tyeeshia Lockhart Sloan (Curtis), Covery Hill (Marissa), Jackie Hill, Kolby Lockhart, Gayle Lockhart, Betty Burks, Anquette Sims, Quontavis Sims and Americus, Georgia, a devoted friend Ramon McCay, of Americus, Georgia and host of other loving relatives and friends.
