Alice Terry

Ms. Alice Terry, age 78, of Buena Vista, Georgia passed Tuesday morning, February 12, 2008.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 111 Walnut Street, Montezuma, Georgia.  Interment will follow in the Rocky Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Concord Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Alice was born August 1, 1929 in Schley County, Georgia to the late Iris "Buddy" Stewart and Gennie Mae Johnson.  She earned her education in the public school system of Schley County.  Later in life, she moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she became a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. After twenty years, Alice moved back to her native Georgia in 1999 and also moved her membership to the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Montezuma, Georgia.

Alice was the wife of the late John Henry Terry.  To this union, eleven children were born.  Two children preceded her in death - Enoch Terry and Donny Terry.

Survivors include her children, Woodrow Terry (Angela), Buena Vista, Georgia, Emma Gene Dupree (Charlie Lewis), Ellaville, Georgia, Eddie L. Terry (Regina), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Gloria Reddick, Americus, Georgia, Johnny Terry, Ellaville, Georgia, Roger Terry, England, Constance "Tina" Terry, Albany, Georgia, Jamal Terry (Lakisha), Atlanta, Georgia, and Tyrone Terry (Kimberly), Detroit, Michigan and siblings, Vivian Strickland (Eddie B.), Atlanta, Georgia, Lovie Jane Owens (Marcellus), Ellaville, Georgia, Eddie L. Stewart (Mary), Atlanta, Georgia, Raymond Stewart (Sharon), Atlanta, Georgia, Annie Joyce Stewart, Miramar, Florida, Harold Stewart (Sharon), Miami Gardens, Florida, Howard Stewart, Linda Jean Stewart, both of Miramar, Florida, Elbert Stewart (Jacqueline), Coral Springs, Florida, Jerry Stewart (Vinet), Miami Gardens, Florida, and Lizzie McNeal, Detroit, Michigan.  Also included are a host of grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

C.L. Meadows

Mr. C.L. Meadows, age 69, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Medical Center in Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday morning, February 14, 2008 at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, Corner of Russell and Johnson Streets, Oglethorpe, Georgia.  The Reverend Norris Harris, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

C.L. was born in Macon County, Georgia March 20, 1938 to Jossie Mae Williams Meadows and the late Deacon M.C. Meadows.  He was preceded in death by two siblings - Gloria and Jimmie Meadows.  He was educated in the public school system of Macon County, Georgia.  He served in the United States Army Reserve. He retired as a bus driver from the Macon County Board of Education in 2003 and also served dutifully as the secretary and treasurer of the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. and operated the Meadows' Vault Company.

He will be remembered by his beloved wife, Marie English Meadows, Oglethorpe, Georgia; children, Carla Mendes (Dwight), Alpharetta, Georgia, Anita Mitchell (Sam), Peachtree City, Georgia, Pamela Taylor (Neal), Ellenwood, Georgia, Dr. Marcus Meadows (Dr. Nikki), Bowie, Maryland; mother, Jossie Mae Meadows, Oglethorpe, Georgia; grandchildren, Nicolas Lea, Orlando, Florida, Briana Mendes, Alpharetta, Georgia, Morgann J. Mitchell, Maya Mitchell, Rhegan Mitchell, Rhana Mitchell, all of Peachtree City, Georgia, Jalen Taylor, and Ryan Taylor, both of Ellenwood, Georgia; siblings, A.C. Meadows (Doris), Albany, Georgia, William C. Meadows (Joanne), Atlanta, Georgia, Thomas E. Meadows (Lutherine), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Morris Meadows (Norma), Albany, Georgia, Gretha M. Perry (Freddie), Andersonville, Georgia, Lee Willie Meadows, Atlanta, Georgia, and Tammy Meadows Djedje, Alto, Georgia; brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law, Willie Ree Harmon (Carrie), Chicago, Illinois and John Bailey (Evelyn), Miami, Florida; aunts and uncles, Elouise West, Beulah Griffin, Sallie Anna Little, Betty Duncan (Joe), all of Ideal, Georgia, Dessie Taylor (A.J.), Atlanta, Georgia, Ola Mae Turner, Ideal, Georgia, Viola E. Bailey, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Anna Meadows, Atlanta, Georgia, Ann Williams, Brooklyn, New York, Ernestine Williams, Jacksonville, Florida, and Mary Lizzie Fish, Oglethorpe, Georgia; and devoted cousin, Lucille Harris, Macon, Georgia.  Also included are a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, including devoted friends, Samuel McDonald, Andersonville, Georgia, George Walker, Willie McCrary, both of Ideal, Georgia, Jarius Mann, Atlanta, Georgia, and the rest of the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc.
