Ressie Lee Glass Radney, age 77, passed on June 26, 2021.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 3, 2021, St. Paul C.M.E. Church, Hwy 26 East, Buena Vista, Georgia.

Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.

Ressie Lee Glass Radney was born March 13, 1944 in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia to the late Mac Arthur Glass and the late Hattie Hall Glass. 

Ressie was the mother of three children, one daughter, Patricia, preceded her in death. Born in a family of 7 siblings, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Sam Glass, John Arthur Glass and Mack Glass.  Ressie was educated in the public school system of Marion County and graduated in 1962 from Buena Vista High School. Ressie was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church whereas she dutifully served on the Kitchen and Hospitality Committee and Mother Board. After many years of dedicated services she retired from Davison Rubber Company of Americus, Georgia as a Line Supervisor.

Ressie was married to the late Arthur Radney Jr. who preceded her in death, May 5, 2021.  They were a blessed and happy couple for forty-one years.

The life she lived, the love she shared and her fond memories will long be remembered by her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchildren and her siblings. Life’s path is more easily traveled with the company of family,  Thanks to my two children, Larry Napper, Sr. and Gwendolyn Nesbit of Snellville, Georgia, My granddaughter’s shoulder that I leaned on, Thank You Mackenzie Carson;  my five grandson and my heroes, Patrick Napper, Larry Napper Jr., Brandon Napper, David Nesbit Jr.,  and Denzel Nesbit.  To my sisters whom I grew up with, I truly loved you guys, Joanne Little (Jimmy), Shirley Napper, and Leearthis Johnson (Robert) all from Brooklyn, New York, aunt Emma Jean Jackson, St. Petersburg, Florida ; to my brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, a big shout out to you all, John Radney (Monica), Columbus, Georgia, Rosie B. Radney Jackson and Renee Brown Glass of Buena Vista, Georgia; and to all my nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends, I love all of you.

Committal services for Mr. Alfred (Who-Let) Fulks will be held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Hwy 26, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

​Mr. Alfred (Who-Let) Fulks was born July 3, 1955 in Macon, Georgia to the late Mr. Henry L. Fulks and Mrs. Louise Fulks. He was educated in the Detroit Public School system. Alfred was a hardworking man. Alfred worked for many different companies. He had lots of gifts and talents which included him doing landscaping work, machine shop, etc. He also enjoyed fishing in his free time. Alfred was a self-taught man; he did a lot of things on the side. Alfred was a loving father to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

On Saturday, June 5, 2021, Alfred made his transition to join his daughter, Dominique Lloyd, and his granddaughter, Destiny Williams, who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories his five children, Ruby Normant, Derrick Williams, Elessha Johnson, Jameela Johnson, and Natosha Lloyd. He also leaves to cherish his thirteen grandkids, Christeena, Kierra, Aerin, Sydni, Deion, Jameel, Kieyana, Vincent Jr., Dakota, Dierre, Kennady, Emarrie, and Reginald Jr. He also leaves his five great grandchildren to cherish his memory. Alfred was born into a family of ten siblings who he leaves to cherish his memory: Charles Fulks (Rosemary), April Holland, Phyllis Morgan, Henry Fulks Jr. (Kym), Kim Fulks, Christopher Fulks (Lakina), Arthur Fulks, Isaac Fulks, and Michelle Davis. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lucy Lee Carter, age 71, passed on June 20, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.

Mrs. Lucy Lee Hawkins Carter was born in the county of Sumter and the city of Americus, Georgia to the late Zim Hawkins and the late Fannie Mae Hawkins.  Being reared up in Sumter County, she was educated in the public school system of Americus, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Lee Pine; Being the beloved companion of the late Lyn Bell Little she became the beloved caretakers of his daughters, Daisy and Desarae and it was vice-versa with Lucy.  They loved Lucy as well as they loved their mother.

The Bible says, “Who can find a virtuous  woman, for her price is far above rubies. (Proverb31:10)

The scripture also says, “Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee.”

Lucy enjoyed cooking, fishing and working in her garden and flower bed.  She had one of the best hands in raising collard greens, tomatoes and hot peppers. And most of all she enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends.

She leaves a legacy of love and many fonds memories to her beloved siblings, Ceola Washington, Catherine Hawkins, Willie C. Hawkins and Clarence Hawkins;

A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives including Daisy Little and family, Desarae Blakely and family and the All Ways Caring Home Care and family and a devoted caregiver, Barbara Burts.

Deacon Roosevelt Meadows, age 77, 102 Gene Wilburn Road, Ideal, Georgia passed Saturday, June 12, 2021 in the surrounding of his family.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Felton Chapel Independent Church Cemetery, Hwy 128, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Roosevelt  Meadows was born April 4, 1944 in Ideal, Macon County, Georgia to the late Johnny Meadows and the late Marie Ellis.  He was preceded in death by  two siblings Johnnie L. Ellis and Lizzie Mae Ellis.  Growing up in the Ideal community Roosevelt was educated the public school  system of Macon County.

He gave his life to Christ in the year of 1999; he confessed salvation and received the gift of the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Pastor Annie P. Williams  at the Upper Room Apostolic Holiness Church. He continued in the Apostolic Faith as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Michael Burden. He served his church faithfully in all aspects until his passing.

Roosevelt was married to Emily Snipes Meadows on July 19, 1965 - October 5, 2001, and to this union eight girls were born and raised. Emily also precedes him in death. On November 24, 2004, Roosevelt give love a second chance and united in holy matrimony to the former Gloria Jean Hudson and to this union he received two bonus daughters.

Deacon Meadows always believed in hard work and providing for his family, and after many years of dedicated services he retired from Mulcoa of Andersonville, Ga. as a large machine operator.  He was a man of wisdom and had many talents. He was a  dedicated husband, father and man-of-all-work.

He leaves to mourn his wife and family which include his beloved wife of sixteen years, Gloria Jean Hudson Meadows, Ideal, Georgia; his loving eight children and their spouses which include Pamela Meadows Carter (Irwin), Miami, Florida, Sheila Meadows Nelson (Terence) Ideal, Georgia, Gwendolyn Meadows Walker (Keith Caldwell) Warner Robins, Georgia, Kecia Meadows Putman (Tony), Centerville, Georgia, Thresa Meadows Quarles (Anthony) Clarksville, Tennessee, Rhoda  Meadows, Montezuma, Georgia, Tymetheus Meadows, Byron, Georgia and Princeetta Meadows Govner (Marcus), Byron, Georgia; two stepdaughters, Kenya Hall, Memphis, Tennessee and Kolola Hall, Ideal, Georgia;

Fifteen grandchildren which include Irwin Carter, Shanna Carter, Shemar Carter, Terrance Nelson, Jr., Maurice Nelson, Yasmine Walker, Marcus Harris, Cameron Vohnoutka, Christian Meadows, Marquise Meadows, Dequincey  Meadows, D’juan Smith, Emily Smith; Great grandchildren, Charity Carter, Treasure Carter, Prince Nelson, Desiree Smith; three siblings, Clarice Hicks, M.L. Ellis, and Alma Ree Ellis all of Atlanta, Georgia;  granddaughters-in-law, Kira Nelson, Precious McCrary, Desiree Carter, Deandra Wright Smith and Kaneisha Tookes; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maxine Hudson Raines (Melvin), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Ernestine Hudson Livingston, Ideal, Georgia, and Minister Allen Hudson (Patricia), Albany, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and his devoted dog - Shawty.

Roderick Kenneth Harp was born to Eddie Harp Sr. and Earlene Harp on February 21, 1975. He spent his life in Macon Co. where he graduated from D.F. Douglass High. He was a self-employed truck driver for over 20 years. Roderick was recently employed at Amazon Corp in Americus, Georgia.

Roderick was a very good husband, father, grandfather and friends. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife of 26 years, Valerie Renee Harp, and his 3 children, Ki’Andria Glover of Byron, Georgia, Nichondria Harp and Rakeem Harp of Montezuma, Georgia. His love will be remembered through the grandchildren that he leaves behind Sincere and Saige Washington and Laila Mainor.

To treasure his memory, he leaves his loving parents, Eddie Lee Harp Sr. and Earlene Harp, and four brothers, Eddie Lee Harp Jr., Sanford (Christine) Harp of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Milton (Keiko) Harp of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sammie Harp of Americus, GA. He also leaves cherish his memory, two sisters, Sheena McDonald, Windsor, Connecticut and Brenda (Clennon) James of Perry, Georgia and his aunts, Ozie (Harvey) Edge of Montezuma, Georgia, Betty Walker, Aridean Clark, Virginia (Phil) Whitehead of Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Roderick leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends to remember him.

Hayward Wesley Walton, Jr., “Whipple Snapple”, age 61, 241 Minter Street, Buena Vista, Georgia passed on Friday, May 28, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Josh Gibson Center, 116 Roger Street, Buena Vista, Georgia. Burial will follow at Tazewell City Cemetery, Tazewell, Georgia.

Hayward was born January 3, 1960 to Annie Rose Walton and the late Hayward Walton, Sr. in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia.  He was a 1977 graduate of Tri-County High School and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Ward Snider Trucking Company as a tractor trailer driver.

He leaves to cherish his memories five children, Marquita Walton, Buena Vista, Georgia, Hayward Walton, III (Shenericka), Hampton, Georgia, Naisasha Walton, Buena Vista, Georgia, Quantez Freeman, and Quantia Freeman both of Columbus, Georgia; mother, Annie Rose Walton, Buena Vista, Georgia; seven grandchildren, DeChristian Hollis, Christiyunna Hollis and Alanna Hollis all of Buena Vista, Georgia, Kayden Walton, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Legend Freeman, Columbus, Georgia, Ayla Walton, Hampton, Georgia and Greyson Freeman, Columbus, Georgia; five siblings, Annie Catherine Irving (Curtis), Columbus, Georgia, Harrell C.
