Dalvin Kentrell Smith, age 20, passed on February 24, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00  P.M., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at St. James C.M.E., 215 Railroad Street, Marshallville, Georgia. Burial will follow at Colonial Felton Cemetery, Marshallville, Georgia.  

Dalvin Kentrell Smith was born on April 8, 1997 in Perry, Georgia to Kimbrisha Smith and Talverton Taylor Sr. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Herbert Barner. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County.  He was employed with various company including Turf Grass, Tyson, and Blue Bird Body Company as a Line Technician.  He loved kids and enjoying making people laugh. He also enjoyed dancing showing off his smooth moves.  Dalvin served as a mentor through the Marshallville Mentors.

He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Kimbrisha Smith Brown (Travis), Marshallville, Georgia, Talverton Taylor ( Michelle),  of Covington, Georgia; nine siblings,  Keishon Smith, Rashad Smith, Jamecia Smith, Kimbrisha Walters, all of Marshallville, Georgia  Niyonna Taylor, Perry, Georgia  Tahmad Taylor, Conyers, Georgia, Talverton Taylor Jr., Covington, Georgia,  Keaston Taylor, Americus, Georgia  and  Toni Taylor, Covington, Georgia; grandparents, Betty Jean Smith, Barbara Taylor, both Marshallville,  Georgia, Willie Walton Jr.  (Bettye) of Fort Valley, Georgia; two great grandmothers,  Katie Mae Collier, Montezuma, Georgia and Altomese Taylor; aunts/uncles Latasha Barner, Rodrick Smith, Larry Brown, all of Marshallville, Georgia  Herbert Barner, Fort Meyers, Florida, Shanmaria Davis (Jerome), Macon, Georgia and Shonta Walton (Shertavia), Atlanta, Georgia,  a host of great aunts/ uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including a devoted companion, Alicia York, Atlanta, Georgia.

Bertha Mae Walker Walton, age 83, 1237 Highway 26 East, Buena Vista, Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Moody Road, Tazewell, Georgia. Rev. Joe Oglesby, Pastor will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Church cemetery. 
 
Bertha was born May 30, 1934 to the late Robert Walker Sr., Janie Clifford Walker in Marion County, Georgia.       
 
She was one of fourteen children with five siblings preceding her in death Paul Walker, Robert Walker, Handsome Walker, Albert Walker, and J.C. Walker. 
 
She acquired her education in Marion County Public School System.  She joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church at the age of 14 and supported every facet of the church she loved so well.  She was a member of the Marion County Senior Citizen Group.
 
She was united in holy matrimony to late Willie Clarence Walton.  She was blessed to be the mother of nine children; one preceded her in death, Bobby Ramsey, and one grandson, Sherrod Ramsey. 
 
She leaves to cherish her memories children, Johnny Ramsey (Brinda), Palm Bay, Florida, Robert Ramsey, Jerome Ramsey (Mozelle), Beverly Crumbley (Irvin), and Brenda Walton (Robert Cotton) all of Buena Vista, Georgia, Dyie Ann  Berryhill (John ) Americus, Georgia, Jimmy Ramsey, Miami, Florida, and Dennis Ramsey, Tallahassee, Florida; eighteen grandchildren twenty great grandchildren; siblings Sarah Vauss, Decatur, Georgia, Arthur Walker (Mary Alice), Kissimee, Florida, Grace Brown (Glen), Mary Alice Paggett (William), Gloria Broxton, and David Walker all of Atlanta, Georgia, Evelyn Brownlee, Tuscaloosa, Alabama,  John Walker (Effie Raines), Ellaville, Georgia; sister/brother-in-law Betty Walker Buena, Georgia, Annie Bell Walker, Miami, Florida ; a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including several devoted.  ​

Mr. Carl Eugene Akine, Sr., age 63, 111 Oak Grove Court, Montezuma, Georgia passed Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the surrounding of his beloved family.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 26, 2018 at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Reverend Alfred Wynn, pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Montezuma, Georgia, will officiate.  Interment will be held 12:00 Noon, Monday, February 26, 2018 in the Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.

Carl was born January 7, 1955 in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late Al Collier and the Late Martha Kate Akine Witchard.  He was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Felicia Law Martin. He was a 1973 graduate of D. F. Douglass High School. He served in the United State Army where he received several awards and metals including the National Defense Service Medal. Carl was a carpenter by trade, he worked at Southern Frozen Food in the Sanitation Department and Tyson Foods of Vienna, Georgia in the Maintenance Department. 

He was united in holy matrimony to the former Emma Law in 2017. He was blessed to be the father of eight children.

​John Willie Mitchell, Sr., age 74 of 1404 Madison Street, Americus, Georgia, passed Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.
 
A wake service will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 23, 2018 at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, 132 Bumphead Road, Americus, Georgia.
 
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 24, 2018, Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, 132 Bumphead Road, Americus, Georgia. Burial will follow  at the Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.      
 
John was born February 27, 1943 to the late Charlie Mitchell and Hester Brown. He was one of twelve children with six siblings preceding him in death, John Lee, Clyde, Sammie, Roosevelt, Arrie Dean and Annie Maude. He acquired his education in the 28th District of North East High School in Americus, Georgia. He joined Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he served faithfully on the Stewart Board, Men and Senior Choir, Custodian and Trustee Board Ministries. He also was a member of the Sons of Allen Organization. 
 
He was united in holy matrimony to Eva Jewel Asberry in 1961 and to this union they were blessed with four children; one preceded him in death, Jeffery.
 
He leaves to cherish his memories a beloved wife of 57 years, Eva Jewel Mitchell, Americus, Georgia; three children, John Mitchell, Jr, (Loretta), James Dennis Mitchell all of Americus, Georgia and Valerie L. Mitchell and a devoted friend Terry Jackson, Covington, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Bridget Mitchell, Covington, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Yazmine Draines, Ashley Mitchell, Amber Mitchell, Damion Walton, Jason Hudson, Kayla Hudson, Brandon Thomas, Jalisa Thomas and Darious Tyner; sixteen great grandchildren; six siblings, Jesse Mitchell, Passaic, NJ, Willie Mitchell, Hartford, CT, Eddie Frank Mitchell (Barbara) and Clarence Mitchell (Mariah), all of Americus, Georgia, Arma Jean Brown, Buffalo, NY and Dosha Watts, Columbus, Georgia. sisters/brothers-in-law, Artis Johnson (Sara), Rev. Shuwand Denise Mann, age 48, 611 Lancing Lane, Montezuma, Georgia passed on February 13, 2018.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Zion Grove Baptist Church, Whitehouse Road, Montezuma, Georgia. The Rev. Coley Clark, Jr., pastor will officiate.  Burial will follow in Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Churches Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

I was born Shuwand Denise Mann on October 29, 1969 to the late Deacon James C. Mann and my mother Louella G. Mann in Montezuma, Macon County, Ga. I was also the granddaughter of the late Rev. John Henry and Alberta Mann and the late Claude and Gladys Grant.  I was affectionately called “Beannie” “Shaina” or  “the baby girl” being I was the youngest sister of nine siblings in which three siblings preceded me in death: my big sister Brenda Mann, Debra Fobbs and James Donell Mann.

 
At an early age I joined the Zion Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend E.L. Clark. As a dedicated member of Zion Grove Church I served on the usher ministry alongside my grandmother Sis. Gladys Grant and aunt Betty Carr for several dedicated years.
 
I was a proud 1987 graduate of Macon County High School and after graduating from high school I began my working career. One of my first jobs was working at Manhattan Shirt Company, Americus, Georgia and Yoder’s Family Restaurant, Montezuma, Georgia, until I became the human resource secretary for Southern Frozen Foods Inc. for many years.
 
On March 15, 1992, God blessed me abundantly with my pride and joy my one and only daughter JonTasha Shuwanda Lesarah Kaigler, the love of life. I always had a love for makeup and fashion.  Told on many occasions I’m always smiling, something I did without even knowing sometimes it was just that beautiful spirit that I carried within.  I loved helping people and I really loved my family God blessed me with a quiet and helping kind spirit and I was always thankful for it. On February 13th 2018 I became tired and God granted me peace and rest reuniting me with my daddy and siblings. My works here were done.  Weeping may endure for a night but I do know joy comes in the morning .
 
I leave to cherish joys of my beautiful precious memories to my very caring devoted daughter, Ms. JonTasha Kaigler, Nana’s two beautiful grand babies Amani Fowler and Karleigh Stafford all of Montezuma Ga. My mother  Mrs. Louella Mann of Montezuma Ga. My Siblings Sandra Mann Oglethorpe Ga, Eric Mann, Antonio Barron Mann, Felix (Senay) Mann all of Montezuma Ga and my devoted  Carl Akine (my backbone and best friend) of Stone Mountain Ga. Sister in law Irene Mann . Several nieces and nephews included special nephew Larry Fobbs. My god daughter Paris Freeman. My aunts and uncles Betty Carr(my second mom) Mae Bertha Jones , Edna Grant, Betty Joiner, Betty Mann, Cathy Mann, Earl Mann Sr. John (Viola) Mann, Earvin Mann, Willie(Annie) Grant, and Claude Grant Sr. My great aunts and uncles Carrie Rackley, Fannie (Jerome) Hannor, Henry Mann, Rose Lee Thomas, Sarah (Fred) Hannor, Christine Mann, Dorothy Mann and Marilyn Mann. A host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Mrs. Lorine Kaigler Frazier, age 63, passed on February 10, 2018 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.
 
The funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant/Travelers Rest C.M.E. Church, 315 Norris Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Rev. Desmond Rawls, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
 
Lorine was born January 29, 1955 to the late Pomie Lee Mason Kaigler and  Paul Kaigler, Sr. in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Travelers Rest C.M.E. Church where she served on the Stewardess Ministry. Following the merger of Mt.Pleasant/Travelers Rest C.M.E. Church, Lorine served faithfully as President of the Stewardess Ministry and church Treasurer. She was a faithful and dedicated member. Lorine was educated in the public school system of Macon County. She was a 1973 honor graduate of the historic D.F. Douglass High School and a 1977 graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University with a Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. In 1976 she was employed as a Lab Technician at Southern Frozen Foods, Inc. After Southern closed she was employed with Tyson Foods, Buena Vista, Georgia as a Plant Manager. Later she worked and retired as an Educator from the Sumter County Middle School. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Freddie L. Smith and Paul Kaigler, Jr., and a daughter, Stacey L. Holston.
 
Lorine will forever be remembered as a person who touched many lives. She loved Jesus and her family. Those who saw her daily knew her faith was sufficient and also knew that her faith continued to flourish as she drew strength from God.
 
She was married on June 19, 1999 to Carvis Lewis Frazier, who cherishes the memory of their lives together. 
 
Survivors are her husband, Carvis Lewis Frazier, Montezuma, Georgia; her children, Clifton J. (Veronica), Holston Montezuma, Georgia, Casey Perry, Warner Robins, Georgia, Tracey Perry, Perry, Georgia and step-son, Loboyd Frazier, Warner Robins, Georgia; her granddaughter, Mi’Youna Perry, Perry, Georgia; siblings, Delores Smith, Saint Petersburg, Florida, Jesse L. Kaigler, Montezuma, Georgia, Peter Kaigler, Montezuma, Georgia, and Viderial K. Cheatham, Albany, Georgia; sisters-in-law Bernice Adams and Mary Fredrick both of Dooling, Georgia, Eula Fraizer, Miami, Florida, and Pauline Adams, Macon, Georgia; aunts, Mattie Mason, Oglethorpe, Georgia and Sylvia Williams, Tampa, Florida;  a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at New Corinth Baptist Church, Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow at Union Hill A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Ellaville, Georgia.

Larry Johnson, Sr. was born November 17, 1948 in Schley County, Ellaville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Rafus and Ida Greene Johnson. At an early age he joined New Corinth Baptist Church in Ellaville, Georgia. He was educated in the public school system of Schley County and was a 1968 graduate of John Lewis High School.

Larry was joined in holy matrimony to the late Marsha Merritt Johnson. To this union, they were blessed with two sons. He was preceded in death by one son, Jermaine.  

Larry leaves to cherish his memories to one son, Larry Johnson, Jr., Americus, Georgia; one grandson, Ljaylen of Americus, Georgia; two sisters, Evelyn Hayes of Jacksonville, Florida, Freida Jones of Americus, Georgia; one brother, Kenneth (Sarah) Terry of Jonesboro, Georgia. He also leaves and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Willie James Dupree, age 87, of 511 Harvey Circle, Ellaville, Georgia passed on February 1, 2018 at his home.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the 4th United Holiness Church, 192 North Thompson Street, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Rocky Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Concord Church Road, Ellaville, Georgia.
 
Mr. Willie James Dupree was born July 12, 1930 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Claude Dupree and Ollie Cicero Dupree. He was preceded in death by siblings, Jessie Lou Dupree Hosley, Jossie Dupree Harpe, Ollie Mae Rogers and Charlie L. Dupree Sr., and two grandsons, Frederick Scott Range Sr. and Lawrence Range.
 
Mr. Willie James Dupree was the beloved companion to the late Mary Alice Range for more than fifty-five years. To this union they were blessed with seven children; three, Lisa Ann Dupree, Patricia Ann Dupree, and Robert Range, Sr., preceded him in death.
 
He acquired his education in the Schley County School System. His career was farming and after many years of dedicated services he retired from Johnny Lightner Farm. After retiring, he started his own business in landscaping. He joined the Church International under the leadership of Elder Jesse Carson and later joined the 4th United Holiness Church under the administration of Elder Steven Anderson.
 
He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his four children, Charlene Dupree Williams (Deacon Ralph), Deacon Kenneth Dupree (Sylvia), Catherine Campbell (Harvey)  all of Ellaville, Georgia and Melvin Range (Maxine) Oglethorpe, Georgia; fifteen grandchildren, two devoted, Matthew Williams and Jonathan Leggett; seventeen step-grandchildren; forty nine great grandchildren and  step great grandchildren including a devoted great granddaughter Nyeisha Leggett; sister, Sarah Richardson, Ideal, Georgia; brothers/sisters-in-law, Junior Battle (Mary), Harold Battle, John L. Battle, Homer Lee Battle and Eva Mae Johnson all of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Ernestine Frazier, Ellaville, Georgia and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, including one devoted  niece, Evelyn Slaughter, Buena Vista, Georgia; devoted caring CNA, Marisa Thomas, Ellaville, Georgia who worked with Innovation Senior Solution, Americus, Georgia and a host of other relatives and friends including caring friends, Ms. Elsie Lee Baker and Elder Steven and First Lady Anderson.

Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Marilyn Johnson Worthy will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Magnolia Baptist Church, 415 Hosie Waters Street, Montezuma, Georgia 31063.

Interment will be held at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 2787 James Road, Montezuma, Georgia 31063.

Visitation for Mrs. Worthy will be held on Friday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Meadows Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia 31068.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Zion Hill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 686, Montezuma, Georgia  31063. (All donations are tax-deductible.)
