Ms. Elsie Denmark age 61,  passed on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 28, 2015 at Union Tabernacle Baptist Church, 900 Adderton Street, Americus, Georgia. The Reverend Larry B Sims, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia. 

Ms. Elsie Denmark was born on March 22, 1954 to the parentage of the late John Arthur Denmark and Mary Denmark.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda K. Denmark; one brother Jimmy Lee Denmark; two sisters, Ruby Denmark-Jernigan and JoAnne Denmark-Carter; and two brothers-in-law, Freddie Jernigan and Calvin Carter.  She was educated in the Sumter County school system.  Over the years, she was employed with IMC Fertilizer Company as a Groundskeeper.  

She is survived by one son, Thomas Denmark (Terrel) of Ellaville Georgia; a daughter Jada Carson (Freddie) of Americus, Georgia; five sisters,  Mattie Campbell (Douglas) of Meridian Mississippi, Maggie Milliner (David) of Albany, Georgia, Dora Jean Denmark, Mary Jo Denmark, Mae Peal Denmark, all of Americus, Georgia; three brothers, James Arthur Denmark, Charlie Denmark, and Robert Myrick, all of Americus, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren; two devoted friends, Ms. Mary Russell and Ms. Charlie Mae Woods; along with a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

,Jeremiah Rockamore, age 81, of Montezuma, Georgia passed Tuesday, December 22, 2015.

The funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 28, 2015​ at Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church, Phelps Plantation, Butler, Georgia.  Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.

Jeremiah Rockamore was born May 24, 1934 to the late Azalean Smith Campbell and Frank Rockamore. A native of Taylor County, he was educated in the public schools of Taylor County. Four siblings, Dollie C. Griffin, Alice Lockhart, J.C. Rockamore, and Daisy Phillips, preceded him in death. He was a self-employed logger as well as a man with many talents. He had a strong love for family. He had a love for the outdoors and his hobby was gardening. He was united in holy matrimony to Carnell Mangram Rockamore in January 1955.

Jeremiah departed this earthly life on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. He has left a warm impression in the hearts of those he left behind. Two children preceded him in death, SGT Earnest Rockamore, and Katie Mae Rockamore. In passing, he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories to his beloved wife of 60 years, Carnell Mangram Rockamore, Montezuma, Georgia; six children, Larry Rockamore (Gloria), Diana Rockamore, Montezuma, Georgia, Jerry Rockamore (Jean), Henry Rockamore (Joann), Patricia Adkins (Richard), Valdosta, Georgia, and Lynda Rockamore of Macon, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Mizell Banks and Sandra Banks (Willie), Chicago, Ill; and three brothers-in-law, Ronnie Mangram (Gail) and Freddie Mangram, Macon, Georgia and Bobby Patterson, Montezuma, Georgia; 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

​Mr. Jonathan Middlebrooks, Sr., age 74, of Ellaville, Georgia passed December 18, 2015 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Union Hill A.M.E. Church, Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia, where Reverend Norris D. Walters is pastor. Reverend Coley Clark, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
 
Mr. Jonathan, affectionately known as "Diddy," was born January 29, 1941, in Schley County to the late Joe Dell Middlebrooks and Marva Lene Shelling-Middlebrooks. He was a graduate of John Lewis High School. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the band of Christian believers at Union Hill A.M.E. Church.
 
He was united in holy matrimony to the former Georgia Ann Haynes and to this union they were blessed with four children. Two children, Myra Middlebrooks and Jonathan Middlebrooks, Jr., preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by 4 siblings, Marva Jean Middlebrooks, Jennie Middlebrooks-Williams and Alexander Middlebrooks.
 
He leaves a legacy of many loved memories to his beloved daughters, Elaine Kendrick, Americus, Georgia and Melissa Middlebrooks, Ellaville, Georgia; four grandchildren, Martina Middlebrooks-Barkley (Keelan), Americus, Georgia, Alane’ Kendrick, Americus, Georgia, Ayonna Bridges, Columbus, Georgia, Derric Tatum, Jr., Ellaville, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Ann Middlebrooks, Ellaville, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Tony Williams, Atlanta, Georgia, Tonya Williams, Atlanta, Georgia; a host of other cousins and friends.

Gwendolyn Denice Williams, age 51, passed on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Magnolia Baptist Church,  415 Hosie Waters Street, Montezuma, Georgia, where the Reverend Hosie Waters is pastor. Reverend Rodney Duncan, pastor of New Home Baptist Church, Buena Vista, Georgia, will officiate.  

Gwendolyn was born February 14, 1964 to the late Morris Jones and Bessie Mae Williams Smith in Macon County, Georgia. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County.  Over the years, Gwendolyn enjoyed working as a housekeeper with Quality Enterprise in both Macon County and Taylor County.  Gwendolyn knew no strangers, for she was a people person who enjoyed laughter and dancing. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Rosa Mae Jones and Jodie Bell Walker-Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Jeffery Williams and Shaleana Williams, both of Montezuma, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Claudia Moore, Ideal, Georgia, Mae Lee Williams, Americus, Georgia, Gloria Goggins, Montezuma, Georgia, Georgia Ann Jones, Ideal, Georgia, M.L. Jones, and Ernest Jones (Toni), both of Atlanta, Georgia; great aunt and great uncles Carlean Carson, Ideal, Georgia, Richard Walker, Hartford, Connecticut, L.B. Walker (Charlene), Blair, South Carolina; a godmother Rachel Clark (Jimmy); a host of  other relatives and friends, including a devoted cousin, Fannie Bailey of Ideal, Georgia.

Mr. William Herman Joiner, Sr., age 58, 455 Pursley Street, Macon, Georgia passed Monday, December 14, 2015 at Kindred Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 21, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

William Herman “Skin” Joiner, Sr.  was born July 7, 1957 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Lois ‘Sue” Joiner. He received his Christian training in the local churches.  He was educated in the public school system of Macon County.   William  was self-employed as a carpenter.

He leaves a legacy of love and golden memories to his loving and devoted children, LaSharon Wright (Christopher), Lawrenceville, Georgia, Melaney Joiner, Milledgeville, Georgia, LaKeitsha Ladson, Savannah, Georgia, William Joiner, Jr. (Chloe), Macon, Georgia and Carlos Jackson, Warner Robins, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; grandmother, Minnie McClendon, Anderson, Indiana; five siblings, Carolyn J. Kendrick (Bruce), Unadilla, Georgia, Ruby J. Oscar Jackson, age  62, passed on December 14, 2015 at Phoebe  Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the Chapel of the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. The Reverend Coley Clark, Jr., pastor of Zion Grove Baptist Church of Montezuma, Georgia, will officiate. The family will receive family and friends an hour prior to  the service at the Chapel.    

Oscar Jackson was born October 14, 1953 to the late Maybird Jackson in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia. He was educated in the public school system of Schley County and was a graduate of John Lewis High School.   On  the evening of Monday, December 14, 2015 by the Grace of God and his mercy, his soul and body was released from the trials of this earth.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two brothers, Lester Jackson, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Emmett Jackson, Ellaville, Georgia; a sister, Irene Jackson, Americus, Georgia; four half brothers David Jackson, Ellaville, Georgia; a sister-in law, Mattie Jackson, Atlanta, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Lositine Mullins, West Palm Beach, Florida, Theodore Jackson, Fort Pierce, Florida, Vera Mae Jackson, and Evelyn Freeman South Bay, Florida; two nieces, Angela Spencer, Americus, Georgia and Shameka Jackson, Atlanta, Georgia; two nephews, Eric Jackson, Atlanta Georgia, and Alfred Smith, Smithville, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.

Alvin Moses Baisden

Alvin Moses Baisden, age 61 of Ellaville, Georgia passed on Monday, December 7, 2015.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.  Reverend Thomas Law will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Ellaville, Georgia.

Alvin Moses Baisden was born February 24, 1954 in Ellaville Schley County, Georgia to the late Charlie Alonzo Baisden and Cora Bell Hopkins Baisden. Three siblings, Charles Albert Baisden, Willie Chester Baisden, and Danny Gene Baisden, preceded him in death.

He was a 1975 graduate of John Lewis High School. He was a member of the Concorde Holiness Church of Ellaville under the leadership of Reverend William Blue.

Survivors are four siblings, Eddie James Baisden (Tawona) Ellaville, Georgia, Enoch Baisden, Atlanta, Georgia, John Baisden, Atlanta, Georgia and Evens Leon Baisden (Rose) Americus, Georgia; aunts and uncle, William Smith (Lorene) Ellaville, Georgia, Jessie Hospkin, Americus, Georgia, Anita Sellars, Macon, Georgia, and Mary Dean Smith, Brooklyn, New York; a host of nieces and nephews, including a devoted niece, Felisha Ann Mason.

Mr. Ernest James “Snook” Griffin, Jr., age 68, 259 Georgia Highway 49 South, Americus, Georgia passed Thursday morning, December 3, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice IPU, Columbus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Jerusalem Grove Baptist Church, Smithville, Georgia, where Reverend Ricky Cladd is pastor.  Bishop Dr.  Melvin McCluster of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.  Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia. 

Mr. Ernest James Griffin, Jr., better known as “Snook,” was born in Sumter County, Georgia on April 7, 1947 to the parentage of Ernest Griffin, Sr. and the late Louise King Griffin.  Ernest was a people person, for he loved his family and was always telling jokes that kept you laughing.  He received his education in Sumter County School System.  He joined First Bronwood Baptist Church in Bronwood, Georgia at an early age.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise King Griffin, and a brother, Connie Will Griffin.  After 30 dedicated years of service, he retired from Davison Rubber Company as a press operator.

Ernest leaves to cherish his memories to his loving children, Marsha Griffin Robinson (Jamie), Karen Griffin Reddick, both of Americus, Georgia, and Courtney Griffin, Albany, Georgia; a father, Ernest Griffin, Sr., Americus, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Shawn Robinson, Jr., Fort Valley, Georgia, Larayshia Reddick, Johnisha Johnson, Naykhia Reddick, and Kanorris Reddick, all of Americus, Georgia, Elaysia Stewart, and Elysia Stewart, both of Albany, Georgia; four great grandchildren, Cedric Gatewood, Jr., Carlie Gatewood, Jayden Johnson, and Leah Gatewood, Americus, Georgia; four sisters, Peggy Patterson (Will), Akron, Ohio, Shirlean Adams, Americus, Georgia, Pearline G. Marlin (Harold), Albany, Georgia and Joyce A. Dice, Midland, Georgia; one brother, Albert D. Griffin, Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, cousins, and devoted friends.

Rhea Bertyann Morrow

​Rhea Bertyann Morrow, 60, of Washington DC, died peacefully in her sleep on December 2, 2015 at the Miona Nursing Home in Ideal, Georgia.

Rhea was born at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington DC, on September 29, 1955 to Wilson Harry Morrow and the late Freddie Mae Morrow. Rhea graduated with Honors from Eastern High School and went on to further her education at Federal City College. Rhea was a beautiful person with a lot of life, for she was a caring, loving and a devoted sister who took her two younger sisters under her wing, as they grew up.

Rhea is survived by one son, Ashley L. Morrow; her precious granddaughter, Ashairi Morrow; five sisters: Donna V. Morrow-Hawkins, Tharyll W. Morrow-Pretlow, Rhonda E Morrow-Wilber, June M. Morrow-Henson, and Harriett L. Morrow-Kennedy; er many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rhea was a beautiful person with a caring heart, she will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Thomas Copeland, Jr., age 76, passed on December 2, 2015 at the Montezuma Health & Rehabilitation Center, Montezuma, Georgia.

Thomas was born on June 11, 1939 in Cairo, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Copeland Sr. He  received his education in the public school system of Grady County. Throughout the years, Thomas worked as a Truck Driver for many companies. He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Martha Eva Copeland.

He is survived by three children, Thomas Gregory Copeland, Plains, Georgia, Kevin Copeland, Americus, Georgia and Monica Glenville; six grandchildren, Cameshia Redding, Darius Royal, La’Rentavis Redding, Thomaria Copeland, Amiya Copeland, and Talayhia Copeland; two great grandchildren, Terryiana Redding and Kenya Redding; one brother, Ellis Gibbs, Cairo, Georgia; one sister, Geraldine Patterson, Atlanta, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
