Annie Delois Prather Brown, age 72, 9 Briarwood Village Court, Cusseta, Georgia passed March 28, 2022, at the Magnolia Manor-Marion County Nursing Home, Buena Vista, Georgia.
 
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Josh Gibson Center, Rogers Street, Buena Vista, Georgia. Interment will follow in Bethel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Fire Tower Road, Cusseta, Georgia.

Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. Annie was born June 30, 1949, to the late Erma Christine Royal and the late George Royal in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia.
 
She was educated in the public school system of Marion County and was a 1968 graduate of Buena Vista High School.  She was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church whereas she served on the Usher Board Ministry.   She also supported every facet of the church she loved so well.
 
She was preceded in death by one son, Donnell Royal, her parents, George and Erma Christine Royal,  three brothers, Larry Royal, Johnny Royal, Robert Royal two sisters, Bertha Sneed and Mary Alice Prather.
 
She leave a legacy  of love and many fond memories eight siblings and their spouses which include: Earlene Moore (Alex), Miami, Florida; Theresa Seldon (Jessie), Columbus, Georgia, Deborah Kelly (Jimmie), Buena Vista, Georgia, Andria Battle (Howard) Ladonia, Alabama, Jerry Royal, Buena Vista, Georgia, Benjamin Royal (Sarah), Milton Royal (Dorothy), Buena Vista, Georgia and Arthur Darrell Royal (Alicia); a host of nieces and nephews including Neina (Daniel Gay) of Buena Vista, Georgia; and a devoted friend Gwen Mitchell, Buena Vista, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Andersonville National Cemetery Rostrum, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.

Mr. Bateman was born September 16, 1960 in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia to the late Tucker Person and the late Ella Bess Green Bateman. He was a 1978 honored graduate of Tri-County High School. He enlisted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged. After serving his appointed time he moved to Seattle, Washington whereas he worked as a Roofer. He later moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and after his health began to fail he moved back to his hometown of Buena Vista, Georgia.   
 
He leaves to cherish his memories to his son SC1 Wiley Bateman Jr. (Daylis); three grandchildren, Jareshly Bateman, Jaedon Bateman, Jazlynn Bateman; siblings Moses Lee Bateman, Jr. (Shawnta Duncan), Fitzgerald, Georgia, Willie Lee Williams (Joe), Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Ella Mae Robinson, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Willie Rose Bateman, William Tucker Bateman, Janice Walton (Harrell), Barbara Walton (Terrace), Terry Hall, all of Buena Vista, Georgia and Sherry Ann Bateman, Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews other  relatives and friends including devoted friends Tony Kimbrough, David Robinson, Richard Murray, Jr.  ​

Willie B Byse Jr. was born December 18, 1967 in Ideal, Georgia to the late Cilla Nelson Byse and the late Willie B Byse Sr. He was preceded in death by one brother Willie Charles Byse. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County and was a graduate of the historic D.F. Douglas High School. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.  He was a member of the United States Navy. Over the years Willie was employed with the United States Postal Services, a Carpenter with Durham manufacturer and Tyco.  
 
He leaves to cherish his memories to four children Craig Fowler (Kara), Columbus, Georgia, William Billy Byse, Savannah, Georgia, Cyerra Byse, Cymone Byse both of Detroit, Michigan; seven grandchildren; siblings Brenda Smith (Larry), Stockbridge, Georgia, Carolyn English (Ishom), Atlanta, Georgia,  Eddie Byse, Ideal, Georgia, Lillie Williams (Jerry), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Hazel Johnson ( Michael), Mableton, Georgia, Cordelia Byse, Ideal, Georgia, Sandonal Byse, Marshallville, Georgia, Angela York (Keith), Hiram, Georgia, Janice Mack, Warner Robins, Georgia, Sheuronda Byse, Austell, Georgia, Shonda Brazley (Donte); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a devoted cousins Jack Byse, Otis Aldridge, Fredrick Aldridge, Tony Byse;  devoted nephews who was like a brother Larry Smith  II, and Bradford Byse.

​Daphne Pina, 49, of Athens, Georgia passed away peacefully on the evening of March 21, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery, William Grove Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Daphne Pina was born to Mary Alice Williamson Pina and Nathaniel Hamilton, Sr. on March 8, 1973, in Ellaville, Georgia. Daphne grew up in Ellaville, Georgia and later in her adult life moved to Athens, Georgia.  She attended public school at Tri-County High in Buena Vista, Georgia. Daphne spent most of her professional life in the medical and production working capacities.  She was very sociable and always tried to enjoy life to the fullest.  Above all, she was sure to give her life to Christ, her personal Savior.  Daphne will be greatly missed.
 
Daphne was preceded in death by both parents and three siblings, Lisa Ann Pina Hartage, Tyrone Pina, and Theresa Hamilton.  

She leaves to cherish memories four children: Cortero Pina of Athens, Georgia; Shakeidrian Reynolds of Oakwood, Georgia; Zy’Dayzjah Pina and Jamora Green of Athens, Georgia; siblings, Debra Pina of Ellaville, Georgia; Margaret Brooks (Donnie) of Ellaville, Georgia; Willie Hamilton (Daphne), Nathaniel Hamilton (Mattie), Johnny Hamilton (Ramona), and Shannon Hamilton of Ellaville, Georgia; Tyrone Hamilton (Lakisha) of Marietta, Georgia; aunts and uncles: Ida Lois Ruffin of Springfield, Massachusetts; Louise Baisden (Eddie), Ellaville, Georgia; Dorothy Thornton (James) of Columbus, Georgia; Vera Murray of Buena Vista, Georgia.  Brother-in law: Howard Hartage, Jr. of Macon, Georgia; 23 nieces and nephews, a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; with a great devotion to Rosie Polk of Americus, Georgia and Diane Gaona of Athens, Georgia.

Patricia Ann (Moody) Frazier Bridges was born in Ellaville (Schley County, Georgia) to Mrs. Leila Mae (Moody) Carter. A highly intelligent child, she started school a year early and eventually obtained a master’s degree in early childhood education from what is now known as Georgia Southwestern State University. She united in marriage as a young adult with George Frazier and they were blessed with four exceptional children- Sharon, Anthony, Pamela, and Katrina.  She later married former police Captain Moses Bridges and gained a stepson Michael.

She was reared in a Christian home and as a young adult joined Union Hill A.M.E. Church of Ellaville, where her children received Christian education and also where she was eventually ordained as an associate minister. Mrs. Bridges was also active in social clubs like the Ladies of Essence and joined a grad chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She loved teaching and was blessed to see multiple generations of her former students thrive and excel in their personal lives and careers.

In addition to her children, Patricia is survived by her mother Leila, brother James (Sue), son-in-law Terry Jerome Davis (T.J.), daughter-in-law Yana Bridges, four grandchildren- Jemeryl and Joshua Frazier, London and Lyric Davis, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 12, 2022, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Georgia Highway 26, Montezuma, Georgia.

Eric Emmanuel Aldridge, age 57, was born July 7, 1964 in Miami, Florida to the late Mr. David Aldridge, Sr. and the late Mrs. Minnie Lois Mitchell–Aldridge.  To this union they had thirteen children. 

Eric attended McArthur High School in Miami, Florida where he graduated from there in 1982. After graduating he did lawn services for years.  He also became a pallet jack operator and held that position for years. At the early age of 7, he attended Greater New Bethel Baptist Church in Miami, Florida.  After many years of living in Miami he moved to Perry, Georgia in 2008 where he also took his faith and joined New Hope Baptist Church.  Eric was very sociable and was willing to talk with people he was around. He loved and was a true fan of the Miami Dolphins Football Team.

On March 1, 2022, God called Eric to where he leaves behind a loving wife of ten years Ruth Ann Joiner- Aldridge; twelve siblings Carl Payne and Jean Morgan both of Opelika, Alabama, David Aldridge Jr. (Wonders) of Miami, Florida, Michael Aldridge (Sidney), of Perry, Georgia, Delores Smith of Tallahassee, Florida, Inez Aldridge of Miami, Florida, Denise Williams (Walter) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Sharon Aldridge of Miami, Florida, Patsy Braddy (John) of Miami, Florida, Stanley Aldridge and Timothy Aldridge, both of Tallahassee, Florida, and Joe Darren Aldridge, Sr. of Miami Florida; four aunts, Glennie Aldridge,  Clara Buchanon, Katharine Jackson (Richard), and Allean Reese; two uncles, Willie Aldridge (Nelly) all of Auburn, Alabama, William Mitchell of Plymouth Massachusetts; two stepdaughters Shimeka Joiner of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Shakelo Larry (Anthony) of Montezuma, Georgia; one stepson Hakeem Larry of Perry, Georgia; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Patricia Joiner of Montezuma, Georgia, Shirley Lockhart of Perry, Georgia; brothers-in-law, John Joiner, Sr. of Fort Valley, Georgia, A.W. The Life Story Of
Beulah Griffin
1929  -  2022
The life of Beulah Griffin begun at her birth, May 2, 1929, in Ideal, Macon County, Georgia.  Born to Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Idella Huff Willliams was reared in Macon County and she was educated in the public school system of Macon County.  She was united in holy matrimony to the late Charlie “C.H.” Griffin and to this union they were blessed with seven children three preceded her in death; Bennie, Randolph and Zelma.
 
Being reared in a Christian home, she joined the Shady Grove Baptist Church of Ideal, Georgia at an early age.  She later joined the Mount Carmel Primitive Baptist Church. After several years of being employed with Southern Frozen Food, Inc. she retired as a line technician.
 
She leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories of those siblings who have gone on before her which include: Hattie Bell Williams Hankerson, Eloise Williams West, Sallie Anna Williams Little, Homer Williams, Jossie Mae Williams Meadows, Odessa “Dessie” Williams Taylor, Betty Odell Williams Duncan, Willie Henry Williams, Jesse and Lesie Williams  (twins).   
 
Survivors are: four children, Charlie Griffin, Jr., Ideal, Georgia, Andrew Griffin (Mary) Ideal, Georgia, Larry Griffin (Mary Ogburne), Ideal, Georgia and Alvin Griffin (Betty), Ideal, Georgia; one sister, Ola Mae Williams Turner, Oglethorpe, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Doris Griffin, Reynolds, Georgia and son-in-law, Ronnie Bunkley, Butler, Georgia; nineteen grandchildren, forty seven great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren,  a host  of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Olivia was born May 26, 1953, in Montezuma, Georgia to the late C.B. Harmon and the late Ophelia Felton Stewart. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County and was a 1971 graduate of the historic D. F. Douglass High School. Olivia attended South Georgia Technical College where she earned her certification as a seamstress. She also attended Columbus Technical College, Columbus, Georgia.  At an early age she joined Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church. Ann, as she was called by family and friends, loved sewing. Her loving personality will forever be remembered by her  family and friends. 

She leaves to cherish her memory to her loving daughter Cassandra Woodard (Matthew), Oglethorpe, Georgia; four grandchildren Mickell Greene, Nickolas Woodard, Kingston Woodard, and Morgan Woodard;  two siblings Johnetta Hawkins (Paul), Decatur, Georgia, Samuel Stewart, Macon, Georgia; nieces and nephews Jonathan Hawkins, Jamille Hawkins, Kennley Johnson, Deanesha Lewis, Elina  Harris, J’Dasjah Taylor; uncle Charles B. Felton of Miami, FL; aunts Nettie R. Ashmon and Lucretia Mason of Montezuma, Georgia; a host of other family and friends.
