Quanisha Latrece Colwell, age 21, 1015 Baden Street, San Antonio, Texas passed Wednesday, October 21, 2015.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Saturday October 31, 2015 at Nazarene Church of Jesus Christ, 2286 Pineville Road, Buena Vista, Georgia.  Elder Larry Franklin Jr., the pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 145 Firetower Road, Cusseta, Georgia.

Quanisha was born in  Americus, Sumter County, Georgia on December 6, 1993 to Luequiten Burt Colwell and Samuel Colwell, Jr. She was a 2012 graduate of  Kingsburg High School in Memphis, Tennessee.  Quanisha accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and joined the band of Christian believers at St. John Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Quanisha was currently enrolled in Milan Institute of Cosmetology Studying to be a Master Cosmetologist. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Mary Ann Crumbley, Kay Marsha Wooden, and Arthea Tymes; an aunt, Sonya Colwell; and an uncle, Otis Burt, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories to a son, Anthony Colwell, San Antonio, Texas, a mother Luequiten Colwell (Alonzo Jarrett); a father, Samuel Colwell, Jr. (Ruth Stewart), Columbus, Georgia; grandparents, Otis Burt, Sr. (Diane) Buena Vista, Georgia, Samuel Colwell Sr. (Codane) Columbus, Georgia; five siblings, Darrel Burt (Bejaze), Samuel Colwell III, both of San Antonio, Texas, Cornelius R. Colwell, Americus, Georgia, Sa’ Maurie De’Trel Colwell, Memphis, Tennessee; aunts and uncles, Kimberly Sales (Jamaine), Lawrenceville, Georgia, KaTrina Leverett (Connie), Americus, Georgia, Ronda Carnegie, Tracy Padgett (Dottie), both Columbus, Georgia, Tasha Carnegie (LaShane), James Padgett II (Kim), both of Tampa, Florida, Timothy Battle, Americus, Georgia, Tyrone McKeage, Clarksville, Tennessee, Debra Sims (Eli),  Americus, Georgia; one niece, Monica Burt, San Antonio; a host of other relatives and friends.

Johnny Kleckley

Mr. Johnny Kleckley, age 84, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 111 Walnut Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
 
Johnny Kleckley was born March 26, 1931 to the late Eddie Lee McKellar and Georgia Bogan. His brothers, James McKellar and Leonard McKellar, preceded him in death.
 
Johnny was educated at the Flint River Farms School of Montezuma, Georgia.  In his adult life, Johnny worked driving trucks for Haugabook Oil Company. Years later, he tirelessly worked with Southern Frozen Foods of Montezuma in the Field Department and various areas within the company until his retirement. Although retired, Johnny would still be seen up early drinking coffee and having breakfast with friends in Montezuma.  He also enjoyed attending the meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses with his wife, Eva Kleckley, to whom he was married to for 55 years. She preceded him in death.
 
Johnny leaves many fond memories in the hearts of those who knew him, but especially his family: his devoted children - daughters, Linda Kleckley Hankerson, Carla Kleckley both of Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Jeshanah “Shan” Kleckley, Americus, Georgia; sons: Donnie Kleckley and Tommy J. Kleckley (Ruby), all of Oglethorpe, Georgia; three loyal grandchildren: Harold Hankerson, Jr. (Lazetta), Marietta, Georgia, Stacey Mathis (Timothy), Fort Valley, Georgia, and Candace Kleckley, Oglethorpe, Georgia; affectionate great-grands, includes: Simone Hankerson, Hailey Hankerson, Harold Hankerson III all of Marietta, Georgia and Timberly Mathis, Fort Valley, Georgia; brothers, Thomas J. McKellar (Lois), Atlanta, Georgia and Ricky McKellar, Oglethorpe, Georgia; sister, Essie Mae Kirven (Leroy), Waterbury, Connecticut; a dearly loved sister-in-law, Eddie Ruth “Honey” Haugabook, Montezuma, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends of the Haugabook, McKellar, and Bogan families.

Pastor Linda Leggett

Pastor Linda Leggett, age 59, Ideal, Georgia passed Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia. 

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Felton Chapel Church, Georgia Highway 128, Oglethorpe, Georgia, where the Rev. Keith Gibbons is pastor.   Reverend Rodney Duncan, pastor of New Home Baptist Church, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pastor Linda Leggett was born October 8, 1956 in Ideal, Macon County, Georgia to the late Ira Bell Walker Leggett and the late John Wesley Leggett.  She was preceded in death by five siblings, two babies, Tina Leggett, Joan Wiggins and Timothy Leggett.

She acquired her former education in the public school system of Macon County where she was a former student of the historic Ideal Elementary School of Ideal, Georgia and the historic D. F. Douglass High School of Montezuma, Georgia.  

Her Christian walk included Felton Chapel C.M.E. Church and, later in life, she attended and joined the House of God Miracle Temple of Ideal, Georgia under the leadership of the late Mother Dorothy Williams. Desiring the work of a bishop she was ordained as a minister and later organized the second church under the House of God Miracle Temple in Butler, Georgia.   She was later moved back to the House of God Miracle Temple of Ideal as pastor of the church where she remained until her health failed.   She exemplified her leadership on the Ministry Board of House of God Miracle Temple of Miami, Florida, the original church. 

She obtained her certification as a Dietician from the administrator of Ideal Health Care Nursing Home under the administration of Charlie Griffin.  After some thirty years of dedicated services, she retired as the dietician supervisor.

Survivors include a loving and devoted son, Willie John Davis, Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Dequasia Little, Precious Butler, and Dequawn Butler, all of Americus, Georgia; siblings, Lewis (Mattie) Leggett, Ideal, Georgia, Arthur (Shirley) Leggett, Ideal, Georgia, Christopher (Gwen) Leggett, Ideal, Georgia, Angela (Roy) Mathis, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Janice (Kerry) Wright, Oglethorpe, Georgia and Hayward (Jeanette) Leggett, Oglethorpe, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Arridean Walker, Mary (Major) Battle, Eula Walker, Gloria Walker, and Phillip Walker; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including one devoted friend, Wilbert Hicks.

Mr. Henry Boddie, age 75, 169 Cora Drive, Ellaville, Georgia, passed Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Macon Medical Center of Central Georgia, Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at New Corinth Baptist Church, Will Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia.  Pastor Brian Ramey will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Zion Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Henry Lewis Boddie, affectionately called “Big Man," was born February 2, 1940 to the parentage of the late Inez Varner Boddie and the late Joseph Boddie. Three siblings, Shyenne "John" Boddie, Larry Boddie, and Walter Milton Boddie, preceded him in death. He attended the public school system of Schley County. After thirty-seven years of dedicated service, he retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters and son-in-law, Mattie Lavon Ridley (Sam), Perry, Georgia and Sharon Denise Clark, Stone Mountain, Georgia; four granddaughters,  Kalisha Haynes, Amber Haynes, both of Decatur, Georgia, Anitrus Johnson, Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Keondra Jones, Columbus, Georgia; five siblings, Joseph Boddie, Jr., Albany, New York, Kenneth Boddie (Angela), Ellaville, Georgia, Alexander Boddie, Los Angeles, California, Nathaniel Boddie (Pam), Columbus, Georgia, and Alice Pennamon, College Park, Georgia; seven great grandchildren, Dallas Patrick, Trajan Clayton, Makya Haynes, Jamari Haynes, Zion Haynes, India Webster and Zhariah Jones; one aunt, Carrie L. Varner, Ellaville, Georgia; one uncle, Hiawatha Ross, Americus, Georgia; a loving companion, Annie Hudson, Ellaville, Georgia; a godson, Tyshaun Thomas; a host of nieces and nephews, including two devoted nieces, Alicia Pennamon and Danielle Pennamon, both of College Park, Georgia; other relatives, including a devoted cousin, David Jackson and friends, including a devoted friend and neighbor, Julia Mae Smith and caregiver, Cathy Wilkerson.

Tiffany Lawrence, age 34, 305 South Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins, Georgia, passed October 9, 2015.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday October 15, 2015 at Union Baptist Church, Norris Street, Montezuma, Georgia.

Tiffany Valeria Lawrence was born on April 29, 1981 in Decatur, Georgia to Willie C. Lawrence and the late Fredenia Kenny Smith. “Tipp,” as she was affectionately called, attended the public school system of Macon County and was a 2000 graduate of Macon County High School of Montezuma, Georgia.  She was employed for over 6 years with Perdue Farms.

She is survived by her four kids, Jermaine Lee, Jr., Yazmine Lee, Shyianna Lee, Aaliyah McGhee, all of Warner Robins, Georgia; her father, Willie C. Lawrence; a brother, Corey Lawrence (Constance); four half brothers, Dante (Michelle), Vic (Teresa), TiaMaine, and Anthony; five half sisters, Shawndre, TyShawnda, Towanda, Serina, Chirrikkia; a grandmother, Marva Kenny, of Atlanta, Georgia;  a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, beloved friends, and other relatives, including two loyal and devoted friends, Terri Laney and  Jakia Lee.

Eddie Gaines Brown, Jr. age 42, 121 Howell Street, Apt. 19A, Leslie, Georgia passed Thursday, October 8, 2015.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Jackson Grove Baptist Church, Pryor Road, Desoto, Georgia. Reverend Eugene Hall, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in church cemetery.
 
Mr. Eddie Gaines Brown Jr. was born in Sumter County, Georgia on May 3, 1973 to the parentage of Eddie Gaines Brown Sr. and Easter Kate Laramore Brown. He received his education in the public Sumter County School System. He was married to Mrs. Felicia Angry Brown, the love of his life for 19 years, and they both became members of Jackson Grove Baptist Church. To this union, two sons were born: Eddie Gaines Brown IV and Jy’kobie Brown. He was preceded in death by his step son, Kelvin Toriaho Walton Jr.

He leaves to mourn his passing: four sons, Mr. Javaris Dariso, Mr. Eddie Gaines Brown III, Mr. Zyreick Allen, and Mr. Jamarcus Deriso, all of Americus, Ga; three daughters, Mrs. Shotavis Dariso, Mrs. Keonna Brown, Mrs. Eryn Brown, and one step daughter, raised as his own, Mrs. Berlisha Jaleen La’shune Walton; four grandchildren, Mr. Jordon Dariso, Mrs. Mckenzie Dariso, Mr. Jayden Brown and Ms. Jalia Walton; siblings, Ms. Antiqua McClendon of Tennessee, Ms. Tyran Brown, Ms. Anita Brown, Mr. Patrick (Kimberly) Brown, and Mr. Gregory (Sylvia) Brown, all of Americus, Ga; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Ms. Gennifer Bridges and Mr. Anthony (Latasha) Bridges of Americus, GA; father-in-law, Mr. Emery Bridges of Americus, Ga. He also leaves to mourn his passing a devoted friend of many years, Charles Stewart, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Linda Faye Ward Lewis, age 60, 332 Whiteline Street, Montezuma, Georgia passed away on October 08, 2015 at her home.

The funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015, Union Baptist Church, Norris Street, Montezuma, Georgia. The Reverend Joe Harrisston, Pastor will officiate.  Interment will  follow at the Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia. 

Linda  Faye  Ward Lewis  was born in Montezuma, Georgia  on June 20,1955 to the late George Ward Sr., and Mary Alice Lewis Ward.  Linda acquired her education in the public school system of Macon County and was a 1973 graduate of the historic D.F. Douglas High School in Montezuma, Georgia.  Following high school Linda enlisted in the United States Army  as a Medical Service Court and  served her country proudly  until she was honorable  discharged. She was employed over years by  Buckeye, Macon County Department of Family and Children Service, and  Frito- lay.  She is preceded in death by one sister Jackie Ward.

She leaves to cherish her memories a beloved son Charles Brown; three grandchildren Markel Brown,  Z’khia Brown, Marqueon Glenn; seven siblings Georgia A. Ward, College Park, Georgia, Kenneth M. Ward ( Beverly), Stockbridge, Georgia, Cheryl Ward, Atlanta, Georgia, Pamela Ward Montezuma, Georgia, Gail Ward, Charleston, South Carolina, Donnie Ward, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Kathy Mann (Alfondo), Oglethorpe, Georgia; aunts and uncles Peggy Ann Gibson, Atlanta, Georgia, Annie Grace, Elnora Long, Angela Leach, Warner Robins, Georgia, Cordel Lewis, Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including  a devoted friend J.W. Dontay Story, age 32 passed away on October 5, 2015 at the Medical Center of Central, Georgia, Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy 26, Montezuma, Georgia. Reverend Allen Waters, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dontay Story was born July 2, 1983 in Warner Robins, Georgia to Burnell Loftly Story and the late Jackie Andrew Story, Sr. He acquired his education in the public school system of Macon County. He worked as a Sanitation Worker at Allen’s Frozen Food’s and went to Gilmore in Perry, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father and a very devoted friend, Katrina English.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a beloved mother, Burnell Story, Montezuma, Georgia; two siblings, Jackie (Laquilla) Story Jr. and Brittany Ann Story, all of Montezuma, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Mary Ellen Covington (A.W.), Boisey Loftly (Bessie), Edward Loftly, and Lounell (Leonard) Rackley, all of Montezuma, Georgia, James Greene, Montezuma, Georgia, Sonny Sneed, Akron, Ohio, Walter Ben Story, Jr., Richard (Gloria) Story, all of Montezuma, Georgia, Wanda (Emmitt) Mathis, Houston, Texas and Marshall (Jeffery) Canady, Montezuma, Georgia; a nephew, Kamarion Story; and a host of other relatives and friends.
