Oscar James Lee, Sr.

Mr. Oscar James Lee, Sr. passed Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Houston County Medical Center, Warner Robins, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 31, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia. Reverend Allen Waters will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.

Mr. Oscar James Lee, Sr. was born November 20, 1944 to the late Robert Lee, Sr. and Willie Mae Akine Lee. He was preceded in death by five siblings: Robert Lee, Jr., Charlie Fred Lee, Sr., Carlton Felder, Roosevelt Lee, Sr., and Joe Henry Lee. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Florine Rice Lee.  He was blessed to be the father of six children; one son, Timothy, preceded him in death.  He was educated in the public school systems of Macon and Dooly Counties. He was employed at Yoder's Dairy as a large machinery operator.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Zion Hill Baptist Church and later joined Word of Life Christian Fellowship.

Survivors include five loving and devoted children, James Lee, Perry, Georgia, Oscar Lee, Jr. (Lynn), Valdosta, Georgia, Daniel Lee (LaToshia), Perry, Georgia, Sharon Lewis, Hinesville, Georgia, and Eldorado Lee (Arica), Perry, Georgia; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Ernestine McGhee, Perry, Georgia, Brenda Harvey, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Amos Lee (Bernice), Montezuma, Georgia, Tommy Lee (Mattie), Montezuma, Georgia; a host of cousins and friends.

Willie L. Colbert

Willie L. Colbert, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Medical Center of Navicent Health, Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted 3:00 P.M, Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. 

Willie was born in Marshallville, Macon County, Georgia to the late L.C. Colbert and Willie Mae Rumph Colbert on November 24, 1937.  He was educated in the public school system of Macon County.  He was employed as a Farmer for many years with I.F. Murph Farms, Charlie Haslem Farms of Marshallville, Georgia, and later worked and retired from Super Sod Farms, Marshallville, Georgia.  In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening. 

He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Clara White Colbert and to this union five children were born. He was preceded in death by  one daughter, Vanessa Colbert; one granddaughter, Brittany Colbert; and five siblings, Monroe Colbert,  Mae Willie Colbert Barner, Mattie Mae Colbert, Ella Mae Colbert, Nash Colbert, and Leatha Mae Dodson. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Willie (Jacqueline) Colbert Jr., Gerald Colbert, Gloria Colbert, and Cassandra Colbert, all of Fort Valley, Georgia; five grandchildren, three of whom he reared as his own, Anvenitra Colbert, Fort Valley, Georgia, Randy Colbert, Sr., Fort Valley, Georgia, Rashad (Brittany) Colbert, stationed in Germany, Ashley Colbert, stationed in Burford, South Carolina, and Alexis Colbert, Fort Valley, Georgia; four great grandchildren, Sannitra Colbert, Randy Colbert Jr., Veronica Washington, and Quron Colbert; step grandson, Courtney (Toya) Allen; and four step grandchildren, all of Fort Valley, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews,  sisters-in-law, other relatives, and friends, including a devoted niece, Angela Robinson.

Carrie English Harmon

Mrs. Carrie Lee (Pat) English Harmon, age 80, passed Friday, December 23, 2016.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 114 Johnson Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia, where the Reverend Norris Harris is pastor.  Interment will follow at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Carrie Lee English Harmon, affectionately called "Pat," was born December 30, 1935 in Oglethorpe, Georgia to the late John Thomas and Louise Bailey English.  Pat gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul A.M.E. Church where she sang in the church choir.  She was educated at the Macon County Training School, graduating May 1954.  She was joined in holy matrimony to Willie Ree Harmon on July 4, 1954, and to this union two children were born – Monica and Eric.  Sticking with her Christian upbringing, Pat remained a steadfast believer and served as a Minister for 15 years at the Massah House of Prayer.

Pat leaves a lifetime of memories to her husband, Willie Ree; her children, Monica and Eric, both of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Gregory, Kellye, Stacy, Courtney, David, Timothy and Gallilea, all of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Evelyn (John – deceased) English Bailey, Miami, Florida and Marie (C.L. – deceased) English Meadows, Peachtree City, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Rubin Harmon, St. Petersburg, Florida and Milton (Francis) Harmon, Chicago, Illinois; sister-in-law, Evelyn (CB – deceased) Harmon, Oglethorpe, Georgia; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Johnny Lee Dice, age 55, 217 Creekside Drive Apt-B, Americus, Georgia passed Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Perry Grove Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 280, Leslie, Georgia. Reverend David Hamm, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.

Johnny was born October 21, 1961 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia to Bertha Mae Angry Dice and the late Henry Lee Dice Sr. He was educated in the public school system of Sumter County where he was a 1979 graduate of the Union High School of Leslie, Georgia.  He was employed at Georgia Cold Storage as a fork lift operator for over twenty years.

Survivors are his loving mother, Bertha Dice, Americus, Georgia; siblings, James Dice (Connie), Michael Dice (Eddie Jean), and Barbara Burts (Clarence), all of  Americus, Georgia, Teresa Johnson (Darion), Richland, Georgia, and Brenda Dice, Americus, Georgia;  aunts and uncles, Virgil Raines, St. Petersburg, Florida, John L. Felman Paster, Jr.

Felman Paster, Jr., age 70, 201 Belmont Street, Marshallville, Georgia passed Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Perry Hospital, Perry, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 23, 2016 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, GA Hwy 49 South, Marshallville, Georgia, where the Reverend Victor Johnson is pastor. The Reverend Preston King, Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Colonel Felton Cemetery, 502 South Street, Marshallville, Georgia.

Felman Paster, Jr. was born September 4, 1946 to Grace McKenzie Paster and the late Felman Paster, Sr. in Marshallville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Ella Mae Harris and Hazel Dianne Ellis. Felman was educated in the public school system of Macon County and was a 1965 graduate of the historic  D.F. Douglass High School in Montezuma, Georgia. Following graduation he continued  his education at Fort Valley State University. At an early age he confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the band of Christian Believers at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Grimes. During his tenure he served on the Deacon Board Ministry and personally aided in the construction of the new addition to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. For nineteen years he was employed with the Blue Bird Body Company in Fort Valley, Georgia. He later went on to work and retired from Boeing Georgia Inc. as a CQI Team Leader in 1994. 

On March 3, 1966, Felman was united in holy matrimony to the former Betty Harris. To this union, they were blessed with eight children. Two children, Vincent Leon Paster and Charlene Paster, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a beloved wife of fifty years, Betty Paster, Marshallville, Georgia; six children, Terrace Paster (Lauri), Keith Paster (Susan), all of Tacoma, Washington, Radis Paster (Kimberly), Deatsville, Alabama, Prelvis Paster (Sondra), Macon, Georgia, Pretandra Larry, and Curtis Paster, both of Marshallville, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Grace McKenzie-Paster, Marshallville, Georgia; five siblings, Mary Harris, Mary Bonner (Robert Lee), Terry Paster (Jessie Mae), all of Marshallville, Georgia, Ernestine McGhee, Fort Valley, Georgia, and Betty Furgerson, Akron, Ohio; uncle, Felton McKenzie (Norma Jean), Marshallville, Georgia; aunts, Bernice Howard, Marshallville, Georgia, Susie Johnson, Miami, Florida, Earlene Walters, Hartford, Connecticut; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. ​

Elizabeth Fletcher Williams

Elizabeth Fletcher Williams, better known as Miss Betty, of Montezuma, Georgia passed Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Phoebe Sumter Hospital, Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 23, 2016 at First Salem Baptist Church, Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia, where Reverend Jeffery Randle is pastor. The committal service will follow in the Andersonville National Cemetery Rostrum, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.

Mrs. Elizabeth was born February 12, 1923 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Stella Phillip Fletcher and Jink Fletcher.  She was the wife of the late Jimmy Williams and the mother of the late Bennie Rose Folks and Harold Loftley.

She was a member of the First Salem Baptist Church of Montezuma, Georgia where she was a choir member.  She retired from Southern Frozen Food, Inc. of Montezuma, Georgia after twenty-five years of dedicated services.

Survivors include eight children, Hobbie Fletcher (Thomasine), Newark, New Jersey,  Curtis Williams, Irvington, New Jersey, Marvin Williams (Kathleen), Irvington, New Jersey, Patricia Paramore (Gregory), Newark, New Jersey, Shirley Ann Pizarro (Joel) North Plainsfield, New Jersey, Jerry Williams (Lillie Pearl), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Brenda Warren (Henderson), Montezuma, Georgia and Joan Agee, Birmingham, Alabama; two step-children, Essie Williams and Morris James Williams, both of Montezuma, Georgia; two aunts, Bernice Collier and Rosseta Turner, both of Montezuma, Georgia; a host of beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Catherine Melvin and the staff of the Montezuma Health Care.

Eddie Leon Stovall

​Mr. Eddie Leon Stovall, age 50, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 16, 2016 at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church, Highway 240, Ellaville, Georgia. Elder Nathan Rolle, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
 
Eddie Leon Stovall was born on December 27, 1965 in Sumter County, Americus, Georgia to the parentage of the late Elizabeth Peeples Stovall and Eddie Lee Stovall.  His parents raised him in Schley County, Ellaville, Georgia. In 1984, he received his High School Diploma from Tri-County High School, Buena Vista, Georgia.
 
At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Schley County.  He was a dedicated leader and servant until his death.  His service at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church lead to the position of Association’s Clerk of the Antioch Primitive Baptist Association for many years.
 
In 2002, Deacon Eddie Stovall married Chiquetta L. Bynum of Warner Robins, Georgia. The Lord blessed them to make their home in Warner Robins, Georgia. They have three children, Sharleza A Ross (step-daughter), Noah L Stovall, and Elisabeth S. Stovall. 
 
Deacon Eddie Stovall was last employed at Kohl’s Warehouse in Macon, Georgia.  In 2014, he was diagnosed with of Lou Gehrig’s disease, which resulted in him becoming fully disabled and unable to work. 
 
He leaves a legacy of memories to his beloved wife, Chiquetta L. Stovall and children: Sharleza Ross, Noah Stovall and Elisabeth Stovall, all of Warner Robins, Georgia; brothers, Mario (Andrea) Smith, Ellaville, Georgia and Antwan Smith, Sr., Americus, Georgia; In-laws: Charles (Mary Ann) Bynum, Warner Robins, Georgia; sister-in-law: Shangaleza (Thavian) Godwin, Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law: Kenneth (Lanitra) Bynum, Warner Robins, Georgia; aunts and uncles: William (Lorene) Smith, Ellaville, Georgia,  Mary Gladys Peeples and Paul Peeples both of Jersey City, New Jersey; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Bertha Marie Royal Sneed, age 73, passed on December 12, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 16, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church, 25 New Hope Road, Holy Trinity, Alabama. Pastor H.C. McGruder will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.

Bertha was born on February 1, 1943 in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia to the late George Royal and Bertha Chapman Royal. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vera Sneed Thomas, and two brothers, Robert Royal and Johnny Royal. She was educated in the public school system of Marion County and was a 1960 graduate of Marion County High School in Buena Vista, Georgia. She was member of New Hope Baptist Church in Holy Trinity, Alabama where she served on the Usher Board until her health began to decline.  Over the years she was employed with Tom Foods and St. Joseph School as a Custodian.  For several years, she owned and operated an Antique Shop in Buena Vista, Georgia.

She was  joined in holy  matrimony to Willie Sneed Sr., and to this union  three children were born.

She leaves a lifetime of memories to her two children, Willie L. Horace Thomas Fitzhugh, age 72, passed on Tuesday, December 06, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. 

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, 201 Chatham Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia, where Reverend Glenn Bryant is pastor. Burial will follow in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.  

Horace was born on August 7, 1944 to the late Thomas Fitzhugh and Alice Lumpkin Fitzhugh in Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County then enlisted in the United States Army. For years he worked at the Macon County Board of Education as a Custodian. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and went on to join the band of Christian believers of Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, Oglethorpe, Georgia.  

He was joined in holy matrimony to the formal Willie Pearl Sykes and to this union six children were reared. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Laquita Fitzhugh.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Pearl Fitzhugh, Oglethorpe, Georgia; five children, Marshan Kendrick, Reynolds, Georgia, Cedric McCants, Seattle, Washington, Barbara Harris (Malcolm), Montezuma, Georgia, Tammy Fitzhugh, Ideal, Georgia, and Rhonda Redman (Michael), Warner Robins, Georgia; Arravinia Moore (Denny) Hartwell, Georgia; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Renfro (Bill) Columbus, Georgia, Carolyn Fitzhugh, Macon, Georgia, Glandice Fitzhugh, Atlanta, Georgia, Larry Fitzhugh, Sammy Fitzhugh, and Calvin Fitzhugh Sr., all of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Irene Murray Kleckley, age 92, 84 B Dixon Drive, Americus, Georgia passed Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Center, Americus, Georgia.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Friendship Baptist Church, 411 Cotton Avenue, Americus, Georgia, where Bishop Melvin McCluster is pastor. Reverend George Monts will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Zion Road, Ellaville, Georgia.
 
Mrs. Kleckley was born June 4, 1924 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to the late Burton Murray and the late Alberta Wallace Murray.  She was educated in the public school system of Schley County.  She was united in holy matrimony to Henry B. Kleckley in 1953 and to this union they were blessed with seven children. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the band of Christian believers at the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Ellaville, Georgia. She was a great supporter in all the church ministries including being a member of the Senior choir.
 
After twenty-five years of dedicated services, she retired from J & M Trucking Company as a custodian.  
 
She leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to her beloved husband, Henry B. Kleckley, Americus, Georgia; seven children, Beverly Ross, Linda Kleckley both of Americus, Georgia, Henry Wallace Kleckley, Warner Robins, Georgia, Fred Douglas Kleckley, Maurice Murray Kleckley, Milton Jerome Kleckley all of Americus, Georgia and Cynthia Kleckley Hinton (Jerrold) Alexandria, Virginia; her beloved godson, Lafayette Banks (Loraine), Americus, Georgia; twenty-three grandchildren and fifty-three great grandchildren; two sisters, Carrie L. Varner, Ellaville, Georgia and Ola Mae Smith (L.C.) Americus, Georgia; sister-in-law, Rosie Mae Clemmons, Americus, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including three devoted friends, Marie Perkins and Dorothy Walker, both of Americus, Georgia and Sara Mills, Andersonville, Georgia.
