​Prince Jabari Harris, 11 months, Warner Robins, Georgia passed Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Houston County Medical Center, Warner Robins, Georgia. 

The funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday October 27, 2017 at the Zion Hill Baptist Church, Allen Street, Leslie, Georgia.  Reverend Willie James Hill, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Georgia Highway 26 West, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Prince Jabari Harris was born October 22, 2016 to the birth parents of Brandon Harris and Simone Boone. He was the God-given son of Pamela Harris since day two, and Pamela named him Prince Jabari Harris. At this time Pam's whole life changed for the betterment of praising God and giving God the Glory. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terrell Harris.

Prince was the maternal grandson of Mae Boone and Fred Carter III of Americus, Georgia; The paternal grandson of Gerald Harris Sr. (Tamica) Harris of Americus, Georgia;  and the devoted great paternal grandson of Deacon Willis Thomas, Sr. of DeSoto and the late Shirley Harris Thomas and  Eddie and Velma Thomas, Desoto, Georgia; four siblings, Azzariah Harris, Kamerion Harris, Christiana Harris and Jamere Storey; His paternal aunts and uncles, Germika Harris, Gerald Harris Jr., Perry Boone, Brianna Boone and Jonathan (Sonya) Thomas all of Americus, Georgia, Kenneth Thomas, and a Devoted aunt Natarsha Brown all of DeSoto, Georgia, Anitra Thomas of Jonesboro, Georgia Willis Thomas, Jr., Warner Robins, Georgia and Eric Davis, Albany, Georgia, two very devoted cousins and church going partners, Kenton Thomas and Kenneth Thomas, Jr.; and a host of other aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends including the Zion Hill Baptist Church Family.

Mr. Dennis G. Smith age, 60, passed on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Americus, Georgia.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt, Zion Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Dennis was born in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia on May 17, 1957 to the late Clisbert Smith and Mattie Greene Smith.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Douglas Smith and Marvin Smith. He was educated in the public school system of Schley County. He was a 1974 graduate of the historic John Lewis High School.  Following graduation he attended South Georgia Vocational School earning a certificate in Business Administration.  At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savoir and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ellaville, Georgia. 

Dennis was employed with Wal-Mart Supercenter in Americus, Georgia as a Stocker for over 18 years.  He loved landscaping and spending time with family and friends.  He was a very thoughtful and caring individual.

He leaves to cherish his memories: seven siblings, Ann Westberry, Columbus, Georgia, James A. Smith (Earnestine) and Danny G. Smith both of Ellaville, Georgia, Beatrice Storey and Bobby Smith both of Atlanta, Georgia, Shirley Taylor (Kenneth) and Hazel Smith Hawkins both of Fayetteville, Georgia; aunt and uncle; Cassie Floyd (Homer), Americus, Georgia and Caleb Greene;  sister-in-law, Helen Smith; a host of caring nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. ​

​Archie Benjamin Mond, age 68, 1016 Bonner Drive, Perry, Georgia passed October 17, 2017.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the New Hope Baptist Church, 1300 Washington Street, Perry, Georgia, where Rev. Dennis Harden is Pastor. Rev. Moneka S. Braswell, Pastor of Rocky Mount C.M.E. Church, Garden Valley, Georgia will officiate. Burial will follow in the Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Archie was born June 6, 1949 to the late Roy Smith and Fannie Mond. He was reared by Charlie Smith and Rosa Pearl Smith. One sister, Elizabeth Farley, preceded him in death. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County.

He was married to Fannie Warren August 30, 1972 and to this union they were blessed with four children.

Archie was a member of Rocky Mount C.M.E. Church and Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church of Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was retired from Watkins of Oglethorpe, Georgia as a forth lift driver. He was Chairman of the Rocky Mount Steward Board.

He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his beloved wife of 45 years to Fannie Warren Mond of Perry, Georgia; four children Cecilia Mond and Anthony Terrell Mond both of Perry, Georgia, Rodrick A. Warren and Cornelius M. Warren both of Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren, Tisean, Madison, Kadance, Kileeah, Kalais and Ariahna; sixteen siblings, Bessie Lue Wayman Kendrick, Butler, Georgia, Mae Francis Goodman, Griffin, Georgia, Willie Faley (Cora), Ft. Colvin Minter

​Colvin Minter, age 64, passed on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at DeKalb Medical Center, Decatur, Georgia.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St.  Marks Baptist Church, 96 Hobbs and Briggs Road, Buena Vista, Georgia.

Colvin was the youngest son born to the late Smith Minter and Susie Anna Murray Minter on January 9, 1953 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one uncle Felton Minter. He was educated in the public school system of Schley County, Georgia where he acquired his high school diploma from John Lewis High School in 1973. While in high school Colvin was a valued basketball player. Following high school he attended South Georgia Technical College in Americus, Georgia. During the 2000-2001 basketball seasons he coached the Kings Academy Basketball Team of Americus, Georgia. Colvin was a faithful Steward at St. Paul A.M.E. Church and Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church, in Oglethorpe, Georgia; he also served as Assistant Superintendent of Sunday school at Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Colvin was united in holy matrimony for 43 years to the late Queen Esther Tookes Minter. To this union they were blessed with one daughter Colbretta Q. Minter and one grandson, Jonathan Luke Thompson. He enjoyed assisting his wife in raising foster children and in his past time he enjoyed racing motorcycles, boating, and fishing.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, Colvin completed his task on Earth for the rewards that was granted to us by our Heavenly Father. “Let not your hearts be troubled, nor let it be afraid.”

He leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter, Colbretta Q. Minter, Ellaville, Georgia; grandson, Jonathan Luke Thompson, Ellaville, Georgia; an adult child, Courtland Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia; a brother, John Smith Minter, Americus, Georgia; four uncles, C.W. Minter (Rotha Mae), Eastman, Georgia, Milton Minter, Sr. (Irene), Buena Vista, Georgia, Clarence Minter(Marjorie), Buena Vista, Georgia and Willie Minter(Louise), Buena Vista, Georgia; one aunt, Mary Lou Minter, Buena Vista, Georgia; brothers/sisters-in-law, Henry L. Grace Mckenzie Paster

Grace Mckenzie Paster, age 90, 228 Cotton Street, Marshallville, Georgia passed peacefully at her home on  Sunday, October 15, 2017.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 20, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 10077  Highway 49 North, Marshallville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Colonel Felton Memorial Cemetery, Marshallville, Georgia.

Grace Mckenzie Paster was born to the parentage of the late R.C. Lowe and Alice Taylor Mckenzie on August 2, 1927 in Canton, Cherokee County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by two siblings, O.J. Jones  and Hazel McKenzie. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Grace loved her church, hats, dazzling suits, and her special pew.

Grace was united in holy matrimony to the late Thelmon Paster, Sr. for over 60 years. To this union they were blessed to raise seven children. Three, Ella Mae, Hazel, and Felman, Jr., preceded her in death.

During her working years she was employed as farm worker, and domestic worker where she served several families including Mrs. IIene Friesdom and Mrs. Donna Irby Williams. Later she gained employment at Southern Frozen Foods as a line technician and retired after 20 years of service.

She was also preceded in death by three sons-in-law, Rev. William Harris, Freddie Lee Harris and Tommy McGhee;  five sisters/brothers-in-law, Ida Lowe (Tommie), Ella Lane, Mary A. Paster (J.D.), Norma Mckenzie and Nonita Felton (Dave), Elmo and Willie.

She will be cherished as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother spanning three generations. She was a loving, authentic woman who always told you the truth and not what you wanted to hear.

She leaves to cherish her memories four children Mary C. Harris, Marshallville, Georgia, Ernestine McGhee, Fort Valley, Georgia, Oscar Paster (Jessie Mae)  Marshallville, Georgia,  and Mary A. Bonner (Robert) Marshallville, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Betty Paster, Marshallville, Georgia; a host of  grandchildren, great grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Susie Johnson, Miami, FL, Bernice Howard, Marshallville, Georgia and Earline Walters (Harvey), Hartford, Connecticut; a brother Felton McKenzie, Marshallville, Georgia, a 
step sister Bettye Ferguson of Akron, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Betty Lowe  and Liza Mae Banks, both of Fort Valley, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including devoted nieces, Peggy Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia, Shirley “My” Bobb, of Maryland and Predita Howard (Steve) Byron, Georgia; devoted cousins Minnie Sneed , Mary Smith both of  Marshallville, Georgia, Charles McGhee of Warner Robins and  several special friends, Marion “Tiny” Lowe, Ella Rumph, Claudia Respress, Julia Solomon, Fannie Taylor, Elizabeth Allen  and Charlie White all of Marshallville, Georgia.

​Barbara Ann Baldwin, age 58, 611 Railroad Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia passed Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Medical Center Newnan, Coweta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Magnolia Baptist Church, Hosie Waters Street, Montezuma, Georgia.  Rev Hosie Waters, Pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Freeman Hill Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia.

Barbara was born August 29, 1959 in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late Leo Baldwin and Gladys Corley Baldwin.  She was the granddaughter of the late Dazie Wallace Corley.  She was educated in the public school system of Macon County.  She later acquired her high school diploma from Penn Foster Tech.

She joined the Beulaland Bible Church of Warner Robins, Georgia where Carlos Kelley is the Pastor.  After many years of dedicated service she retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  Always with an open heart for caring and helping others, she enrolled in South Georgia Technical College and pursued a degree in Early Childhood Development.

Survivors are a companion, Melvin Mallard; two children, Jessica Baldwin and Jeremy (Shaqria) Baldwin all of Oglethorpe, Georgia; mother, Gladys Baldwin, Oglethorpe, Georgia;  grandchildren, Makayla, Trey, Malik, Jamarion, Javion, Jameriyah and Serenyti; several nieces and nephews, Estee, Kendra, Tiffany and Ervin, Jr. all of Oglethorpe, Georgia; siblings, Leola Griffin, Ervin (Annette) Baldwin and Anthony Baldwin all of Oglethorpe, Georgia; maternal aunts and maternal uncles, Cora Sanders, Phophet Corley both of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Emma (Calvin) Silas College Park, Georgia.

​Emanuel Davis, age 52, 200 Graham Street, Plains, Georgia passed Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Lebanon Baptist Church, 403 Bottsford Road, Plains, Georgia, where Reverend Hosie Waters is Pastor. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery, Old Plains Road, Plains, Georgia.

Mr. Davis was born November 5, 1964 to the late Mr. Alvin Davis and Ida Bell Angrish Davis in Sumter County, Georgia. He was a 1984 graduate of Sumter County Comprehensive High School and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church of Plains, Georgia. He retired from Hickory Spring after thirty years of dedicated service as a line technician. 

He was preceded in death by three siblings, James Davis, Sr., Betty Davis and Judith Davis and a nephew, Timothy Davis. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: two children, Emanuel Williams, Albany, Georgia and Dominique Andrews, Preston, Georgia, two grandchildren; Harmoni Andrews and Jordyn Williams, three brothers; Alton Davis, Americus, Georgia, Anthony Davis (Kimberly) Americus, Georgia and Alonzo Davis (Alice), Plains, Georgia, four sisters; Barbara Yancie, Patricia Wright (Charlie) and Wendy Davis all of Americus, Georgia and Virginia Tullis (Jessie) Plains, Georgia; a devoted friend of 14 years, Jacquelene Williams, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Eastview Church of Christ, 701 Eastview Drive, Americus, Georgia.

Louise was born October 29, 1948 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia to the late Rev. Tom Wilkerson Jr. and Jessie Lee Wilkerson.   Vivian Wilkerson and Margie Canada preceded her in by death. She was a 1966 graduate of Americus High School where she was a member of the Americus High School Football Team. She furthered her education at Georgia State College of Atlanta, Georgia.  She was employed as a nursing assistant at Grady Memorial Hospital of Atlanta, Georgia.

Survivors are her siblings, Tommie L. Bruce (John L.), Americus, Georgia, R. B. Wilkerson, Atlanta, Georgia, Milton Wilkerson (Catherine) Columbus, Georgia, Paul Wilkerson (Mary), Albany, Georgia; aunts/uncles Tom Yearby, Americus, Georgia, Celestine Yearby, Americus, Georgia;  devoted nieces Conchuri Bruce, Patricia Bruce Riley and Clovene Wilkerson all of Americus, Georgia; great nieces Raneisha Davis and Fiera Riley; devoted nephews John L. The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Union Hill A.M.E. Church, 392 Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia where Rev. Henry Clark is pastor.  Rev. Clinton Aldridge Jr., pastor of Quebec Baptist Church, Ellaville, Georgia, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Union Hill A.M.E. Church Cemetery.

Scottie was born July 11, 1968 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to the late George Peeples Sr. and Etta Dean Jackson Peeples.  He acquired his education in the Tri-County School System. He was preceded in death by five siblings, Wendy Perry, Billie Joe Peeples, Esther Williams, Geraldine Shelton and Phillip Peeples.

Scottie was a member of Union Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church.  He was employed with Clarence Welch Lawn Service. 

Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth Peeples, Americus, Georgia; two daughters, Latanya Peeples and Glenetta Peeples both of Americus, Georgia; two granddaughters Shavarria Warren and G’hanna Davis both of Americus, Georgia; six siblings Rachel Johnson, Ellaville, Georgia, Glenda Ruff, Americus, Georgia Harriett Peeples, Ellaville, Georgia, George (Annie) Peeples Jr., Smithville, Georgia, MacGarry (Betty) Peeples, Americus, Georgia and Connie Peeples, Ellaville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends including, Betty Medlin, Clarence Welch, James Miller Jr., and Ralph Williams.

Maggie Lee Snipes Till

Mrs. Maggie Lee Snipes Till, age 90, passed on Saturday, October 7, 2017.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Rocky Hill Primitive Baptist Church, Concord Church Road, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

Maggie was born October 10, 1926 in Ellaville, Georgia to the late Prince Snipes Sr. and Mary Magdalene Moore Snipes.  She was the oldest of eight siblings; she was preceded in death by five of them, Dorothy Singletary, Irene Cheney, Georgia Bell Winfield, Rebecca Snipes, and Ishmeal Snipes. She attended the public school system of Schley County in Ellaville, Georgia. On Maggie's life journey, she met her one and only love, the late Willie Till.   In 1953 the loving couple committed their love to each other and was united in holy matrimony. To this union, they were blessed to raise three children; one son, Leroy Till, preceded her in death.  Following marriage they moved to Atlanta, Georgia before settling in Queens, New York.  She was employed with various companies before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and traveling alongside her husband with his trucking company. After living in New York for 45 years Maggie and Willie returned to the native state of Georgia and started their retirement life in the city of Sylvester where they remain until their demise.
 
She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Larry Till, Sylvester, Georgia Paula Jenkins (Tony), Greenville, North Carolina;  five grandchildren Ronald John Till, Pennsylvania, Jannie Danielle Till, Alexandria Pearl Till, Long Island, New York, Tamia Harrington, and Areainna Hines, both of Greenville, North Carolina; great grandchildren Shawn Isaiah Till, New York, Jaynia Sky Till and Lelanie Alexis Till  both of Atlanta, Georgia, Cerenity Till,  Jonathan Moore, Jayla Moore, all of New York;  siblings Parie Lee Hall, Albany, Georgia,  Prince Snipes, Orlando,  Florida; aunt Elizabeth Moore, Ellaville, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a devoted friend who was like a sister Helen Mclean.
