Lamar was born on February 4, 1981, in Marshallville, Georgia to Beulah Collier Robinson and Jimmy Robinson Sr. He was preceded in death by one brother, Tracy Joiner. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County.  Lamar worked various jobs including Perdue Farms.  

He leaves to cherish his memories to his four children Lamar Robinson Jr., La’ Mariyana Robinson, Hy’maurion Robinson, and Lyric Robinson; parents Beulah Collier Robinson, Jimmy Robinson Sr., siblings, Bobby Joiner, Danthan Joiner, Eric Joiner (Lisa), Earl Joiner (Sharon), Kelvin Joiner, Kavin Robinson (Gina), James Ira Robinson (Kayla), Jimmy Robinson Jr. (Betty), Gwendolyn Joiner, Carolyn Joiner, Michelle Joiner, Pamela Hill (Napoleon), Diana Joiner, Mary Jane Robinson, Caroline Robinson, Hattie Henderson; girlfriend, Felecia Felton; aunts and uncles, Troy, Collier, Willie Collier, Pearl Freeman, Barbara Collier, Ruth Stinson, and Lula Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. ​

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Josh Gibson Center, Gibson Way, Buena Vista, Georgia. Burial will follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Cusseta, Georgia.

Aaron B. Harris was born December 26, 1953, in Wetumpka, Alabama to the late George and Mary Harris. He was educated in the public school system of Wetumpka, Alabama where he attended W.D.W High School. After receiving his education, he went on to move to Buena Vista, Georgia in the early 1970’s. While trying to find a new direction in life, he happened to meet the love of his life, his soul-mate, Pearlene Kelley. He began his work career with the Marion County School System for 31 years; 22 years with the elementary school and 9 years with Southwest Georgia Head Start. Aaron also worked for the Buena Vista Postal Service and Redman Trailer Plant in Richland, Georgia. He was an attentive custodian, repair technician, painter, and maintenance technician. Aaron had a natural heart, spirit, and desire for business and became an entrepreneur in more ways than one. He gave his life to God and became a devoted member of Shelton Temple Church of God in Christ. He started as a Deacon and was later promoted to a Licensed Minister under Pastor Shelton in 2006. He went on to receive his Elder license at the Bible College in Albany, Georgia under Pastor Willie Oates. Aaron was one who wholeheartedly loved God with all of his being. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, straightforwardness, work ethic, and caring spirit. 
 
Preceding Aaron in death were his siblings, Georgia, Rowena, Love, Marydeen, George, and John, and his beloved son Tyrone Davis.

Aaron was blessed with a large and loving family. He leaves to cherish his loving and lasting memories to his beautiful and devoted wife of 50 years, Pearlene Harris. Ten children Bernice Davis, Douglas, Georgia; Jerrell Harris (Tashekia) of Buena Vista, Georgia; Amos Harris, Buena Vista, Georgia; Benjie Harris, Marietta, Georgia; Quena Harris, Buena Vista, Georgia; Trandon Harris, Marietta, Georgia; Carl Harris, Marietta, Georgia; Mario Harris (Alicia) of Warner Robins, Georgia; Tammy Harris-Thomas (Harold II) of Americus, Georgia; Atara Harris (Chanel) Marietta Georgia; he leaves behind 23 amazing grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Two wonderful sisters: Margaret Day and Minnie P. Williams both of Wetumpka, Alabama: a supportive brother-in-law: Curtis Kelley (Fannie) Buena Vista, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and a community that truly respected and loved him dearly.

Joe Holmes Sr. was born November 9, 1963, in Dooly County, Georgia to Eloise Holmes. He was a graduate of the Historic D.F. Douglass High School. He worked at IMERYS Minerals of Andersonville, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife Carolyn Holmes, Oglethorpe, Georgia; children, Joe Holmes Jr. (Alexis), Montezuma, Georgia, Jeramie Holmes, Montezuma, Georgia, Worth Beaman, Ohio; grandchildren Camron Holmes, A’zahis Harrison, Destiny Beaman; a beloved mother, Eloise Holmes, Oglethorpe, Georgia; sister, Elizabeth Thomas; brother and sisters-in-law, Willie James, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Robert Clay, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Veronica Flournoy (Harvey), Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a devoted friends, Sandra Rice and Porsha.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 3, 2023, at Union Hill A.M.E. Church, Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

Mrs. Lillian Golphin Mitchell was born June 27, 1965, in Sumter County, Georgia to the late Glenda Peeples Ruff and the late Henry S. Golphin. She was a 1984 graduate of Tri-County High School and in 1989 she went on to receive training at Riley Institute to become a nursing assistant.  For many years she worked as a CNA, she always had a love for children so she started a home daycare.  Cherry, as she was affectionately known, departed this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Georgia.  She is now reunited with her siblings who preceded her in death, Patrick K. Hunter, Henry S. Golphin Jr., Linda F. Jones and Brenda K. Golphin.
 
Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 22 years, Eddie L. Mitchell; four daughters, Marquita Solomon, Laquita Moses (Chris), Katelynn Golphin and Ahntenna Clark; two sons, Jayln Mitchell and Eddie L. Mitchell, Jr.; a bonus daughter, Tiara Jones (Chris); twelve grandchildren, Cameron, Casey, Ejarius, Callie, Rory, Marley, Channel, Yazmin, Erin, Kha’madj, Kha’moria, and Mi’Angel; Bonus grandkids include, Skylar, Londyn, Dylan and Addiysn; two sisters, April Baker (Terrill) and Danielle Peeples; a niece and a nephew she helped rear and nurture, Eulish Kinchens and Philip Jones (Monica); other nieces and nephews include, Kapris (Jaaundriyah), Kobe, Kadrian, Britany and Raven; a host of great nieces and nephews with two of them she devoted a lot of time to, Samiya Kinchens and Jersey Peeples; aunts and uncles, Rachel Johnson, Harriett Peeples, Connie Peeples, Georgia Peeples (Annie), MacGarry Peeples (Betty), Janace Davis (Donnie), Willie Golphin, James Eddie Golphin, and Rev. Freddie Golphin; her mother-in-law, Christine Mitchell; sisters in laws, Charlene Mitchell, Virginia Mitchell and Patricia Williamson (Ray); and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Martha Ann Thomas Blackshear, age 81 passed on January 24, 2023, at the Willson Hospice House, Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, January 29, 2023, at New  Zion Hill Baptist Church, Allen Street, Leslie, Georgia. Burial will follow at Jackson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Pryor Road, Desoto, Georgia. Masks are required.

Mrs. Martha was born May 1, 1941, in Leslie, Georgia to the late Ms. Willie Ruth Hall and the late Mr. Joe Thomas. She was preceded in death by her son Mr. Kenneth Lee Thomas (Margo) and a sister Mrs. Gloria Ware. She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. Over the years she was employed in the healthcare field and worked as a CNA at Magnolia Manor of Sumter County and Sumter Regional Hospital.  She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Eddie James Blackshear. Mrs. Martha was a member of Jackson Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of her brother Rev. Eugene Hall where she served as the mother of the church, on the food ministry, and headed up the secret Santa. She also served as the President of the County Wide Mission.
 
She leaves to cherish memories to her children Mr. Anthony Bernard Thomas (Eva),  McDonough, Georgia, Dr. Valerie Roberts (Terry), Americus, Georgia, Mr. Glenn Thomas (Veronica), Lithonia, Georgia, Mrs. Stephanie Banks,( Leon), Americus, Georgia; grandchildren Darrell Thomas, Lesley Stewart, Eric Thomas, Brianna Watts, Alerie Roberts, Evan Thomas, Kyla Thomas, Kennedy Roberts, Myles Thomas; a godchild Dr. Renee Mays; siblings, Ms. Janie Ruth Billings, Ms. Collene Palmer, Ms. Frances Morris, and Rev. Samuel Lewis Minter was born June 15, 1973, in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia to Nettie Ruth Minter and the late Samuel Lamar Minter. He was educated in the public school system of Marion County where he was a 1991 graduate of Tri-County High School.  After his completion of high school, he enrolled into the United States Navy whereas he was the recipient of many awards and ribbons which included Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal and Southwest ASIA Service Medal.  He was honorably discharged July 15, 1994. During his tour of duty he served in the 97th Infantry, Gun Crews and USS STUMP CDC-9781 and Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia. On Sunday, January 15, 2023, Samuel Lewis Minter departed this life in Franklin County, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Devon Jarvoris Smith and his father, Samuel Lamar Minter.   

He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his beloved mother, Nettie Ruth Minter, Buena Vista, Georgia; four children, Nyshana Terry (Tony), Daytriel Minter, JaKeria Minter and James Carter all of Columbus, Georgia; six siblings, Maurice Minter, Lou Ann Minter, Buena Vista, Georgia, Veronica Hunter and Kenyada Minter, Adrian Minter and Sammie Minter Americus, Georgia; grandmother, Johnnie B. Minter, Buena Vista, Georgia,  uncles and aunts, Jeffery Minter, Sr. (Shadonna) and Timothy Minter (Lisa); twelve nephews, six nieces, and two great nieces; a host of loving and devoted friends including Demetria Muff-Greene and a host of other relatives.

Mary Dean Smith Williams was born June 11, 1931, in Ellaville, Georgia to the late Clifford Smith, Sr. and the late Edna Mae Dismuke Smith. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Clifford Smith Jr., Felton Smith, Willie Mae Smith , Annie Mae Terry, Nettie Lee Goodman, John O. Smith, Alton Smith, Rev. Clarence Smith, Nannie Kate Smith, Jimmie Lee, Smith, Marget Smith, and Ernest Smith. She was educated in the public school system of Schley County.   She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church of Ellaville, Georgia.  In 1956, Mary married the love of her life the late Morris Williams. To this union, two sons were born; Rodolph Williams and Curtis Wayne Williams both preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her five grandchildren, Latrice Ramsey (Jason), Columbus, Georgia, Kdrick Williams, Ellaville, Georgia, Karrell Deon Williams, Ellaville, Georgia, Markeia Banks (Travis), Americus, Georgia, Jasmine Kearse, Americus, Georgia; 15 great grandchildren, Lacey Ramsey, Lauryn Ramsey, X’avier Williams, Markadrick Williams, Morrison Williams, Kendrick Williams, Bryce Williams, Jarel Deon Williams, K’ylia Williams, Josiah Williams, Makenzie Cromer, Aaron Mitchell Jr., Ashton Mitchell, DeAngelo Kearse Jr., Jaidence Kearse; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Vera Carolyn Perkins Johnson, age 72, 2124 LaCrosse Road, Ellaville, Georgia passed Saturday, January 14, 2023, at her home. 
 
Vera was born May 16, 1950, in Macon County, Georgia to the late Mr. Clarence Perkins, Sr. and the late Mrs. Precious Harpe Perkins.  She was a 1968 graduate of John Lewis High School of Ellaville, Georgia.  She retired from Cooper Lighting of Americus, Georgia in 2012 as an assembly line technologist.
 
She was married to Deacon Willie Clarence Johnson.  She was blessed to be the mother of one daughter and four grandchildren. 
 
Being under the guidance of her mother, Sister Precious Perkins, she followed her mothers’ footsteps in attending and serving in the Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church.  After all the faithful members of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church had passed away, and the doors were closed, but the memory lived on.  She later moved her membership to Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church of Americus, Georgia under the leadership of Elder Green and later Elder Hubbard, whereas she served faithfully until her health failed.
 
Survivors of her legacy of love and many fond memories include her husband, Willie Clarence Johnson, Ellaville, Georgia; her daughter Kimberly Perkins, Albany, Georgia; four grandchildren, Kaylon Holt (one she reared as her own child), Devon Perkins (Kailey Hudson), Kamaryn Battle, Jacksonville, Florida, Collin Kelly, Albany, Georgia; one great grandchildren, Devin Perkins, Jr.; three siblings, Annie Perkins Williamson, Ellaville, Georgia, Bernice Perkins Hill, North Carolina and Sylvester Perkins (Marie), Americus, Georgia; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
