Elton Mitchell Sr. departed this earthly life on January 24, 2023, in Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 27, 2023, at Travelers Home Baptist Church, 255 Travelers Home Church Road, Ideal, Georgia. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery, Ideal, Georgia.

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.

RIP Elton, My Cousin! His Mother and My Father were 1st Cousin. Cuz had a humbling demeanor. Courteous, kind with a sharp sense of humor. I know that he loved his family and friends.
