Christine Mallard Fondren

Christine Mallard Fondren, age 64, 527 American Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia passed Thursday morning, March 26, 2015 at the Heart of Georgia INPT, Perry, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, 1195 Heflund Avenue, Warner Robins, Georgia.  Reverend Daniel Jackson, pastor, will officiate.   Interment will follow in the Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, GA Highway 26 West, Oglethorpe, Georgia. 

Christine was born December 12, 1950 in Oglethorpe, Macon County, Georgia to the late Alvin Mallard, Sr. and Carrie Ann Mahone Mallard. She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Mason, Jr., and one sister, Geneva Shealy Mitchell.  She was educated in the Macon County public school system of historic Oglethorpe Grammar School and D. F. Douglass High School.

After high school Christine moved her family to Warner Robins, Georgia, where she found employment with Peach Belt Nursing Center. She retired after thirty-eight years of dedicated services.

Christine had a new awakening in Christ Jesus, her beloved Savior, and joined that band of Christian believers at Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Daniel Jackson.  Christine was dedicated to her church and pastor.   She served as leader of the Sun Shine Crusaders Youth Group.  Chris was also a member of the Greater Springfield Senior Choir.

Survivors are a beloved husband, Earl Fondren, Warner Robins, Georgia; her children, Trina Mason, Warner Robins, GA, JoAnne Mason,  Warner Robins, Georgia, Alvin J. Mallard, Thomas J. Mallard (Beth), Fort Valley, Georgia; step-children, Veronica Fondren, Alvin Fondren, Eric Fondren, Stephanie Edwards, and Daryl  Fondren; grandchildren, Jamil B. Lane, Jamal B. Lane, Jayden M. Mason; six great grandchildren;  four siblings, Vernestine Johnson (Butch), Ernestine Harris (Curtis), all of New York, New York, Keisha Raines, Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Alvin Mallard, Jr. (Rhonda), Orlando, Florida, Sonya Robertson, Montezuma, Georgia,  Jerry Mallard, Ellaville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, including her special friends, Essie, Carrie, Betty, Kenny, Sonya, Sonny, Wendy, Katie, Sis. Ellis, Jeannette, Gracie, Ke-ke, Lashonda, and Rosa.

Mrs. Mary Lizzie Collier-Hambrick, age 81, 207 Myrtlewood Drive, Montezuma, Georgia passed Thursday, March 26, 2015 at her residence.
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the First Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.  Reverend Jeffery Randle, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow at Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
 
Mrs. Mary Lizzie Collier-Hambrick, affectionately called “Sister”, was born April 3, 1933 in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late Dave Collier Jr. and Odessa Phillips-Collier. Her husband, William Kyser Hambrick, and seven siblings, Annie Claude Forbes, Annette Collier, Arthur Collier, Charles Collier, Christine Catlin, David Collier, and Dorothy Collier, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hambrick acquired her education in the public school system of Macon County and was a graduate of Flint River Farm School, where she played on the basketball team. Mrs Hambrick, after graduating from school, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she pursued her career in education. She was a dedicated worker with the Atlanta Board of Education Public School System for 25 years.

She was a faithful member of Greater Moses Chapel Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia, where she served as the President of the Junior Mother’s Board for many years. Later, she moved back to her native home and rejoined The First Salem Baptist Church where she was a member of the Missionary Board. Her passions in life were working in the yard gardening, planting, socializing with friends and families, and cooking.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Karen Yolanda Hambrick, Atlanta, Georgia, and Sheila Veronica Hambrick, Montezuma, Georgia; two grandchildren, Jasmine Kenisha Coer, and Nicole Ashley Coer, both of Atlanta, Georgia; two siblings, Bernice Collier (Geoffrey Larry) and Rosetta Turner, both of Montezuma, Georgia; one aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, Montezuma, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Angela Collins (John) Kathleen, Georgia, Arthur Collier, Jr., (Linda) Texas, Jackie Collier, Savannah Georgia,  Milton Collier (Beverly), Henry County, Georgia, JoAnn Agee, Birmingham, Alabama, Susan Causey (Homer) Fairburn Georgia, Carolyn Forbes, Claude Lee Forbes (Linda), Darrell Forbes, Elaine Moore, Gwendolyn Forbes, Sharon English, and Wynette Collier, all of Montezuma, Georgia,  and a host of other relatives, and friends, including one close friend Mary Harrison, Montezuma, Georgia.

Overseer Willie Clyde Cannon, age 64, 229 East Rockhill Drive, Americus, Georgia passed Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia.  

A wake service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Christian Outreach Center, 515 Bumphead Road, Americus, Georgia.  The remains will lay in state at the church from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.  Burial will follow in the Staley Memorial Cemetery, Corner of Souther Field Road and Mayo Street, Americus, Georgia.
 
Overseer Willie Clyde Cannon was born May 12, 1950 in Lumpkin, Stewart County, Georgia to the late Booker T. Cannon, Sr. and Carrie E. Buford Cannon Mattox.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Brooker T. Cannon, Jr., Tommie Cannon, and Johnny Cannon. He was a 1969 graduate of Lumpkin High School, Lumpkin, Georgia.   He was a 1972 graduate of South Georgia Technical College with a degree in Upholstery and Interior Design.

He was also employed with Cooper Lighting of Americus, Georgia for thirty-five years and retired as a painter attendant. In 1985, he was the owner of Cannon Upholstery Shop of Americus, Georgia.
 
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the band of Christian believers at the Healing Temple Church of Americus, Georgia under the leadership of the late Bishop P. J. Welch and Supervisor Lillie Ruth Welch.  While at Healing Temple Church, he was the Superintendent of the Sunday School Class and President of the Usher Board Ministry.  His spirit began to grow in Christ and with his understanding of the word.  In 1998, he was ordained as an Elder under of leadership of Bishop Robert Welch of Forsyth, Georgia. He pastored in the circuit of Thomasville, Athen and Camilla, Georgia.   And in 2010 the spirit led him in the direction of leadership which flourished and matured at the Fountain Temple of Divine Faith Worship Center of Brooklyn, Georgia.  By order of Prophetess Emma Jean Thomas and the congregation, he was ordained to the head office of Overseer of Holy Tabernacle Church of Deliverance of Lumpkin, Georgia.
 
He was united in Holy matrimony to the former Mary Ann Johnson Cannon on December 22, 1979, and their union was blessed with four sons. 
 
He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his beloved family which include a loving and devoted wife of thirty four years, Mary Ann Johnson Cannon, Americus, Georgia; four sons, Willie Tervarus Cannon (Jecqullia), Lumpkin, Georgia, Terrell Cannon, Americus, Georgia, Eric D. Cannon, Americus, Georgia, and Wesley P. Cannon, Americus, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Jamarrious Cannon, Javonte’ Cannon, Ja’Quavious Cannon, Ja’Khia Cannon, Javarus Cannon, all of Lumpkin, Georgia,  Tervoria Bishop, Albany, Georgia and Ja’Quavious Angry, Americus, Georgia; three sisters, Emma Brown (William), Shirley Slaughter (John) all of Lumpkin, Georgia and Daisy Kitchens, Americus, Georgia; two brothers, Marvin Cannon and Sammy Cannon, both from Lumpkin, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Irene Allen (George), Americus, Georgia, Ineda Martin, Martha Howard, both of Ellaville, Georgia and Annie Cannon, Lumpkin, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Calvin Minter (Virginia), Americus, Georgia, Willie Johnson (Vera), Ellaville, Georgia, Luther Johnson (Linda), Americus, Georgia, Ray Johnson, Americus, Georgia, and Curtis Johnson, Cordele, Georgia; two aunts, Mary Gorden, Bloomfield, Connecticut and Majorie Chester, Richland, Georgia; an uncle, James Robert Jones, Richland, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces and nephews, including eight devoted, Carolyn Biggers, Teresa Stewart, Shervonne Austin, Alicia Allen, Curtis Johnson, Jr., Michael Kitchens, Lee James Kitchens and Nikki Brown; a host of other relatives and friends,  including three  devoted, Andy Stephens, Deacon Gordy Bridges and Missionary Beatrice Gardner.

Mary Ann Mann, age 67, 368-A US Highway 280 West, Americus, Georgia passed Thursday, March 5, 2015. 
 
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday morning, March 11, 2015 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Mask Road, Americus, Georgia.  The Reverend Jamica Kelley, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in Staley Memorial Gardens, Corner of Mayo and Southerfield Roads, Americus, Georgia.
 
Mary Ann was born April 3, 1948 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia to the late Willie Mann, Jr. and Bertha Patrick Mann.  She was a 1967 graduate of Sumter County High School. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Mann.  After forty-six years of dedicated service, she retired from Sumter County Board of Education as a Nutritionist. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she exemplified her worth on the Usher Board Ministry for twenty-six years and the Jerusalem Baptist Church Choir Ministry.
 
Survivors are nine loving siblings and their spouses, Eva Mann, Mattie Wright (Alfred), Albany, Georgia, Elder Annie Brown, Arthur Mann (Rebecca), Rev. Freddy Mann (Hattie), Willis Mann (Ruby), Dr. Cleveland Mann (Fannie), William Mann (Doris) and Ray Mann, all of Americus, Georgia; two stepbrothers; Leon Walker (Mary), and Rufus Walker; her sister-in-law, Bernice Mann, Americus, Georgia; her aunts and uncles, Josephine Mann, Mary Mann, Edith Mann, Clyde Mann, William Mann, Helen Mann and Florence Mann, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; her great aunt, Susie London, Belleglade, Florida; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
