Shuwand Denise Mann, age 48, 611 Lancing Lane, Montezuma, Georgia passed on February 13, 2018.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Zion Grove Baptist Church, Whitehouse Road, Montezuma, Georgia. The Rev. Coley Clark, Jr., pastor will officiate.  Burial will follow in Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Churches Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

I was born Shuwand Denise Mann on October 29, 1969 to the late Deacon James C. Mann and my mother Louella G. Mann in Montezuma, Macon County, Ga. I was also the granddaughter of the late Rev. John Henry and Alberta Mann and the late Claude and Gladys Grant.  I was affectionately called “Beannie” “Shaina” or  “the baby girl” being I was the youngest sister of nine siblings in which three siblings preceded me in death: my big sister Brenda Mann, Debra Fobbs and James Donell Mann.

At an early age I joined the Zion Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend E.L. Clark. As a dedicated member of Zion Grove Church I served on the usher ministry alongside my grandmother Sis. Gladys Grant and aunt Betty Carr for several dedicated years.

I was a proud 1987 graduate of Macon County High School and after graduating from high school I began my working career. One of my first jobs was working at Manhattan Shirt Company, Americus, Georgia and Yoder’s Family Restaurant, Montezuma, Georgia, until I became the human resource secretary for Southern Frozen Foods Inc. for many years.

On March 15, 1992, God blessed me abundantly with my pride and joy my one and only daughter JonTasha Shuwanda Lesarah Kaigler, the love of life. I always had a love for makeup and fashion.  Told on many occasions I’m always smiling, something I did without even knowing sometimes it was just that beautiful spirit that I carried within.  I loved helping people and I really loved my family God blessed me with a quiet and helping kind spirit and I was always thankful for it. On February 13th 2018 I became tired and God granted me peace and rest reuniting me with my daddy and siblings. My works here were done.  Weeping may endure for a night but I do know joy comes in the morning .

I leave to cherish joys of my beautiful precious memories to my very caring devoted daughter, Ms. JonTasha Kaigler, Nana’s two beautiful grand babies Amani Fowler and Karleigh Stafford all of Montezuma Ga. My mother  Mrs. Louella Mann of Montezuma Ga. My Siblings Sandra Mann Oglethorpe Ga, Eric Mann, Antonio Barron Mann, Felix (Senay) Mann all of Montezuma Ga and my devoted  Carl Akine (my backbone and best friend) of Stone Mountain Ga. Sister in law Irene Mann . Several nieces and nephews included special nephew Larry Fobbs. My god daughter Paris Freeman. My aunts and uncles Betty Carr(my second mom) Mae Bertha Jones , Edna Grant, Betty Joiner, Betty Mann, Cathy Mann, Earl Mann Sr. John (Viola) Mann, Earvin Mann, Willie(Annie) Grant, and Claude Grant Sr. My great aunts and uncles Carrie Rackley, Fannie (Jerome) Hannor, Henry Mann, Rose Lee Thomas, Sarah (Fred) Hannor, Christine Mann, Dorothy Mann and Marilyn Mann. A host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

To The Family, May you have peace and comfort during this most grievous time. The Bible speaks of death as an enemy. 1 Corinthians 15:26 refers to death as the, "last enemy." Almighty God is going to eliminate this enemy in the future. That same scripture says, it is going to be destroyed forever .What a wonderful future blessing when death is going forever. May you continue to have peace and comfort during this most difficult time.
