Carolyn Linda Harris was born in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late James Harris and the late Blanchie Harris. Toolie, as she was affectionately called by her parents and loved ones, was a well behaved and a loving child. She was a 1981 graduate of the historic D. F. Douglass High School. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Scott and Ethel Bishop. She was employed with the Macon County Sheriff Department under the administration of Sheriff Charles Cannon and currently under Sheriff Leonard Johnson. She filled many jobs titles with the department which included jailer, cook, and social worker for over twenty years.
She was a dedicated member of the First Salem Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board Ministry and supported every ministry of the church she loved so well. She would greet and welcome all the church worshippers with those big lovely eyes and made sure they were welcome.
On Monday evening, the Lord said, “Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant, you been faithful over a few things, now I’ll make you ruler over many.” Toolie, we will miss you from serving down here.
