Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.

Carolyn Linda Harris was born in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late James Harris and the late Blanchie Harris. Toolie, as she was affectionately called by her parents and loved ones, was a well behaved and a loving child.  She was a 1981 graduate of the historic D. F. Douglass High School. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Scott and Ethel Bishop.  She was employed with the Macon County Sheriff Department under the administration of Sheriff Charles Cannon and currently under Sheriff Leonard Johnson.  She filled many jobs titles with the department which included jailer, cook, and social worker for over twenty years.

She was a dedicated member of the First Salem Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board Ministry and supported every ministry of the church she loved so well.  She would greet and welcome all the church worshippers with those big lovely eyes and made sure they were welcome.

On Monday evening, the Lord said, “Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant, you been faithful over a few things, now I’ll make you ruler over many.”   Toolie, we will miss you from serving down here.

A precious one from us is gone, a voice we love is still, a place is vacant in our heart will never more be filled. Survivors include her daughter, Chelsey Harris and her granddaughter, Kamari McCloud, both of Montezuma, Georgia; her siblings and their spouses, Jamesetta Harris, Montezuma, Georgia, Johnnie Mae Tookes (Nathaniel), Perry, Georgia, Barbara Ann Wishop (Bruce) , Shirley Smith (Anthony) all of Montezuma, Georgia, Ruby Wishop, Lakeland, Florida, Ann Campbell (Noel), Leesburg, Florida; Penellia Fay Lloyd, Pennsylvania; Dorothy Ann McKenzie, Annett McKenzie, Mary McKenzie, Shirley McKenzie, Billy Shelley (Ruthie) all of Montezuma, Georgia, Jerome McKenzie, Zebulon, Georgia, Ricky McKenzie (Victoria) Dooling, Georgia, Keith McKenzie, Reynolds, Georgia, John McKenzie, Jr., New York; a loving and dedicated uncle, Reverend Alfred Wynn, Montezuma, Georgia and a host of beloved nieces and nephews including one devoted nephew Demeric Kendrick; uncle and aunts;  Rev. My friend, you will be missed. The conversation we last had, keeps playing over in my mind. Toolie called me to see how I was doing after losing my brother Phillip and having to be quarantine. She was so kind and always was concerned about the feelings of others. I'm going to miss Toolie's phone calls and seeing her at the Shopping plaza. Chelsey and family, you have my heartfelt condolences. RIP Toolie, til we meet again!😢

To The Harris Family
Losing a dear love one is never easy, it always bring pain and sorrow. Remember the many lives she’d touched, the joys and laughter during her life. When you are feeling sad don’t give in let it go and Roll it on him. We’re not alone, we can pray, because he hears our words and feel our pain. Don’t keep it in just Roll it on him.
