The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at First Salem Baptist Church, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
Mr. Maurice Eugene Turner, the son of the late Charles E. Turner and Elizabeth Turner, was born August 29, 1969 in Atlanta, Georgia. He accepted Christ at an early age and later joined First Iconium Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Maurice was a graduate of Walker High School in Atlanta, Georgia in 1987. He also attended Dekalb Junior College. He loved his son and family very much. He had a passion for music and photography. He started his career at Northside Hospital, where he worked 23 years.
His father and brother preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish precious memories to his son Sincere Mekhi Turner, Charlotte, North Carolina; his mother and very best friend, Elizabeth Turner, Atlanta, Georgia; his sister, Renita Mitchell Washington Collins, Palmetto, Georgia; his grandmother, favorite cook, and loyal friend, Ms. Carrie Rackley, Montezuma, Georgia; his aunts, Ms. Pharis Clark, Montezuma, Georgia, Ms. Leslie (Frank) Wilburn, Montezuma, Georgia, Ms. Cecelia (Emmett) Marshall, Stockbridge, Georgia, Ms. Lula (Chris) Rackley, Atlanta, Georgia, Zebbie Dell Rackley, Union City, Georgia, Ms. Judie Gable, Montezuma, Georgia, Ms. Phyllistine (David) Gardner, Marietta, Georgia; his uncles, Mr. Leonard (Lounell) Rackley, Mr. John Harris, Mr. John Bernard (Dianna) Rackley, and Mr. Curtis Rackley all of Montezuma, Georgia; his godbrothers, Arrion Rackley, Ricky Thornton, Robert Gay, Travis Hill, Rickey Simpkin, Tremaine Perkins, Rodney Cheeks, Chad Chappel, and Eric Clark; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
