On September 27, 1942, Mrs. Jamie Louise Blue Rumph was delivered from Heaven above into the loving arms of her parents, the late Mr. Robert Blue and Mrs. Jamie Jones Blue in Macon County, Georgia. At the age of 77, our beloved, Jamie Rumph, known best as “Sister Blue,” rejoined her Heavenly Father on November 17, 2019.
Sister Blue gave her life to the Lord at an early age and became a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She attended Sunday School, BTU, and faithfully served in the Junior Choir and the Senior Choir.
Sister Blue began her education at Lamson-Richardson Elementary School in Marshallville, Georgia and graduated in 1960 from the Douglass High School in Montezuma, Georgia.
She worked at various employers including Fort Valley State University as a Dorm Mom until retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jamie Blue and her oldest brother, Thomas Blue. She leave to cherish her memories, one son, Harold Demetrius Rumph (Joi). Three devoted adopted daughters, Oliver Ann Barner, Fort Valley, Georgia; Toya Rumph, Acworth, Georgia; Marilyn White-Herron (Charles), Warner Robins, Georgia. Five grandchildren, Victoria Norton, Zackery Rumph, Christian Harper; and two devoted grands, Demetrius Xavier Rumph and Brianna Barner whom she raised as her own. Three sisters, Sara (Tiny) White, Warner Robins, Georgia; Barbara Tinker, Decatur, Georgia; Carolyn Jennings, McDonough, Georgia. Three brothers, Edward Blue (Beuletta), New Rochelle, New York; Frederick Blue (Denise), Locust, Georgia; Alfred Fuller, Marshallville, Georgia. Three devoted cousins and best friend, Sandra McGhee, Warner Robins, Georgia; Rose Ann Taylor, Montezuma, Georgia; Ruth Felton Bryant, Marshallville, Georgia. A host of nieces and nephews including two whom she raised as her own, Todd Mitchell Blue, Oakland, California; Michael Andre Crocker, Longwood, Florida.
