Tara Lajanna Mercer, age 46, 174 Walnut Avenue, Leesburg, Georgia passed November 27, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Medical Center, Albany, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the New Zion Hill Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 118 (Allen Street), Leslie, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
Tara Lajanna Mercer was born on August 9, 1973 in Americus, Georgia to the late Oscar Lee Mercer, Sr. and the late Catherine Thomas Mercer. She was the granddaughter of the late Reverend Leroy Thomas and the late Susie Mae and Lonnie Mercer, Sr. She also preceded in death by one sister, the late Evangelist Cathy Mercer, and one brother, Oscar Lee Mercer Jr.
Survivors include a loving and devoted maternal grandmother, Mrs. Clara Thomas, Leslie, Georgia; five siblings, Min. Gwenevere Adams (Mohandas), Albany, Georgia, Steven Mercer, Albany, Georgia, Min. Kelvin Mercer (Tadia), Leesburg, Georgia, Melvin Mercer (Sherronda), Warner Robins, Georgia, and Angela Jones of Leesburg, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, Maurice, Sakeida (Timothy), Justin, Jasmine, Tayvius (Brittany), Jamil, Alexandra, Alexeus, Kianna, Kierra (Cortnai), Mariah, Ja’Kneeca (Kameron), Keon, Charles, Jr., Ashley, Roland, Larry, Julius, Brianna and Shemia; aunts and uncles, Willis Thomas, Eddie Thomas (Velma) all of Desoto, Georgia, Leroy Thomas (Deborah), Vidalia, Georgia, Min.
