Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Torrey Lamont Allen was born July 2, 1978 in Vienna, Georgia to Kenneth and Elsie Martin. He was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Ms. Bessie Clara Mallard and Ms. Thelma Martin.
Torrey was known to many as “Mooney” or “MoontDawg.” He attended D.F. Douglass High School. Mooney loved sports; at an early age he enjoyed playing football for the recreational department. He worked at King Custom Builders. He loved to cook for his family and the Marshallville Community.
He leaves a devoted companion, Rhonda Byse. He was blessed to be the Dad of six children, Ms. Alexis Byse of Marshallville, Georgia, Ms. Jasmine Allen, San Diego, California, Kemar McGhee, Torrie Allen, Tamara Allen, Tu'Reyona Allen all of Marshallville, Georgia, and grandfather to one grandson, Haiden Byse, Marshallville, Georgia. He also leaves to his beloved parents, Ms. Elsie Martin, Byron, Georgia, and Mr. Kenneth Martin, (Joyce) Ellaville, Georgia; four beloved siblings; Mrs. Tameka Smith (Wesley) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. Rodrick Allen (Q’Shantee) Perry, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Kendelyn (Jesse) Freeman of Byron, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan (Laquawn) Felton of Warner Robins, Georgia; beloved aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Marzarena) Allen, Mr. Thomas Sanders, Ms. Betty Lou Engram, and Mrs. Carol Neal (Jimmy) all of Montezuma, Georgia, Mr. William Martin (Betty Jean), Mr. Richard Fuller, Mr. Robert Fuller, and Mr. Milton Fuller all of Marshallville, Georgia, Mrs. Mary Washington (James), Cocoa Beach, Florida, Mrs. Martha Keller (John) of New Jersey, and Mrs. Debra Allen Davis of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; devotes friends, Deon Slappy, Alex Rumph, Ray Germany, ShonMcGhee, Jared Lindsey, and a nephew he treated as his own, Davonte Allen.
