Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Vienna City Cemetery, Vienna, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Larry James Barron was born on September 2, 1955 the 10th and youngest child to Coy Barron Sr. and Rosa Lee Barron of Byromville Georgia. Larry was a 1974 graduate of Vienna High School, and he attended Albany State College after graduation. Larry was the proud owner of Barron ’s Barbecue Sauce where he patterned his recipe in honor of his mother, Rosa Lee.
He was an ordained deacon at Reedy Branch Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher and organizer and head of the Fletcher Bloom Foundation.
Some of his hobbies included golfing, weightlifting, cooking and sharing recipes. Larry was a friendly person who always had a smile on his face. He once was a very successful car salesman in Greensboro, North Carolina. His last employments included Blue Bird Body County and HSM in Fort Valley, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Danita Haugabook Pough, and two brothers, Sammy Lee Barron and John T. Barron.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Denise Harden-Barron; his daughter, Stephanie Smith Wellons; granddaughter, Kinslee Wellons; siblings, Coy Barron Sr., Willie Fred Barron (Louise) Joseph Barron, Ben Barron, Janie M. Winters, David Barron (Ariebelle), and Judy Barron (Jimmy); and mother-in-law, Bernice Harden, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
