The funeral service of Mrs. Zelma Lee Crumbley Holt, formerly of Buena Vista, Georgia, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Whole Truth International Ministries Inc., 502 South Lee Street, Americus, Georgia.  Burial will follow at Kingsville Memorial Cemetery, 102 Firetower Road, Cusseta, Georgia.

Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.

Mrs. Zelma Lee Crumbley Holt was born on November 1, 1951, to the parentage of the late Reverend Robert Lee Crumbley Sr. and Lula Maxie Paris Crumbley.

Zel, as she was affectionately called, attended and graduated from Buena Vista High School in Buena Vista Georgia in 1969. At an early age, she joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Buena Vista, Georgia.  She later moved away to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she attended various churches in that area.  Zel tuned in often to the Whole Truth International Ministries Inc and Whole Truth Women Book Study online.

Zel was a woman of faith and was very stern in her message, but everything was purely out of love. Her grandchildren, nieces and nephews knew her to mean what she say and say what she meant.  She was a jewel that will never be forgotten.

On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, the Lord saw that Zel needed some rest, so he gently whispered come on home.  Well done thy good and faithful servant.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Leroy, Willie Edward, Mary Ann, Pearlene, Marvin, Helen and Samuel. She leaves many loving and fond memories to her devoted and beloved daughter, Cheryl (Ricky) Ellis, her grandchildren: Ricky Holt (fiancée Kerah) and Rashard Ellis all of Tuscaloosa Alabama; her only great-grandson Kameron Holt (as he called her his sweet thang) Tuscaloosa, Alabama; siblings: Ruby (James) Herron of Westerville, Ohio, Robert (Myrtice) Crumbley of Buena Vista Georgia, Essie (Johnny) Robinson of College Park, Georgia, Minister Maxine Crumbley of Greenville, South Carolina, Pasty (Robert) Ford, Buena Vista, Georgia William Crumbley and Minister Debra (Pastor George) Monts both of Americus, Georgia.  Sister-in-law Jennifer Crumbley Newnan, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her unconditionally; including special friends: Joann Glass of Brooklyn, New York, Julie Taylor of Buena Vista, Georgia Patricia Peterson of Cusseta, Georgia; the Ellis family of Uniontown, Alabama and her extended families on Hwy 26 Buena Vista, Georgia

Love and heartfelt sympathy sent to Cheryl and the family, Zelma was the love of my dad and brother, Mr. Porter and Bobby. She always had a word or time for them. She was just like a daughter and sister to both of them while they were here on earth. Zelma was a kind person to know and have as a friend. When she wanted to tell us off, she would and then tell us I love u all. Always a beautiful person to have known. I will always remember that she got my number from someone so she could get on me for not calling, I felt that was love in a special. Have missed her from taking her stroll to town up 26 when she could. Trust Cheryl, and u will be 0kay after a time, the missing and love will always be with u!
