The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia. Reverend Larry Sims, pastor of Union Tabernacle, will officiate.
Mr. Walton was born December 7, 1918 in Richland, Stewart County, Georgia to the late Alice Walton. He was educated in the public school system and he acquired his Christian training from the local churches.
He was married to the former Sarah Yates, and to this union seven children were born, six preceded him in death.
He was a member of Union Tabernacle Baptist Church. He retired from Walton Snack Bar after many years of dedicated service as a cook and proprietor.
Survivors are a beloved wife of sixty-four years, Sarah Yates Walton of Americus, Georgia; one daughter, Johnnie Vaughn (Robert), Americus, Georgia; daughters-in-law Hazel Brown, Newark, New Jersey, and Patricia Walton, Americus, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Sheila Moran, Brunswick, Georgia, Shonda Reid, Chicago, Illinois, Stacey Towns, Americus, Georgia, Carlton Zanders, Arkansas, Kamika Bush, Teresa Stewart, and Whitley Walton all of Americus, Georgia, Dante’ Walton, Jr. (BJ), Texas, Connie Davis, and Kenyatta Thomas, Americus, Georgia; twenty great grandchildren, Alisa Moran, D’Andrea Bridges, Dominique Towns, Alexus, Jaeda, Tytianni, Mykya, Mykyree, E.J., Jalenique, M’Kaelah, A’Lela, Tyneisha, Sweet Pea, Mauri, Sean, Kennedy, Mia, Krersten and Jordan; five great great grandchildren, Jessica Thornton, Arman, Tracy, Mia and Anthony; son-in-law Charles Davis a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
