Willie Coleman Suggs, Jr. was born April 3, 1933 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Willie Coleman Suggs, Sr. and Luverne Fish Suggs. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County. At an early age, he joined the Hopewell C.M.E. Church (currently named Hopewell Independent Church) of Rupert, Macon County, Georgia.
On May 1, 1954, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Annie Jones and to this union they were blessed with one daughter, Annie, who they call “Jodie.”
Junior Suggs, as he was affectionately called, was a hard working man. No job was too big for him to handle. For many years, he was employed with Southern Frozen Food, Inc., a self-employed farmer and Macon County School Bus Driver. Junior did not give in to his sickness but his body gave out. On Saturday morning, October 15, 2016, Junior joined that great caravan of loved ones and believers and we believe the Lord himself said, “Well Done, My Good and Faithful Servant, come on home and rest.”
Survivors are his wife, Annie Neal Jones Suggs, Ellaville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Annie Leary (Eddie), Macon, Georgia; granddaughter, Anesha Leary, Macon, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Anilahj, Hajuan, and Jerimiah: sister, Louise Harris, Ideal, Georgia; brother-in-law, Thomas Frank Jones; Ellaville, Georgia; sister-in-law, Christine Jones, Ellaville, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
