
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May 16, 2019, Jehovah Baptist Church, 201 Chatham Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow in Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Willie Junior Brooks was born in Ideal, Macon County, Georgia on July 12, 1953 to the late Willie C. Brooks and Sarah Fulks Brooks. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County where he acquired his elementary education in the historic Oglethorpe Grammar School and later he graduated from the historic D.F. Douglas High School in 1972. He was employed with various companies including Southern Frozen Food, Inc., Cooper Lighting Company (Metalux), and later at the UTIL Auto Company of Atlanta, Georgia as a fork lift driver.
He is survived by two sisters, Easter Brooks Mahone (Carey), Oglethorpe, Georgia and Essie Brooks Duncan (Ronald), Montezuma, Georgia; a devoted cousin who was like a brother, Charlie Carson, Atlanta, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Luquanda Jackson (Marcel), Michael Mahone, Ronald Duncan (Jasmine), Kyla Duncan; great nieces and nephews, Chasity Mahone, Jamiah Duncan, Jaron Duncan, Madison Jackson; aunts and uncles, Charles Fulks, Brunswick, Georgia, Farris Rice, New York, New York, Maxine Platts, Miami, Florida, John Thomas Brooks, Miami, Florida; and a devoted friend and caretaker, Sabrina Durham.
