The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday morning, June 25, 2011 at New Corinth Baptist Church, Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery.
Willie James was born October 8, 1955 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to the late Henry Monford, Sr. and Mary Kate Minter Monford. He was a 1973 graduate of John Lewis High School. Two sisters, Geraldine Monford and Lucille Monford, preceded him in death.
He was employed with Cooper Lightning of Americus, Georgia as a forklift driver.
Survivors are a beloved wife of 33 years, Janice Harvey Monford, Ellaville, Georgia; three children, Cedric Monford, Atlanta, Georgia, Cassandra Monford, Americus, Georgia and Marisha Monford, Ellaville, Georgia; two grandchildren, Robert Smith, Jr. and Jayden Monford; six siblings, Henry (Mae) Monford, Arlington, Georgia, Daniel (Minnie) Monford, Decatur, Georgia, Lena King, Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Ann Monford, Charlotte, North Carolina, Clarence Stewart, Atlanta, Georgia and Bobby (Sherry) Monford, Atlanta, Georgia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph (Lanelle) Harvey, Jr., Jonesboro, Georgia, Harry (Annie Bob) Harvey, Summerville, Georgia, James (Clara) Harvey, Jonesboro, Georgia, Carolyn Mays, Anniston, Alabama, Ronnie (Sabrina) Harvey, Buena Vista, Georgia, Gwendolyn (Pervis) Sheldon, Stone Mountain, Georgia and Rex (Cathy) Harvey, Cusseta, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Myrtice Minter, Catherine King, Albert Minter, Zola Burton Minter, and Michael Minter; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
