The funeral service was conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.
Tony Robinson was born August 7, 1948 in Lexington, South Carolina to the parentage of the late Jevery and Annie Pearl Gardner Robinson. He was a brother of eight siblings. Three oldest siblings and his youngest sibling preceded him in death: Jevery Robinson, Jr., Sylvia Robinson Stewart, Juanita Marie Robinson, and June Robinson.
He was a man of very few spoken words among his love ones unless he had something vitally important to say. In return his laughter was like a thunderous soft mountain. He also was a Vietnam E-6 soldier for several years until he got out about 1971. But before that he was a soldier for his father and mother. The first and only man that he ever became a co-owner of Self contract Construction Concrete Company and labored hard for was his dad at the young tender age of seven years old. Tony worked in the mountains of Huntsville, Alabama working with nitroglycerin explosions.
He leaves behind a wife he loved, Sonja Robinson, and five children: three beautiful strong daughters, his oldest Kenyata Ellis, Celine Robinson, youngest Toni Robinson (his namesake), of whom he was very proud until his dying day; two boys, Sidney A. Ellis, Jr. and Jamal Ellis; four siblings, Patricia R. Johnson, Rickey D. Robinson, Glenda R. Whitehead, Sherry R. Johnson; one sister-in-law; Karen Hubbard Howard; one brother-in-law James Hubbert (Olivia), and leaving an Army and Marine size of nephews, nieces and great nephews/great nieces, a host of other relatives and friends.
