
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, May 23, 2022, at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.
Thomas Grover Jr., known by family and friends as Dubo, Snake, and Big Daddy, was born July 26, 1929 in Ideal, Macon County, Georgia to the late Carrie Moyee and the late Emmitt Banks, Sr. After his mother married, Thomas’ name was changed to Thomas Grover Jr. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County.
After finishing school he enlisted into the United States Army whereas he was honorably discharged the 5th day of August 1958 as a Corporal. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Ruby Garrett, Christine Brown, Lothis Ross, Hattie Shorter, Roosevelt Banks and Joe Lewis Robinson.
His career included various jobs whereas he retired from the Macon County Commission, Public Works Department after 22 years of dedicated service. Thomas joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Andersonville, Georgia April 3, 2022. He faithfully supported the Youth Ministry and their activities.
Thomas met and married the love of his life, Lucille Frederick Grover and they spent 71 years of love and devotion and this love was passed on to their children. He was blessed with four daughters, (Carolyn Lynette Grover, who preceded him in death) Cynthia Elaine Haslam and Lisa Machelle Minter both of Warner Robins, Georgia and Mary Helen Clark (Richard), Miami, Florida; god daughter, Deundra Frederick, Warner Robins, Georgia; Five grandchildren, Kelvin Stevon Grover, Sidney Latoi Haslam, Sabrina Fuller (Dexter), Rhonda Seabrook (Johnny) and Rashard Clark (Darling); a host of great grandchildren; six siblings Geraldine Robinson and Helen Robinson both of Ideal, Georgia, Claudia Robinson, Macon, Georgia, Lizzie Waters, Atlanta, Georgia, Emmitt Banks (Ruby) Atlanta, Georgia and Leonard McKellar, Oglethorpe, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Mary L. Rogers, Ellaville, Georgia and Ann Frederick, Americus, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
