Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday August 17, 2022, at the Taylor’s Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Paynebottom Community, Ellaville, Macon County, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Tarry was born August 14, 1949, to the late Mr. Homer Harpe and the late Mrs. Ora Mae Duncan Harpe. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Herman “Sonny” Harpe, Ailene Harpe Fulks and Marion Harpe Smith.
Tarry was educated in the public school system of Macon County whereas he acquired his education in the historic Ideal Elementary School and the Oglethorpe Grammar School.
Tarry was a trained dry wall finisher and after many years of dedicated services he retired a dry wall contractor.
Tarry loved life centered around the life of, Barbara Brown. She later became his wife and to this union they were blessed with eight children, one of their daughters preceded him in death, Paraknecee.
Left to praise him with love and adoration is his wife, Barbara Brown Harpe, Oglethorpe, Georgia; his children, Tony Walker (Carlia), Shertangia (James) all of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Lashunder Sparks (Eric), Hinesville, Georgia, Temeka Harpe Moses (Willie), Americus, Georgia, Reneka Draines (Duane), Warner Robins, Georgia, Rekneesha Harpe, and Trivia Harpe (Jerdarrius) Oglethorpe, Georgia; 18 Grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren; four siblings Eddie C. Harpe, Raleigh, North Carolina, Vera Harpe Beal, Betty Harpe, and Shelyn Harp all of Ideal, Georgia; devoted uncle, James Brown, Oglethorpe, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law considered him closer than a brother which include, Angela Grady, Griffin, Georgia, Mrs. Gwendolyn Leggett (Deacon Christopher), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Helen Ivory, Montezuma, Georgia, Patricia Ivory Oglethorpe, Georgia, Eugene Ivory, Jr. (Alex) Ft. Valley, Georgia, Eric Ivory (Tivesha) Byron, Georgia, Rev. Rodney Duncan (Velma), Cordele, Georgia. Elzie “Bull”Fulks, Sr. Ideal, Georgia and M.L. Ellis, Atlanta, Georgia; a loving aunt Alice Duncan, Oglethorpe, Georgia; a devoted friend, Johnny Robinson; a host of nieces and nephews including a very devoted nephew, Rodney Harpe; other relatives and friends.
