
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Buena Vista City Cemetery, 3rd Avenue, Buena Vista, Georgia. The Reverend Ula C. McCray, pastor of Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, will officiate.
Sylvester Lee Harper was born April 1, 1954 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama to the late Ed Harper and Erma Herron Harper. He was a 1971 graduate of Wenonah High School and a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marilyn Hale. He was a member of the Hamilton 365 Masonic Lodge of Montgomery, Alabama.
A loving and devoted wife of forty-three years, Geneva Evans Harper, Buena Vista, Georgia; six children, Anthony Evans, Sr., Buena Vista, Georgia, Sylvester Evans (Akeyvya) Cusseta, Georgia, Lakishia Evans, Buena Vista, Georgia, Jeanetta Harper, Birmingham, Alabama, Scharlita Evans, Warner Robins, Georgia and Shacorriol Sampson, Buena Vista, Georgia; eight grandchildren; four siblings, Harvis Harper (Sylvia) Birmingham, Alabama, Charles Harper (Janice), Hoover, Alabama, Joseph Harpse (Loretha), Atlanta, Georgia and Antoinette McCray (Rev. Ula C. McCray), Birmingham, Alabama; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Leila Jolly, Atlanta, Georgia, Emma Coleman and Melvin Charley, Birmingham, Alabama; a special niece, Shondra Jolly, Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
