Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday March 22, 2020 at Colonial Felton Cemetery, 100 Cemetery Drive, Marshallville, Georgia.
Please also be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Shawn Postell AKA (Adisa Onyemachi) was born January 9, 1972 in Marshallville, Ga to Mary Ann Postell and Melvin Postell Sr. (Sefu). He received his public education for the public school system of Fulton County. He attended Northside High school in Atlanta, Ga and Tri-Cities High School in East Point, Ga. He also attended the Pan African Orthodox Christian Church at an early age, where he studied religion, African history, community living which earned him the name Adisa Onyemachi which means one who make his meaning clear and knows God’s will.
For a number of years he was employed with Step-2, Walmart and various jobs. Adisa decided to branch out and became a truck driver and became an owner/operator truck driver through L. J. Rogers Trucking Company. Adisa was fun loving person to all who knew him.
He leaves a legacy of fond memories to his beloved family and friends, he leaves to cherish forever his mother and father Mary Ann Postell and Melvin Postell Sr. (Sefu) including the love of his life Patrice Smith four children Joshua Williams, Dizhanique Postell, Daizhon Postell, and D’Shawn Postell; his step-children Nijas Ogburn, Accajhuann Smith, and Thajai Colbert; one grandson Zyheir M. Carr; four siblings Melvin Postell Jr., Shandricka Postell of Marshallville, Ga and Kokayi Postell of Acura, Ghana, Shomari Postell of Macon, Ga. His grandmother Altomese Tiny Taylor; A host of beloved nieces and nephews. A host of aunts and uncles including his favorite aunt Larbarba Taylor, Francine Miller, Mildred Bearden (Tyrone), Judy Taylor,Bruce Taylor(Allison) Malcom Taylor (Sabrina), Berthia Jones, Annie Lizzie Postell, Eva Mae Jones, and Morris Postell.
; a devoted friend and cousin Mike Buckner and long time high school friend Thomas Evans.
