The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Jehovah Baptist Church, 201 Chatham Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow at Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Rosie Mae Lamb Harmon was born December 24, 1934, in Garden Valley, Macon County, Georgia, to the late Annie Bell Lamb and the late Joe Lamb. She was educated in the public school system. She was employed at the Montezuma Nursing Home for years and worked at the Southern Frozen Food until she retired. She loved to fish, sew, cook, and read in her spare time. She was blessed with three children. Her son, Dexter Neal Harmon, preceded her in death.
She leaves a legacy of love from her loving daughters, Deborah Allen (Roy), Verna Hayes, both from Oglethorpe, Georgia. She had six siblings to precede her in death: Seab Lamb, Ruben Lamb, Charlie Willis Lamb, Ophelia Wells, Fronnie Humphries, and Consawilla Gouch.
She will also be cherished by her beloved grandchildren, Ernest Allen Jr., Dexter Harmon Jr., Nikki Turner (Nicholas), Petra Andrews (Ashley), Kelbreasha Harmon, Cordero Harmon, Ebony Owens, and Justin Hicks. Two grandchildren, Yomesha Harmon and Shakendra Hayes, preceded her in death. Lastly, her legacy will be carried on by 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
