Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Rosetta Ella Jackson was born April 24, 1947 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia to Blessie Brown Jackson and late Monroe Jackson Sr. She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County and was a graduate of Sumter County High School. She worked as a Dietician at the Sumter Hospital. She was a member of Power of Faith Deliverance Church where she served as the mother of the church. Rosetta was known for cooking and her family loved her collard greens.
Born in a family of thirteen siblings, she was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Monroe Jackson Sr., and two brothers, Monroe Jackson Jr. and James Jackson.
She leaves a legacy of love and loving memories to her beloved family, including the following: a loving mother, Mrs. Blessie Brown Jackson, Americus, Georgia; ten siblings, Curtis (Willa) Jackson, Smithville, Georgia, Annie Ruth J. Angrish, Geraldine Jackson, Robert Jackson, Bell Jackson, Madeline Cooke, Gloria Jackson, Bessie Mae Jackson, and Wallace (Sherlyn) Jackson, all of Americus, Georgia, and Rev. Sallie (Pastor Earl) Williams, Hinesville, Georgia; a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
