Rose Ann Grant, affectionately known as Rose to her friends, and Aunt Rose to her immediate family, received her wings on Monday, September 9th, 2019.
Rose was born to the late Andrew and Sallie Williams on May 6th, 1930, in Montezuma Georgia. Montezuma Georgia is where she spent her formative years working alongside her sisters on the family farm.
Rose married the late Henry Felton, and migrated to South Miami, Florida where she spent a major part of her adult life. She was a housewife, a domestic worker, and had an entrepreneurial spirit that led them to invest in a farmstead with crops and livestock, which they sold to the markets to enhance the lives of their family, all the while raising two children that she absolutely adored.
After her divorce she migrated to Akron, Ohio, and found employment at Rocky Knoll nursing home for many years. During this period, she met and married the late Mr. Marvin Grant. After Marvin retired, they both migrated back home to Montezuma Georgia where they were both born and raised. Marvin and Rose spent many happy years in Montezuma where she had a passion for growing flowers, and entertaining family and friends.
She was smart, creative, energetic, and a loving and caring friend. She was strong-willed and a warrior through tough times, and a winner in most cases.
She is preceded by four sisters; Laura, Elizabeth, Ruth and Gracie Mae, a brother, Willis (Sport) Jackson, along with her late husband Marvin Grant.
Rose leaves two children, Betty Jones and Felix Felton, and a host of grand and great grandchildren.
She was an endearing Aunt to a host of nieces and nephews that to this day surround her with eternal love.
She often said that one of her greatest achievements in life was “Happiness and the Peace of God”. May She Rest In Peace!
