
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Colonel Felton Cemetery, 504 South Street, Marshallville, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Robert Darnell “Dave” Walton was born in Marshallville, Georgia to the late Robert Lee Walton and the late Cella Ruffin Walton. He acquired his education from Georgia School for the Deaf, Cave Springs, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by two siblings Jerry Porter and Janice Bearden; aunts and uncles, Jimmie Lee Walton, John Walton, Willie James Walton, Johnnie Mae Rumph and Mary Lizzie Warren.
Dave, as he was affectionately known, was a well loved person in the community of Marshallville. He and his very good friend “Bo” who preceded him in death would be seen riding their bicycles through the community. He also repaired his bike and other children's bikes. He was a person who had a heart of gold.
He leaves to cherish his memories seven siblings Robbie Robinson, Jessie Mae Paster (Terry), all of Marshallville, Georgia, Tracy Bearden (Joann), Columbus, Georgia, Janette Crocker (Wayne), Nebraska, Tyrone Bearden (Mildred), South Carolina, Penny Ogletree, and Wanda Brown, both of Fort Valley, Georgia; aunts and uncle Rosetta Walton Anderson, New York, Connie Lane, Marshallville, Georgia, Edith Rumph, Hinesville, Georgia, and Charlie Walton, New York; a host of nieces, nephews including one devoted niece, Tamessia Robinson, and three devoted great nieces, La’Quassia, Ta’Quandria, and Star’Kecia Robinson and a great nephew, Jy’Quarius Jackson; two devoted cousins, Johnnie Jones and Willie Mae Respress and a devoted and loving cousin Alfonza “Ricky” Lane other relatives and friends.
