Robert "O. C." Harp was born August 11, 1931 in Oglethorpe, Macon County, Georgia to the late Edith Mae Harp. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County, Georgia. Four siblings preceded him in death, Lester Harp, Mary Lois Tookes, Geraldine Washington and Autra Mae Tookes. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he pursued a job in long distant tractor trailer driving. "O. C." as he was called by family and friends accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the church in Jacksonville, Florida. After many dedicated years of service, he retired.
Survivors are a sister-in-law, Mattie Pearl Harp, Oglethorpe, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Edith Washington, Georgia Ann Washington, Sarah Washington, all of Jacksonville, Florida, Linda Washington, Mattie Zell Harp, Joan Harp Rocquemore, Glandice Fitzhugh, Lamar Tookes (Cynthia), Dorothy Harp, all of Atlanta, Georgia, Easter Tookes, Sandra Gail Washington, Jerry Washington, Margaret English, Mary Ann Edward, Irma Tookes, Dottie Tookes, all of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Milton Tookes (Charlene), Station in Tennessee, Lois Rice (Hargis), Perry, Georgia, Gloria Dean Thomas (Rev. Thomas), Buena Vista, Georgia, Queen Minter (Colvin), Ellaville, Georgia, Willie Tookes (Betty), Fort Valley, Georgia, Varnell Sneed, Byron, Georgia and Walter Ford, Columbus, Georgia; a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends, including a devoted friend Charles Hall, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
