Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday morning, February 12, 2022 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Whiteline Street, Montezuma, Georgia. The Reverend Keith Givens will officiate.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Richard was born April 28, 1967 in Reynolds, Taylor County, Georgia to Joyce Green Carson and the late Henry Clay Carson. He acquired his education in the Macon County Public School whereas he obtained his high school education from the historic D.F. Douglass High School. Richard was employed with Purdue of Perry, Georgia for Thirteen years until he retired as a packer.
Richard leaves many fond memories to his son, Devante Joiner, Perry, Georgia; his loving mother, Joyce Carson, Montezuma, Georgia; three brothers, Reginald Carson, Marvin Carson, both of Montezuma, Georgia, and Brian Carson (Shericka) of Warner Robins, Georgia; maternal aunts and uncles, Mildred Wells (Robert) Oglethorpe, Georgia, Janette Fields, Perry, Georgia, Ethel Mae Bailey, Atlanta, Georgia and Mary Francis Gilchrist (Eddie) Oglethorpe, Georgia, Ilene Wilder, Listerine Brooks, Katie Garner, all of Atlanta, Georgia Rozen Anderson, California, Clara Monford, Loretha Brady (Ronald) all of Atlanta, Georgia; maternal uncle, Herman Green (Hattie), Atlanta, Georgia; paternal aunts and uncles, Mae Julia Troutman (Wade), Marion, Ohio, Patricia Simmon (Jimmie), Florence, Alabama and Corene Ford, Reynolds, Georgia; great aunts and great uncles, Arlean Green Wilder, Herman Green (Hattie), Atlanta, Georgia, Lillie Manson, Hartford, Connecticut; Willie Jerome Troutman, Alfred Troutman, And Willie Edward Troutman all of Marion Ohio, Esmond Turner, Atlanta, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends, including two devoted friends Donna Cosby and David Cosby of Locust Grove, Georgia.
