
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Magnolia Baptist Church, 415 Hosie Waters Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery Rostrum, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.
Rev. Charlie Lee Kendrick was born February 21, 1950 in Henderson, Georgia to the late E.T. and Mary Lee Kendrick. He was the sixth of ten siblings (four preceded him in death). He was educated in the Houston County and Idaho School Systems. Rev. Kendrick served his country in the United States Armed Forces and National Guard Reserve for several years, where he earned an honorable discharge.
At an early age, he gave his life to Christ. He was an avid bible scholar, who loved the Word of God. To enhance his biblical knowledge, he attended Carver Bible College where he excelled in each class, he was loved and respected by each professor.
He was a great humanitarian, always had an encouraging word, leading many to Christ. He served many years as Chairman of the Board of Deacons at Greater Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. He had a passion for worship, praying, fellowshipping with his brothers-in-Christ, and most of all singing the hymns of the church. He also served many years leading bible study classes, conducting church services and mentoring at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health System for boys and girls.
Rev. Kendrick answered the call of the Lord to serve as an Under Shepherd, so he founded and pastored the Holy Spirit Led Ministries.
Rev. Kendrick was an awesome family man who absolutely loved his family. Family was very important to him as he enjoyed gathering the family and friends together at Thanksgiving and during other holidays.
Rev. Charlie Kendrick is preceded in death by his parents, E.T. and Mary Lee Kendrick; brothers, Willie B, Lewis and E.T. Kendrick; sister, Georgie Ruth Johnson; and daughter, Kimberly Kendrick.
He departed this life on Friday, May 11, 2018 leaving to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 39 years, Mrs. Pearlie Kendrick; daughters, Chandra and Youlander Sawyer, Thomescina Sims (Rudy), Jadonnia Kendrick (Stanley); grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremiah Sims; Keyonna, Jemarion and Demarion Sanders; siblings, Rena Mason, Eddie Robinson (Sarah), Mattie Leggett, Lizzie Byrd (Ted), Harry Robinson; a host of loving sisters & brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
