Reuben "Bungi" Alston, Jr., age 32, 1669 Highway 49 South, Oglethorpe, Georgia passed Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday morning, March 24, 2012 at First Salem Baptist Church, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia. The Reverend Colby McKenzie will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant/Travelers Rest C.M.E. Church Cemetery, Whiteline Street, Montezuma, Georgia.
Reuben was born January 3, 1980 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia to Olivia Felton Hubbert and Reuben Alston, Sr. He was also reared by his stepfather, James Hubbert, Sr. He was a 1998 graduate of Macon County High School. "Bungi," as he was affectionately known by family and friends, acquired his Christian training in the local churches. In 1986, he joined the band of Christian believers at Mt. Pleasant/Travelers Rest C.M.E. Church.
