The funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 110 Johnson Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Reginald English was born April 22, 1954, in Macon County, Georgia to the late Lillian Sykes English Taylor and the late Richard English Sr. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Beverly English, Wayne English, and Richard English, Jr. Reginald traveled the world with his parents through the military. He was educated in the public school system in the U.S. and Germany. Following in his father's footsteps, he served his country proudly and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1974 and was honorably discharged in 1978. He was the recipient of several medals and ribbons. At an early age, he joined the St. Paul A.M.E. Church of Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was employed at Macon County Board of Education, McKenzie Frozen Food of Montezuma, Georgia and retired from Tyson Foods Inc. of Buena Vista, Georgia. On August 24, 1984, two hearts became one when Reginald and Nannette Hinton were joined in holy matrimony. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Katrina English.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his beloved wife, Nanette English, Ideal, Georgia; six children, Christopher Simmons (Santrice), Dracula, Ga, Brian English (Lashonda), Decatur, Georgia, Craig English, McDonough, Georgia, Mark English (Fale), New South Wales, Australia, Yolanda English (Eric), Montezuma, Georgia, Shontell English Walters (Willie), Montezuma, Georgia; 20 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Terry English (Doretha), Columbia, South Carolina; aunts, Vivian Law, Willie Pearl Fitzhugh, Oglethorpe, Georgia; sisters/brothers-in-law, James Hinton (Willie Lue), Montezuma, Georgia, Aldean Hinton, Ethel Kemp, Alfonia Hinton (Dollie), Arthur Lee Hinton, all of Atlanta, Georgia, Lucille Seay (Eddie), Montezuma, Georgia, Eddie Hinton (Sheila) Ellaville, Georgia, Bobbie Hill (Al), Marietta, Georgia, Sharon English, Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
