Rance Kendrick, Jr.

Mr. Rance Kendrick, Jr. age 76, 105 Lumpkin Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia passed Friday, July 12, 2013. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Jehovah Baptist Church, 201 Chatham Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Interment will follow in Taylor’s Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Ellaville, Georgia.

Mr. Rance Kendrick, Jr. was born August 20, 1936 to the late Rance Kendrick, Sr. and Mary Lou William-Kendrick in Macon County, Georgia.

He attended the public schools in Macon County and graduated from Macon County Training School in Montezuma, Georgia. After high school, he served in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he attended the former Fort Valley State College. After 30 years of civil service, he retired from Robins Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic.

Rance accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. He was a faithful member of Jehovah Baptist Church, Oglethorpe, Georgia. With the Lord as his guide, he faithfully attended worship services at other churches in the community.

In August of 1958, he was joined in holy matrimony to Jeanie Mae Ivory. To this union, three children, Jeffery, Robert Jerome, and Marcia Christina, were born.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jeanie I. Kendrick, Oglethorpe, Georgia; his children, Jeffery (LaShawnda) Kendrick, New Bern, North Carolina, Jerome (Yolanda) Kendrick, Oglethorpe, Georgia; Tina Collins, Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Chrispian (Tyrone) Hall, Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Sara Fulks-Pitts, Detroit, Michigan, Justin Kendrick, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Anston Coleman, Houston, Texas, Tyrus Kendrick, Houston, Texas, Keyla Kendrick, Bethesda, Maryland, Devi Kendrick, Montezuma, Georgia, Corey Kendrick, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Amber West, Belleville, Illinois, Kierra Kendrick, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Amanda Fay Collins, Valdosta, Georgia, Jackie Hall and Tyrone Hall, Jr., both of Atlanta, Georgia; three great grandchildren; his siblings, George Kendrick (Clarissa), Bainbridge, Georgia, Marietta Callaway, Detroit, Michigan, Blanche Hosley, and Arthur Lee Kendrick (Eula), all of Oglethorpe, Georgia; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Oceola Ivory, Buena Vista, Georgia, Mae Ola (Johnny) Taylor, Buena Vista, Sidney (Geraldine) Ivory, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Major (Rebecca) Ivory, Oglethorpe, Georgia; a devoted brother/friend, Hubert West, Montezuma, Georgia; his dear and devoted friends, Robert Ladd, Montezuma, Georgia and Milton English, Oglethorpe, Georgia; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive.
