
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 15, 2011 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 5311 Light Plant Road, Ideal, Georgia. The Reverend David Thomas, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Bertha Dozier Cemetery, Walnut Street, Montezuma, Georgia.
Mrs. Ocilla Fulks Hunter was born September 29, 1919 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Reverend Levy Spaniel Fulks and Lenora Turner Fulks Williams. She received her education from the Macon County public school system. She was married to the late Frank Perkins and to this union they were blessed with five children. She later married the late Jack Hunter and to this union they were blessed with three children. She was the beloved mother of eight children, three preceded her in death, Willie B. Perkins, Eddie Lee Hunter and Jacqueline Hunter Mallard; three grandchildren, Richard Ager, Patricia Sanders and Robert Perkins; great grandson, Malek W. Ager; and three great great grandchildren, Mekyle, Mekayle and Jaylen Ladd.
She retired from Southern Frozen Food, Inc. of Montezuma, Georgia around 1992 after twenty years or more of dedicated services.
She joined the Travelers Home Baptist Church and later moved her membership to the Union Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board Ministry. Around 2001, she moved her membership to Shady Grove Baptist Church, Ideal, Georgia.
Survivors include children, Ida Walters, Montezuma, GA, Jimmy Perkins, Atlanta, GA, Betty Ager, Oglethorpe,GA, Mattie Sturdivant, Atlanta, GA and Mary Ann Hunter, Snellville, GA; siblings, Florene Pool, Stone Mountain, GA, Elzie Fulks, Ideal, GA, Lola B. James (Earl), Byromville, GA, Ethelrene Coakley (Emmett), Jacksonville, FL and Annie Lois Byse, Middleburg, FL; 26 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; 28 great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
